  1. Hi Steve. Sorry to hear your having intermittent issues with your A3. Have to had one of the Audi technicians drive your car whilst your in it? Suspension creaks to me are normal for A3s. I've had 4 of them and all of them creaked. The dealer tech said this was a characteristic when I took my first A3 in. Again this was stated whilst test driving the second A3 I brought. So if this is a new issue I wouldn't worry. With regards to the warranty, the garage gets paid for any work carried out under it so wouldn't think they have any insentive not to.
  2. Hi Scott and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a very nice motor. Don't know of any sloshing problems myself but then i have no experience of the A5. I would say that it's isn't normal for any car though. Been driving for 28 years and never had that issue. Again I've can not help with your second problem but I definitely would not expect a year old car to have any issue. Hopefully someone else will help
  3. Hi Steve. Welcome to the forum. Glad you are enjoying your new Audi. I too had a Peugeot before buying my first Audi. Yes it was wow. Lucky you found a good deal though as not many can be found. 👍
  4. Hello Steve. Your car will inform you when a service is due on a count down basis. It will not matter if the car has yearly 9000 miles fixed schedule or the flexible 2 year 19000 mile max schedule (whichever is sooner). Your service book should tell you which of the two schedules the car is on. Hope this helps
  5. Hi Tom, sounds like you have a very nice car. Not sure about the A6 as I've never had one but the A3 of that era I did. A common issue that I had with my old one was the rear window wash pipe came lose or even off and caused the fluid to leak into the boot. I had this fixed under warranty twice so you might want to check that.
  6. Hi Jess and welcome to the forum. Sorry about your partners mishap. It's likely the car has air in the fuel system so it will need removing but first as Audi made 2 Diesel engines in 2005 we would want to know which one you have so to hopefully help further.
  7. AutoExpress do tyre comparison tests from time to time. Check out the results. Very interesting...http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/92873/all-season-tyre-test-20172018-results-by-category
  8. Hi Phil, nice new motor you have. I would say your MPG is about right as I was getting around the same economy for the A3 2.0TFSI I had years ago. I brought it with a few thousand miles on the clock and owned it for 5 years. This car was a pleasure to drive and I never thrashed it, always cruising around. This engine is no slouch but neither is it a beast. The A3 has 200bhp but I'm guessing the difference is to compensate for the extra weight of your A4. Quattro will take some more fuel to run. Hope this info is of some help.
  9. Nice work guys. I remember reading about the engineer visit in an article when BMW took over Landrover. The article was explaining that BMW were looking at the Discovery details at that time. Not long after that the X5 came out. I had no clue of this weeks answer though to be honest.
  10. Hi John. Can you elaborate on your question please? I'm unsure if you mean interior or exterior lighting.
  11. Hi Ant, you can always treat the new beast to a set of fuel efficient tyres when they need to be replaced. As Steve says a remap is best action though. More obvious is keep the car clean and clear of anything you don't need in the car. Hope this helps
  12. Hi Gareth - thanks for your comment. Always a bit of a gamble posting stuff on masons. You never know how folks will take it. I thought it interesting though as it seems relevant. When you break down the patrol search you out with light. That light is the patrols knowledge that helps get you on your way. And as yellow seems symbolic of the same to masons. Great question though and I too learned from it, having been a member of the A.A. for over 20 years I did not know Lonsdale was founder member. Look forward to next weeks 👍
  13. The earl was a founder member of the nation sporting club and he donated the first belts for boxing. One of the guys at work is boxing mad and has loaned me some history over the years 😂. The only connection with sport that the AA has it seems is the earls positions in two different organisations. So the colour yellow. Without research here on the earls background I would speculate that like almost all of his peers he was involved to some extent in being a mason. Colours have meaning to masons and yellow symbolises the search for the light/truth. Or it could be he just liked yellow.
