  2. Hi. I’m a newbie, having just bought my first Audi. A 2025 A5 Sportback and I’m loving it. The only problem I’m having is trying to play music on the B and O system from a memory stick. I checked some things out already and found that the Audi MMI system doesn’t like memory sticks bigger than 32gb so I bought a 32 gb memory stick and formatted it to FAT32. The music is all formatted to M4A so is not DRM protected. It plays in my wife’s car, a Peugeot 2008 GT. Any ideas will be gratefully received. Looking forward to all your knowledgeable suggestions.
  3. No, you clip the ChassisEAR to the suspension arms, then drive and it picks up which one is creating the creak

  5. "The Digestive" Weekly roundup 31st May - 7th June 2026 We hope this message finds you well! It has been another engaging week for our Audi Owners Club, with plenty of discussions highlighting both challenges and triumphs. Let’s dive into some of the key topics that have been lighting up our forum this week. Alternator Concerns in the A7 Community A significant thread emerged regarding alternator failures linked to the 48v mild hybrid system in the Audi A7. Member PocketsAintEmptyCuh raised the alarm, sharing experiences from both UK and US owners. Mark2 noted that Audi UK acknowledged the issue but expressed frustration over the lack of helpful support for warranty claims. Repairs could be prohibitively expensive; one owner, DADSQ7, cited a staggering £2,800 bill for a battery replacement. This discussion underscores the need for an ongoing dialogue about potential defects in the system, which many members find concerning. Exciting Developments with the New Audi Q3 In the Audi Q3 Club, a lively discussion was sparked by James Brown about the new 2026 model. Members shared their experiences with the car’s impressive driving capabilities but lamented common connectivity issues, especially concerning smartphone integration. MartinInnes and Francis007 echoed the need for improvements in build quality and software, as they felt these aspects detracted somewhat from the overall experience. Despite these hiccups, enthusiasm for the vehicle remains high. A5 Owners Sharing Experiences Several threads in the A5 Club showcased members’ real-life experiences with recent model issues. ClassicMac shared his insights into the new S5 Avant, pointing out persistent software glitches affecting functionality. Francis007 advised on tech enhancements that had worked for him, while ScottyB10 and others discussed overall satisfaction balanced with caution regarding software reliability. Road Trips and Adventures In the Road Trips section, Anton8 recounted a recent mini road trip to the picturesque West Country, detailing some challenges with charging his electric vehicle. Fellow members, including Rikkikitto, offered tips on local attractions and charging strategies, with everyone recognising the merits of planning for these journeys, especially as more electric vehicles hit the market. Technical Troubles and Solutions Forum members didn’t shy away from raising pressing technical concerns. Duane1611 sought advice on a suspected head gasket issue in his Audi A6, and helpful tips were offered by Stevey Y, suggesting a professional assessment. Meanwhile, Lorenzo23 was exploring clutch noise issues in his A4 B9, with Stevey again providing valuable insights about dual mass flywheel configurations. A Celebrated Find in the A2 Club Hulltr6man joyfully shared news of acquiring a 1.4 TDi A2, earning him congratulations from the community. Members encouraged him to savour the car in its original state, recognising its potential as a classic rather than pushing for performance upgrades. Engaging with Your Fellow Owners As the week wrapped up, the forums remained abuzz with discussions about everything from window regulators in the A5 to the ins and outs of insurance costs for younger drivers. We invite all members to continue sharing advice, asking questions, and uploading photos of your beloved Audis. Join the conversation! Your insights and experiences enrich our community. Best wishes, The Audi Owners Club Team Audi A1 Club Digest Does anyone know what this high pitched noise is? 5 replies In a recent thread, redaudi20 reported a high-pitched noise from their 2017 A1 1.6 TDI Sport, particularly noticeable in cold weather. Stevey Y speculated it could be related to a warped disc or an issue with the calliper, while Audisq524 suggested the noise might have an electrical origin, possibly from a pump or relay. Sharing a related experience, StanH noted that a similar noise in their second-hand A1 was traced back to an electric fuel pump issue, which was resolved with a replacement. Overall, members exchanged valuable insights into diagnosing the peculiar sound. Audi A2 Club Digest Yippee I got one…. 7 replies Hulltr6man recently celebrated acquiring a stunning A2 1.4Tdi in Ebony Black, complete with beige leather and a sunroof. He considered chipping the engine for an additional 25 bhp but received unanimous encouragement from fellow members, including Magnet and spartacus 68, to keep the car as it is to avoid unnecessary stress on the engine. The consensus is to appreciate its capabilities in standard form, given its potential as a classic. Audi A3 (8L) Forum Digest Hybrid charging 11 replies Ian R Brown29 raised concerns about his 2020 A3 tfsi e not charging overnight due to timers unexpectedly activating. Cliffcoggin provided insight, suggesting that the issue might stem from the Audi charging app controlling the charging timing, introducing another potential point of failure. Despite attempts to resolve the problem, including turning his phone off, Ian has yet to find a solution, highlighting the ongoing frustration with his vehicle's charging setup. He plans to consult with Audi for further assistance. Battery replacement 5 replies LucyB reached out for advice after her car’s battery died, prompting her to consider a DIY replacement. Magnet suggested checking the battery's age and considering a battery saver device to retain settings, alongside the need for proper coding of the new battery to prevent damage. Eventually, LucyB decided to have her local garage handle the replacement instead, highlighting the shift from straightforward DIY methods to more complex modern procedures. Audi A3 (8V) Forum Digest Mod list and a few pics from last road trip to Europe. 11 replies · 1 files T80HNO shared an impressive list of modifications made to their vehicle, including DBA brake discs and a retrofitted TPMS system. After a memorable 3,500-mile road trip through Europe, they expressed excitement over a new Lamborghini Urus roof box for future adventures. Hyper Ultra Pro suggested considering different wheel colours, to which T80HNO confirmed the acquisition of black Rotiform KPS wheels for track use, planning for silver wheels on their next road trip. Audi A4 (B9) Forum Digest Insurance 8 replies Dillon initiated a discussion regarding his staggering insurance costs of £400 a month for his Audi A4 B9, which many members deemed excessive given his age. Cliff suggested looking for an older, less powerful vehicle and utilising secure parking, while Magnet bluntly pointed out the financial strain this could impose. Several members, including Spartacus68, advised using comparison sites and considering options like telematics or advanced driving courses to potentially lower premiums. Overall, the consensus stressed the importance of reassessing Dillon's current vehicle and exploring more economical alternatives. Pilot bearing or clutch problem? 7 replies · 3 files Lorenzo23 raised concerns about a noise when pressing the clutch on his Audi A4 B9, questioning if it was related to the pilot bearing or the clutch itself. Stevey Y quickly clarified that Audis utilise a dual mass flywheel instead of a pilot bearing, advising a complete clutch replacement for best results. The two discussed costs, with Lorenzo23 mentioning a quote of £1000 just for the flywheel replacement, while Stevey highlighted the importance of changing the full clutch set to avoid further issues. Despite securing a new flywheel from Autodoc at a lower price, Lorenzo23 faced additional complications, indicating that the garage was unsure of a missing component. Audi A5 Club Digest Audi New Model A5/S5 Avant Experience 19 replies ClassicMac initiated an engaging discussion regarding his experiences with the new Audi S5 Avant, highlighting significant software issues despite the car’s impressive features. Other members, including Francis007, shared their insights, with Francis mentioning how he benefitted from professional installations for tech enhancements on his S5. A prevailing concern among contributors, including ScottyB10, revolves around persistent software glitches, impacting overall satisfaction with the vehicle. Despite these challenges, there's a sense of optimism as users continue to explore the car's capabilities. Window Regulator - easy fix? 8 replies David raised a query about replacing the window regulator on his Audi, expressing concern over the high costs from his garage. Steve recommended a diagnostic check, while Spartacus68 shared insights on the complexity of the task and the benefits of using Gorilla tape as a temporary fix. After some investigation, David found access to the regulator, but with the weather not on his side. Fortunately, he later confirmed that his car passed the MOT, and he now plans to tackle the regulator issue after sourcing parts at a more affordable price. Help with some issues 6 replies Kian initiated the discussion regarding multiple issues with his 2008 Audi S5, notably the EPC light activation, limp mode, and central locking failure following heavy rain. Cliffcoggin advised that a dying battery could be the root cause, though Kian mentioned that a new battery had recently been installed. Cliffcoggin continued to prompt for updates, highlighting a need for communication on the forum. Ultimately, diagnostic and battery checks were suggested as essential first steps. Coding drl 5 replies Josh gall initiated a discussion about coding the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on his 2015 Audi A5 to activate when unlocking the car, rather than relying on the light sensor. Spartacus 68 provided valuable insights, suggesting that while OBD11 may not facilitate this, VCDS could potentially access the necessary settings through the central electrics module. The conversation highlights the need for further research before investing in software, with Josh considering Spartacus's advice on options available for his vehicle. One-touch window failure 5 replies Stavros raised the issue of a malfunctioning one-touch window function in his Audi A5 Cabriolet, noting that while the rear and master switches operate correctly, the front window switches require manual assistance to open. Cliffcoggin provided advice on re-programming the switches, confirming that the ignition must be on during the process. Despite attempting the suggested techniques, Stavros reported no improvement, prompting further troubleshooting suggestions from Cliffcoggin. The conversation highlights the complexities of window switch issues and the value of shared member experiences. Audi A6 (C5) Forum Digest C5 RS6 034 strut top mount 5 replies Pete raised a query about needing new strut top mounts for his C5 RS6, specifically inquiring about the solid 034 rubber mounts versus the original bearings. Stevey Y clarified that the solid mounts are effective since they don’t rotate like those in a McPherson strut assembly. As the conversation progressed, Pete mentioned considering coilovers from MTS Technic and sought advice regarding compatibility, to which Stevey Y recommended assessing the setup carefully to avoid a harsh ride. Ultimately, the discussion provided valuable insights into strut mount options and their suitability for different suspension configurations. Audi A6 (C6) Forum Digest Head gasket? 14 replies Duane1611 raised concerns about coolant loss in his Audi, suspecting a head gasket failure. Stevey Y suggested the issue might stem from a faulty oil cooler rather than the gasket, advising Duane to consult a professional due to the complexity of the repair. Gareth emphasised the risks of driving the vehicle, warning that continued use could lead to severe engine damage. As of the latest update, Duane is planning to book the car in for a thorough check to assess any damage. Audi A7 Club Digest Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system? 668 replies · 4 files PocketsAintEmptyCuh raised concerns about alternator failures linked to the 48v mild hybrid system, highlighting experiences from both UK and US owners. Mark2 shared that Audi UK acknowledged the issue but were unhelpful regarding specific warranty claims, while MikeyW discussed the difficulties faced in asserting liability for out-of-warranty vehicles. Members noted that repairs could be costly, with DADSQ7 facing a £2,800 bill for battery replacement, suggesting broader issues with the 48v system remain unresolved. The discussion reflects a growing frustration among Audi owners regarding this potentially dangerous defect. Audi Q3 Club Digest New 226 audi q3 62 replies · 1 files James Brown initiated an engaging discussion about the new 2026 Audi Q3, with several members sharing their experiences. MartinInnes highlighted the presence of the Audi pre sense system but expressed frustration with the car's connectivity issues, particularly with smartphone integration. Meanwhile, Francis007 echoed Martin's thoughts on build quality and quirks within the software, adding insight about similar challenges in his own S5 Avant. Overall, there's a consensus on the excellent driving experience, though members noted the technology could be improved. Audi Technical Digest A3 uncommanded engine shutdown 5 replies Bobs dad raised a concerning issue about his new A3 Black Edition, which experienced an uncommanded engine shutdown while driving. Despite the engine cutting out, there were no warning lights or faults detected by the diagnostics. Cliffcoggin suggested researching a related thread on potential alternator issues linked to the mild hybrid system, but Bobs dad was sceptical about this being the cause, as the engine's behaviour suggested an erroneous input rather than a mechanical fault. Overall, the conversation highlights a frustrating lack of clarity in addressing the issue. Classic Audi Club Digest Can't find an interior blower for my 1994 Quattro 100 2.8E 7 replies TomMelluish is struggling to find an appropriate interior blower for his 1994 Audi 100 Quattro 2.8E, as the replacement he ordered did not match the mounting configuration. Helpful suggestions came from members like Gareth, who recommended placing wanted ads in classic car magazines and searching online car breaker sites. After some effort, Tom successfully located a replacement fan in Lithuania, arranging for it to be delivered to a friend in France due to shipping restrictions. Both he and the community expressed satisfaction with the resolution to his issue. Road Trips Digest Mini Road Trip. 13 replies Anton8 shared his experience of a recent mini road trip to the West Country, highlighting challenges with charging his electric vehicle. He noted that Audi limits the charge to 80%, which affected his range, resulting in several stops at various service stations. Rikkikitto praised the Eden Project and recommended a cheese shop at Cheddar Gorge, while cliffcoggin pointed out the high costs associated with charging, emphasising that it’s cheaper to charge at home. Overall, members found the exchange helpful, particularly regarding planning and charging strategies for electric vehicles.
  6. Hi. You said that you had rough warm start issues. What were the symptoms for this? I am also experiencing issues when the engine is warm, and I'm starting the car, and the engine dies right away. This is so random, so I'm not sure what to track next. My battery voltage when the engine is off is 12.4V. I also attached a video to see what issue I'm facing. IMG_2480.MOV

  8. Car is 20 months old so not exactly soon after build.
  9. Usually, electronic systems/units either fail fairly soon after build, or go on forever. Very few will fail ‘in service’, what we used to call a ‘bathtub’ failure curve, light a very wide U, high to start with, drops very low, very quickly & remains low until it’s close the end of it’s designed life when it shoots up again. It’s quite likely you were simply unlucky and, sadly, vehicle technicians are no longer taught how to fault find, they are only taught how to plug in a diagnostic computer. So if that can’t find the fault, neither can they!

  11. No, it’s been fine ever since in that respect but had an ACC radar unit went duff when the headlights were replaced (for LEDs). Still not right. Guy that did the headlights messed something up, mechanical alignment we think. it's just figuring out what exactly & correcting it. 90% of the way there! But not impressed tbh, especially as he Advertises that he can retrofit ACC systems. It went back to him twice too before he admitted he couldn’t align them as he didn’t have the kit! But again, Audi unit £1700 & 3 months back order, bought one from Hong Kong £300 (a lot of Audis electronics are made in China anyway! ). That sort of stuff on military ships used to be my day job, small radar units like cost very little, Hong Kong price is still about 20% profit by my reckoning. But I’ve found that before. Suspension Air pump for a previous 2004 (same as used by RR, Mercedes, Bentley etc, Audi price, £1100 + VAT + fitting, 3 hours! Bought from the US manufacturer, $300 (so about £250) & took 45 mins in a friends garage with a pit to replace! £50!
  12. Bless ya not a problem! Easy to get mixed up. I've done it plenty of times.
  13. Sorry to read your past issue. I assume you never had the issue again after the part was changed?
  14. Yes, TRW for brakes, etc. Lemforder is basically what’s on the car just now, just stamped as Audi. 14 part arm suspension pack is £550 give or take, then you have labour to factor in. For arguments sake let’s say 6-8 hours. Yes car is low mileage, but suspension is rarely straight forward with bolts refusing to budge, especially the pinch bolt on the strut leg. Once all that’s done, the car needs tracking alignment. The irony is you could still do all this work and still have a creak. The suspension shock absorbers will be original, bump stops, and the top mounts. I don’t think you’re anywhere near a front end refresh yet, it’s 40k miles. I’ve done front end refreshes on a A2 and A4 diesel, both around 120k miles. It’s a labour of love and rarely goes to plan. I looked into that Chassis Ear tool, but that’s basically a workshop tool when the car is in the air. Your garage sound like they are doing the right thing, especially if not advocating ‘swap out the entire lot’ approach. Get them to look a specifically at universal joint on steering shaft (grease it), or friction at the steering column's bulkhead seal, (silicone spray).
  15. Hey Audi fans, does any of you have Q4 2025? I wonder what software you have in the care as I've had 0621 which caused me issues with charging to 100% and communicating with the car through my Audi app and now Audi has upgraded my software here in the UK to 4325 and there is another bug that is causing my Android phone to disconnect while driving. Has any of you experienced the same ?

  19. Hi John, I run a 2015 A6 Allroad, about 3 years I had a similar issue, drove into town & on the way back, dash lit up like a Xmas tree. No power steering, faults everywhere. Pulled it over (hard with no power steering! Switched off, waited, started again but still the same. But it started, wrestled it home, literally at about 15 mph. When I got it to the garage (non franchised specialist), it was also the steering rack or module. 6 months backorder from Audi & £2.5k! Luckily, he had a used one from a low mileage RS6 (same spec) he’d bought to do a car up but sold the car when someone made an offer he couldn’t refuse. So that sorted me out. But, nothing they’ve built since has really stirred any desire for another Audi, although the Q6 e-tron came close (until now! ). But for any spares to be unavailable within a week or so is pathetic! I was lucky that time but don’t think I want another Audi now. I’m torn between keeping the Allroad for some years or going to just an EV (I run an Enyaq too to stop me wrecking the Audi [Diesel] with short journeys, no commuting since I retired). But the Enyaq can’t replace the Audi for my long trips away with 17’ kayaks on the roof + all the other kit! It’s just Soo comfortable & easy rpthe drive and there’s limited choice of decent large EV estates on the used market at my budget just now. (Just the ID7).
  20. Sorry Steve , I left you another message. I’d got my messages about canoes (I’ve asked a number of clubs) crossed. This canoe I want isn’t in Nottingham, it’s in Runcorn!🤦🏻‍♂️ I’m really sorry. I’ll let you know when I’m next heading to my sisters in Northampton.
  21. Excellent thank you so much 🙂
  22. My tuppence worth. Problems with the 25MY B10 are well documented and although it shouldn't happen, and in my opinion should have been addressed before the 26MY was released, to Audi's credit, they have acknowledged the software issues. It's something I would have been able to ( and still am ) reject the car. Outwith the software issues, my car came with a couple of faults - sticking brakes and an annoying rattle from door panel, both of which were rectified at dealership. That can happen to any car regardless who the manufacturer is. A smearing windscreen wiper typically means both the rubber and the glass need cleaned. First thing I've done with every VW group car I've owned is replace the wipers with Bosch aerowipers, but thus far it's never been required with this A5. (They look very similar to the Bosch ones) Software: I don't get as many system failures since the 'open/close' door solution but I'm led to believe that the software fix for MY25 is now being rolled out - EV cars this month, ICE next month. You should be notified via My Audi app when the update is available. It'll require a dealer visit. Regarding the battery. Welcome to modern cars. Our other car is a Toyota hybrid, one of the most reliable cars on sale. That too has already undergone a battery replacement due to the battery management system. The 'fix' if you can call it that, is the car now notifies me when the battery needs attention and the car has to be driven to charge the battery. Modern cars don't seem to be able to cope with sitting doing nothing for 2 weeks as they're constantly monitoring themselves. If you're knowingly going to leave the car sitting for several weeks or more then best solution would be to put it on a trickle charge. That goes for any modern car but especially for those that you're able to communicate via a mobile app. Hope that's of some use.
  23. Steve, I’m really sorry, for some odd reason I’d thought this canoe was in Nottingham, it’s not, it’s in Runcorn! Got my messages well crossed! Abject apologies. I’ll let you know when I’m next due to go up to my sisters in Northampton.

  26. Thanks, Bob, for the startup tip - Used it the last 3 times using the car - and not had an issue thus far or needed to do a reset. Time will tell Thank You Martin
  27. Hi Steve, Thanks for reply firstly. Im under the impression that the 7 digit code tells the ECU the calibration of the injector Idle is smooth and no real power loss as far as I can tell, but looking for info some say wrong injector code could cause issues as in Idle, power, fueling rate. Like I say it seems to run smooth. Unfortunately unable to put foot down as also have main pressure valve issue in transmission. There's no faults in engine either. I think the reason I am unable to code with the 7 digit code on injector is because ECU knows code is from a different market (Lithuania) and not UK spec for emissions. I suppose no faults, runs good no problems really Thanks for your input, appreciated 👏
  28. That's great news Steve, thanks 😊
  29. Hi I don't think you have wasted your money, find another C7 and use the codes from that as far as I am aware the coding number is an acceptance code to let the ECU know its had a new unit, the injectors are all the same and once accepted will re learn their values very quickly. Steve.
  30. Hi. When the outside temperatures are higher, lets say above 15°C, I can hear a "tic" sound coming from somewhere near the driver side A-pillar on my 2020 A4 B9.5. Sound/squeak is more frequent if the car is in the right turn and the road is not perfect. I guess weight transfer has to do something with it. If the road is in good condition then the sound is not present even at 35°C. Usually the "tic" can be intentionally done if the front right tire drops in a (slight) hole or undulation. Have tried to poke & press around the top of the dashboard near the speaker but can not reproduce the sound. Will try to make a video.. Any suggestions?
  31. Hi don't worry it only gets critical when you reach the level of a pint of water per pint of oil then the ends rattle and the valve gear rattles as there is not enough lubrication for the lifters, I am quietly confident it is no where near terminal, seen worse where its cooked the head and big end bearings, did a Vauxhall Astra a while ago, same problem but worse and two gallons of flushing oil and three filters its still doing a nightly commute to London no issues. Steve.
