  1. Don't blame you to be honest Paul. Insurance isn't cheap at the best of times. Cheers steve
  2. Yep, seen your reply :) thanks again for coming to VAG Tuner Live :)
  3. I know I keep saying it dan but it was a fantastic day! Me too! Il be sorting out the final info/details for Audis in the park over the next week :) Deffo looking forward to meeting up with you Dan. You and your family were great company :) and your most welcome! :)
  4. Hey Paul iv not heard of this cider but il deffo have to give it a try! ;) I'm assuming it comes in different flavours? Cheers steve
  5. The dsg gearbox in my opinion is fantastic and is easily the best auto on the market in my opinion :) if you are looking at an Audi with dsg make sure the gearbox has been serviced correctly - at the right time/mileage and that the correct oil has been used. I say this as the dsg gearbox can be expensive to fix. Also on a test drive make sure the gears change smoothly both in manual and auto modes -e.g no juddering, jerking or hesitation when gears are changing. Cheers :) steve
  6. Welcome to the forum Liam :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) my first question would be how do you find th car? Heers steve
  7. Couldn't agree more!

  9. I love the stance on your a4. Im assuming you read my show review, I did mention your a4! ;)
  10. Exactly! It's just a money making racket! Well I won't be bought so easily! And I won't be going electric any time soon!
  11. Thanks for letting us know about this Joe :) looks a good show! Shame I'm busy otherwise we could have had a club display of our cars! Keep us posted on other events your club is doing as I'm sure it's something we could partake in :) iv moved this to the events section too btw :) thanks again joe :)
  12. Looks great Piotr:) top work! :)
  13. Thanks Trevor! I can't stress enough how great it was :) theres always next year Trevor :) would be well worth you coming even though it is a very long distance from you!
  14. Exactly! It's all a con for us all to buy petrol cars. Then when the politicians get bored they'll tell us we all need to have electric! Its all a money making scam. I tell you now I won't be getting rid of my a6 at all!
  15. Exactly! Your a4 will look mint when it's finished! But to be fair dan she looks great now! :)
  16. Your welcome :) what ever you do don't leave it. Keep badgering them! If it were me I'd ask Audi what substances would damage the chrome. And then see how many of them damage paintwork too. If they all damage paintwork as well as chrome then we have to assume that there conclusion is based on circumstantial evidence. Cheers steve
  17. As title says I'm after a pair of genuine a6 c5 roof bars. Anyone got any for sale? Cheers steve
  18. That's true but I think you'd be waiting 4 weeks unfortunately :/ theyre certainly not easy to find!
  19. Your most welcome :) that's what w're here for on this forum :) cheers steve
  20. Hello Stuart sorry to here about this. To be honest I believe as your car is under warranty Audi will have to prove that damage was caused by an inappropriate product being used on the vehicle. I believe your Audi should have a 10 anti perforation/corrosion warranty but unsure how this works with the chrome. The warranty lasts regardless of owner but I believe is void if a body panel such as a wing is replaced due to an accident and non Audi parts are used. It's a shame that Audi started using plastic trim instead of metal. I say this as my old a6 has the old style metal which was chromed but now they use plastic. My trim has never deteriorated in the 15 years our family has owned it. As Gareth has said your doing the right thing only using buckets of water and suds. Hope iv helped cheers steve
  21. Your most welcome Kel :) we all try and help each other out on her as we all have a common interest of all this Audi :) I'd deffo look at ratings :) but to be honest I don't know the exact disc you need or if you need any form of compatibility as iv never owned an Audi with a satnav (yet!) by the way, have a look at any of our up and coming events. Your more than welcome to display your a4 with us :) cheers steve
  22. Iv had a look on the web but iv had no luck either. If it were me I'd buy one from the US on eBay. Iv bought loads from the US, Canada, Australia, china and even Russia and have never had any issues. Admittedly these all weren't car parts. Sorry I couldn't find any in the UK cheers steve
  23. Welcome to the forum Kelly :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) audi do charge you a fortune but info know that Dan (golf mk2 man) bought a disc from eBay for £20 and it worked just fine :) just look at the sellers feedback for similar items. Cheers steve :)
  24. Your welcome :) glad I could help :) also it might be worth you asking any potential seller if he is happy for you to get an independent inspection carried out. Companies since as the AA and RAC offer this service. It will give you peace of mind plus if the seller refuses or is reluctant than you have to wonder what they or the car has to hide! Your best bet is not to rush, as rushing into a purchase could mean your buying trouble! Cheers steve
  25. Hi Paul your mate is correct. You have to tell your insurance company and it could affect your premium. However if you don't tell them you won't be covered if you do have a crash. The 3.0tdi does benefit from a remap as it makes the torque smoother. Each remap should be tailored to your car as it will differ to other 3.0tdi out there due to age, mileage and the way it's been driven. The remap will also increase your bhp and potentially/slightly improve your fuel economy as the engine is less restricted. The down side is that if the car is not in top shape and any parts of wearing out then the remap will accelerate this wearing process. By the way Audi Tuner magazine ran an article on modifing the a6 3.0tdi in their previous or current issue. Might be worth you getting a copy :) hope iv helped cheers steve
