  2. Service history is key. Ideally it should be full service history. Check for proof of cambelt and water pump changes as well as s-tronic gearbox oil changes and oil changes for the quattro system if applicable. Check YouTube for buyers guides. Make sure all electronic items work as some of these such as AC components etc can be expensive to change.
  3. For this to be plug and play the numbers AND letters have to match. Otherwise you'll need it to be coded.
  4. What a bargain! Be careful regarding air bag wiring though as connectors can vary. As such, if conne tors are different the easiest option is to change the airbags abs wiring from your current seats to the new ones believe it or not.
  5. Have they got invoices backing up the stamps in the book? Admittedly this may not help much though as it'll be in Japanese. Due to the strict MOT rules in Japan, I will suspect it's had everything done. As I believe everything has to work on a car in Japan for it to pass an mot. Make sure the seller is changing the language to English on all car systems. As this can be an issue otherwise. I see your in Ely, if that's London I'd highly recommend you get the supplying dealer get you a certificate of conformity from VAG as this will help prove the cars emissions regarding ULEZ.
  6. Timing not quite set or out by a tooth.
  7. Glad it's all fixed 🙂 nothing good comes cheap as they say.
  8. Hi Verojie3 and Jag1029. This problem has recently happened to my Audi b9 2018. Did you manage to find a fix? Took mine to the Cardiff Audi dealer and £500 later they could not diagnose the cause. They wanted £1500 to replace the front console with no guarantees that was the issue. Won’t be using them again in a hurry.

  10. Hi my 2017 Q3 as screen backlights have gone and it’s now black, I read that the wiring can snap due to the constant twisting of the screen. As anyone got any idea which wire from the back of the multimedia unit controls the power so I can check it with my multimeter. thanks
  11. Hi the one with only one connection is for the low pressure EGR, the sensor with two pipes is the DPF sensor they are both the same part number but the EGR sensor on the low pressure side uses barometric pressure from the open side to make its calculations, replacing both is not a bad shout but they will both need adapting, I would still be interested in your soot/ash loadings. Steve.
  12. Watching with interest, thanks for posting. im about ti replace front dampers, top mounts and anti roll bar links on my A3. the top mounts are getting a bit creaky. Dampers look to be originals and with the car past 100k miles replacing them can’t do any harm I suppose.
  13. Hello David, To my logic, the suffix A denotes an earlier version of your later B, so possibly from a pre 2009. Significance?? If it remanufactured as opposed to just ‘secondhand’, then the remanufacturer will/ should have the experience to answer any questions about specific differences. Have you asked, and have you had a reply? Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. You will never have such bad trans fluid when u NEVER do launch when u never drive like maniac .. In the past people were owning cars and NEVER EVER thought that they gonna replace trnas. fluid.. ONLY engine oil... Nowadays people doing all sht on internet just to make money from views so they will replace all possible nonsense on car.. When people suddenly shoot off from stop and step on it.. The trans gears making massive friction where micro chips happening from metals.. Nothing is undestroyable in the world.. If you never do all these car abuses your trans fluid will be STILL gold after 5 years or even 10 years of driving car...

  16. Oh dear. I can safely say I won't be trying that myself. Thanks for the heads up anyway Steve.
  17. Did anyone try a different flywheel in the end? I'm likely needing to replace my clutch soon so I'm tempted to try fitting 0B2105266L
  18. Hi Nick, Nice car. No I lost the will to live and gave up. Got a different seat with the spindly leg at the front which I'm not convinced would be as good as a top tether. Fitted 2 genuine Audi isofix bars myself not cheap. The images above show a part number can't guarantee it. But I think you could only fit one top tether seat as the recess is only on RHS of the back of the seat. Seems to me that the Americans had a solution but was unable to find out. Good luck. Let us know. Steve
  19. Looks great, very similar to my 2011 but mine not the Le Mans. currently at 165,000 miles. What did you sort the rear lights out with? the standard polishing kit? Also next time you have it plugged in any chance of sharing the exhaust temperatures - pre turbo especially - we my other thread!!🤔 All the best

  21. Thank you, it’s already in the garage tomorrow for a faulty top shock mount, so I’ll get him to check it out Linda
  22. Fixed. Car was in and out within 2 hours! Happy that it's now locked down.
  23. Hi Andy thank you for the update it gives the forum value and continuity. Steve.

    Real MPG

I have a 17 plate A7 3.0 TDI (272) motorway was getting 40 to 45mpg on local roads closer to 25 to 30mpg. Had a stage 1 mid map (320bhp) now getting 30 all day long on local roads but motorway now sitting at a comfy 50 to 55mpg driving at 65 to 75. Extra oomph is a bonus when needed.
  25. Will be too late now to arrange a stand.
  26. Hi all, im not looking for assistance im logging my warranty issue here for those who may have a similar issue for assistance/ diagnosis. vehicle effected: MY2023 40 TDi Quattro, 10,127 miles. symptom: vehicle displays drive system fault randomly at no given reason performing attribute causing vehicle to go into limp mode. Turning the car off and on again resolves limp mode. Extremely poor MPG (average 34mpg combined driving). Cause Fault codes: relate to air mass flow sensor recording incorrect parameters causing vehicle to go into limp mode. (Code to follow) additional fault code: relate to ‘reductant System’ ad-blu pump flow rate too low or ineffective. diagnosis verdict: warranty claim, replacement mass air flow sensor and pump. Concern is the car is trying to compensate for emissions out the exhaust as a result causing the air intake parameters to adjust outside of the required normal numbers. For good measure the dealership has decided to replace both as the indication for the air sensor has been two occasions where the car has broken down as a result of this fault code (recorded by Audi assist).
  27. Just realised I posted this in the 8p forum. Can a moderator swap this to the 8v section please ? thanks
