  2. I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for the following three: 1) Tracker 2) 360 Camera Recording (including when outside of the vehicle - ideally with a decent battery life) 3) Snooper Car is a 2020 RS4 Carbon. I'm based near London. Cheers!
  3. Hi all, The dealership I bought my RS4 from is already dropping the ball on servicing and other items (e.g. fixing chips glass, which was supposed to be done before I took it home). Are there any performance traders/garages you trust in the South East (London, Surrey, Kent)? Initially, for servicing, but ultimately for everything else. I'd like to go with an approved dealership for the stamps, but I'm not prepared to give my readies to a firm who are to date incredibly underwhelming. Love to get some suggestions!

  5. So here it is .... the final update, firstly I must say I completely underestimated how old or dirty gearbox oil could effect these DL-501 gearboxes, even though it had been changed twice at Audi Main Agents with receipts the last one was around the 60,000 mile mark so at 120,000 miles in 2024 I knew it was time for a complete service anyway, and was well aware Audi themselves do NOT remove the underside bracing bar in order to drop the complete sump unit and replace magnets, Inner large filter box, new gasket, all new hex screws and washers etc: Audi just remove the small outer cylindrical filter and drain the oil and replace without dropping the sump, not what I wanted or what I thought my S-Tronic gearbox needed at this point in time. I did the full service using the complete MEYLE kit and correct 7 litres of oil, PLUS while I was at it we drained and refilled the HALDEX unit even though this oil appeared very clean. Then I ordered a new VCDS Hex + V2 cable and downloaded the new May 2024 directive VCDS software direct from the Ross Tech website ........ After running gearbox up to +40 degrees Temperature I then did a full gearbox adaption with Clutch wear alignment, Kiss Points, Clutch 1 & 2 pressure values etc etc: The result ? ....... a car that no longer jerks and shudders ( albeit minor) from 2nd to first change downs, no longer any yellow gearbox Fault mode or "reverse not possible" messages, it no longer slips out of gear in reverse or struggles in reverse on an incline, in fact its silky smooth once more, I think I was lucky, I caught it the first time a problem showed, and even when it did occur you could turn the car off and on again and it would drive fine for any number of miles again until the next time ...... So that's it, a complete service both externally and the filter and gasket internally along with a full adaption with latest software worked for me, the full service kit was approx £140.00, I borrowed a friends ramp at his garage ( £20.00 bottle of wine ) bought a new V2 cable for £200.00 ( which I will use again and again anyway ) and downloaded the latest software for Free online at Ross Tech. I can only guess at what this would have cost at a Main Stealer or an Audi independent, Yes I know my way around a set of spanners and wrenches, but equally there are videos online and at You Tube with people doing this on their driveways and with very basic skills, its not hard, it is a little messy and you do need to dispose of your waste oil and filters correctly and in an environmental way, but its all doable with not a lot of money and with walk through tutorials online, I'm just glad to have my A7 back driving as it should ....... Good luck to all of you, it worked wonders on mine, and I really never expected it too, but this time I was lucky, if you do experience a problem don't leave it, at the very least do a FULL gearbox service, and don't cut corners, the MEYLE service kit really is one of the best, everything fits perfectly first time and its just not worth saving a pounds for an inferior cheaper kit, IMO anyway. Thanks again and I hope this may have been of some help to other members.😀
  6. Hi I’m looking at both an Audi. A6 2014 does the 2.0 TDI have a chain or Belt. the second is an Audi A5 2013 2.0 TDI does this have a belt or chain please
  7. Hi the car runs better during a regen as the EGR is shut off [no exhaust gas] they all do, I would recommend a full diagnostic scan before condemning anything. Steve.
  8. Hi quite possibly the answer to this is yes, especially if the car has had no prior updates during your ownership as the dealers wont do them automatically, so you have to ask and they have to charge, the updates are normally for the first four years, these are to counter known problems that the dealers have found during service, after four years they don't do anymore updates as they say they have covered most upcoming faults, my niece has had a MINI 1from new which started to run badly last summer, the car was bought new in 2010 and had never had an update so when we took it to a BMW specialist I know he said yeah no probs the update will take ten minuets, forty five minuets later it was still down loading, but to be fair it went like a rocket after. Steve.
  9. Hello Matty, Arrange a visit to your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau, and ask their advice on how to make an official written complaint to the selling dealer. Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Hello, whoever you are, Can you please take a little bit of your time to complete your profile properly. Thank you.
  11. Hello David, Fingers crossed all will be well. Perhaps you can update us once the job has been finished. Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Just to complete this, Audi diagnosed a fault and car is booked in. All I was told was that it was a software fault and that car needs to be in overnight. Cheers

  14. Hi might be worth getting in to dialogue with OBD Eleven and ask them if their system will deactivate the system as your vehicle is SFD protected and to date they are the only system to have access to the tokens to perform such functions, you wont have problems with insurance as these things cause more damage than they prevent and I suspect in the future they may even load your policy if you have it. Steve.
  15. Hi it wont damage the engine, its most likely the oil sensor in the sump going sideways they are a rubbish design which is doomed to fail, I service my own car and had the same message so I drained out a litre of oil and it was still the same message so I had to change the sensor, these sensors are very twitchy even after opening the bonnet you have to drive at least two cycles [3-4 miles] before you can check it again. Steve.
  16. There's always I higher risk of gearbox failure on high mileage cars. But that could go for any major components really.
  17. Hi guys, been a busy year so far not had chance to update on the situation. In the end the EGR cooler was the problem, had it replaced and problem has been resolved with no re-occurrence since beginning of Feb. independent specialist did the job and took about 3 days in total, cost around £1200 with the labour and vat, labour was around half the cost. hope this helps someone else in the future
  18. Does anybody know where I can source a decat downpipe for 2010 a6 c6 3.0 v6 tdi ? I have the dpf delete pipe from dark side developers but can’t find anywhere for the downpipe. thanks in advance.
  19. Hi everyone any information on the Audi campaigns 97 EP and 23 CK would be much appreciated thanks regards AR
  20. You do seem to be rather ‘fixated’ on this gearbox issue, when there are far more things that can, and do, go wrong despite the proof of FSH. Rather surprised that the car has a service book as posed to be recorded on the VAG ( International I guess) computer service record. That would be my main chasing point. Personally I cannot add to what I said in yesterday’s post in terms of gearbox service. They are going to do it and warrant it, so….? Kind regards, Gareth.
  21. Thanks. I am taking it back today. The car drives fine. I would have expected it to be lumpy or difficult to start.
  22. For this to be plug and play the numbers AND letters have to match. Otherwise you'll need it to be coded.
  23. Glad it's all fixed 🙂 nothing good comes cheap as they say.
  24. Hi my 2017 Q3 as screen backlights have gone and it’s now black, I read that the wiring can snap due to the constant twisting of the screen. As anyone got any idea which wire from the back of the multimedia unit controls the power so I can check it with my multimeter. thanks
  25. Hi the one with only one connection is for the low pressure EGR, the sensor with two pipes is the DPF sensor they are both the same part number but the EGR sensor on the low pressure side uses barometric pressure from the open side to make its calculations, replacing both is not a bad shout but they will both need adapting, I would still be interested in your soot/ash loadings. Steve.
