Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately they’re inside a casing or sheath so only the top can be accessed

These two models offered in the UK differ by engine torque & horsepower. If I want to “update” a 45 TDI to a 50 TDI, then is it mostly just a Stage 1 remap?

Hello Paul, Work on the principle that if you have checked all alternatives without solution, then you have to suspect the replaced component. In decades gone by, an unthinkable possibility. Regrettably now only too common a possibility. Kind regards, Gareth.

That sounds good logic Garry. Good luck with finding it an appreciative home. Regards, Gareth.

Welcome Mahmood. Would anyone be able to help with a recommendation for Mahmood? Regards, Gareth.

Hi. Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you wish. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back if you wish. Regards, Dan.

Ya I’m thinking the same, thx for your advice, much appreciated.

That seems to confirm it is the new camshaft causing the problem, though I don't understand how or why.

I've done quite a bit of research to get to the bottom of this and I've seen it mentioned in several places that the build quality of some parts was not as good during the pandemic and improved significantly in 2023. Interestingly the part I removed was manufactured in October 2020 (pandemic) and the new part end of 2023 so there could be some truth to that.

A6 Allroad BiTdi 2014 with 178k miles....am I mad?
Aspen5121 replied to James Parsons's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Great cars, the key is servicing with the recommended oil. If that’s done you shouldn’t have any major issues like timing chain. My A6 C7 Allroad 245hp is on 185,000 miles with no major issues. I bought it at 165k with full service history including gearbox service. I change the oil at +/- 5000 miles. If it doesn’t have gearbox service record then get it done immediately. -
Wondering if you bought the car? I have the 2014 A6 C7 Allroad 245hp. Currently on 185,000miles. It’s the best car I’ve owned. Service it regularly, including transmission at 60k, using the recommended oil and you shouldn’t have any problems. I’ve had very few issues with mine apart from the usual wear and tear items like wheel bearings, CV joints. Replaced both rear airbags, £150 ea on eBay, no major issues. I bought mine 3yrs ago with full Audi service history and have it serviced every +/- 5000 miles. Passes MOT each year with no issues. I would definitely buy a newer one however it’s hard for me to justify as only use it 6 months per year.

I know nothing about Carista or similar OBD readers, so let's hope someone else can chip in.

trying to strip some 18” alloys but having trouble

i think your right spartacus, im out right now but i’m pretty sure i do remember seeing that audi symbol. that’s definitely a bonus then. to be honest gareth, that was what i first had in mind, sanding some scratches, filling them, sanding again and then painting… but for some reason i tried to paint too much over and it caused the primer to split. and yes, definitely. at least i’ve now realised how challenging a task it is and that it’s not worth all the effort. but your right, i do love to DIY and you get that sense of achievement and another thing to add to the resume😂 - not this time though of course thanks frank. -
Thank you - yes I have contacted ALKO Cheers

No, I don't think I'll bother, the original diagnosis when we got it was that it needed new injectors, I was just hopeful that a good clean of them would work, but alas, no, at circa £2,000 to replace, its just too much.

A6 c7 pulsating brakes & wheel vibration cure
gurra76 replied to Steve Q's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Those bushings does not exist on my 2016 A6 Allroad mine look like picture below but nothing wrong with them Together with by brother in law who is a professional mechanic, we measured the front left brake disc with an indicator gauge. The disc was a bit uneven I would say. And both discs had heat marks So changed the front discs and pads yesterday and now the vibration are gone. I recommend the indicator gauge 😀👍🏻 -
Ok. White smoke rather than blue would suggest water being burned. Does this car have an oil cooler by any chance? Does the temperature gauge reading alter - even just a little - when the heater is switched on? There are two questions which were asked, but you haven’t answered:- How much oil does this car use.? Please quantify - x litres in x miles. How often has the car been serviced during your 8 year ownership, and when was it last serviced? Regards, Gareth. p.s. ‘The guy above’ - his name is Clifford. What is your name ‘Jon 711e’ and where is your location in the U.K.?

Update: I have unplugged the compressor aswell from the circuit fuse 4 still blows. Next is to check 12v from compressor. I read relay 267 and 384 are common culprits but locating them is the hard part. We have an A3 8p 2005 bkd if anyone knows method and location please.

I've got a 2.0 8y diesel and was wondering how they compare with the latest A3 PHEV versions. Any one had experience of moving to plug in hybrid from the diesel version? I'd be interested to know their thoughts and if people should suggest a jump to EV is the way instead (if so, any ideas as to what?_ My regular commute is 20 miles, so 40 miles round trip I do trips of about 300 miles about once a week though and wondered if the PHEV would be.a pain to drive on longer trips How do they compare handling wise

I guess you have been and gone by now, I have LED on my 2014. The setting is systems/car systems/vehicle settings/exterior lights/ lights for driving on the right. Be aware it deactivates some LED's so that the overall range is slightly diminished, cheeky really, I thought it would activate alternative LED's

I purchased a IDCore unit from Unique Auto for Android Auto, it does not come with a operation manual, is not as intuitive as an integrated Android Auto, is very clunky to operate, does not interface with the vehicle daylight sensor (for maps view). I had it installed by a local agent from their (Unique) web site. To be honest if I had been aware of the shortcomings I would not have purchased, I think it needs a touch screen to operate properly.
