  2. Unfortunately the 2 websites given do not help. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I have tried ebay and the devices available are not suitable for my version of MMI. Is it possible to exchange the MMI module for one out of a British car?

  7. Not much to go on. The only thing back there is the rear diff. Any signs of weeping? Any sides lower such as broken spring? Suspect limp mode is not related to clunk at the back. Ideally you need to hook up with VCDS to scan and see what error codes are logged. Limp mode is protecting engine, so could be anything, turbo actuator, blocked DPF. Any warning lights, smell or anything else that's odd to throw onto the mix?

  13. Mark. Sorry to disappoint you but the days of Audi being a prestige brand have gone. It is now just another run of the mill manufacturer cutting costs at every opportunity to retain market share in a world where Chinese manufacturers are making huge inroads as a result of their better specifications and lower prices. Regarding tyre pressures, they are dictated by car weight, suspension resilience, power output, and top speed, not size, so it isn't surprising they differ from the Ford.
  14. Dear All, Hello to all members and contributors. By means of introduction, I thought I would share my views as a brand new Audi owner. For context, for the past 12 years or so I have owned new Ford Focuses (Foci?!), 2x top Spec Focuses, and 2x Focus STs with Sport Pack. The recent demise of the Focus/Focus ST has prompted migration to the Audi S3 to extend my mid-life crisis! I don't want this to turn into a list of complaints about my new car, so don't get me wrong, the new Audi S3 drives like a dream and the ride and quality are great. However, as a motorist that has gone from a "non-prestige" Ford to a "prestige" Audi, I would really appreciate views and opinions on some things I have noticed. These are: The Speed Limiter does not permit you to limit the speed automatically to the Speed Limit. For the past 12 years, the focuses all did this as standard. It seems an obvious option for the SPEED LIMITer to restrict speed to the SPEED LIMIT by default. The car has all of the pre-requisite technology (traffic sign recognition, automatic braking and acceleration and adaptive cruise assist). I know that Adaptive Cruise Assist can be used to match the car to the speed limit, but the Speed Limiter is a different function that is very useful in unfamiliar surroundings where the next speed camera is just around the corner! There is no Valet mode - the Fords all had this option. There is no heated steering wheel. I know we are having a heat wave, but the STs both had this as standard for the winter months! I would much rather Audi focused on functional items such as this rather than flashy matrix headlights and interior lighting. There is no front windscreen de-frost. I understand this is a proprietary Ford function, but I would have thought that Audi might have addressed this in the 12 years plus that Ford have offered it. I was surprised by the standard tyre pressures of 42/39 F/R PSI. The ST had the same tyres and were 35/35 F/R PSI. Does anyone know the reason for the difference please? I would be really interested to hear the views of experienced Audi enthusiasts. I am really enjoying my new Audi, but some "closure" on the above points would enhance my driving experience even more! It would be even better if any Audi Technicians/Engineers are around to offer their views! Many thanks all, and I look forward to hearing for you. With Best Wishes, Mark.

  19. If it’s an S7 TDI it will be an 8 speed Tiptronic box. These can easily handle the torque. I check it’s in dynamic mode, etc. ZF-8 boxes have a service kit, so I’d be inclined to do that first before you go anywhere near a remap. Audi will tell you it’s sealed for life, but do it 60-80k miles. I follow a few companies, so Decimal Tenths are Newcastle based, or Darkside Developments in Barnsley. Probably the only companies I’d entrust the work too. They are both VAG specialists. For the Tiptronic service, then Mackie Transmissions, Glasgow.

Hi everyone, I have the usual coolant leak from somewhere on my 2013 q7 3.0 tdi. It doesn't seem to lose it when just running around on short journeys , but on a 50 mile trip or something like that it loses some coolant. The car runs absolutely fine and at the correct temperature. Has anyone else has this type of symptom? If so ,what was the fix? Everything I read online is say about looking in the v for coolant but you can't seem to see anything as it's so tightly packed in there, the only place I've seen coolant is down the right side of the waterpump as you look at it dripping down slightly, the car was facing slightly down hill and leaning that way. I have also noticed the pump has a broken bolt on it so will taking it of to remove that aswell. So not sure if it's coming from that, but it doesn't look like it. Thanks 👍

  29. In general, hybrids will try to maintain a high state of charge so that electric reserve power is always available, however many other factors can influence when or if the electric motor will run. Perhaps yours is behaving normally, and you had not previously met the conditions for petrol to override electric.
  30. Thanks, In my book, it would be most important to get any hesitations and delays sorted, before resorting to any degree of mapping.
  31. noted. its not the faster i am after, its quick enough for me, its the smoothness of the engine and gearbox that i am chasing. the car is amazing but imm certain it could be even better. I am always noticing slight hesitations and delays.
  32. Welcome Adrian, Opinions will understandably vary, but there is a strong line of thought pointing to ‘ map these cars at your peril’. Before being concerned about making it go faster, attention should be paid to its past service history, mileage, and the intervals between services. Regards, Gareth.
  33. Welcome Nick, If we can help we will. Regards, Gareth.
  34. Yes I get that. Took it out yesterday ready to make a note of the warning message, did 10 mile and the blessed car behaved like a gent. No problems. I will keep you all updated.

  37. Clifford Thanks yeah this the problem I am having I have had a look and I have to say unless it's a quattro they don't seem to be worth a lot not that I am sure I would be selling it but also getting body parts is proving really difficult but it seems a shame to break it for parts.thanks for your feedback.
