Centre rear light problem

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help I've bought a 2009 s3 and it's had an rs3 rear spoiler fitted and the centre brake light isn't working which throws a fault up on the dash!! Any ideas people?? Thanks

Welcome to the forum Ian, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

There are only 3 possiblities here:

1. Bulb blown and you require a new one.

2. Loose wire which has stopped it from working

3. The light unit has failed.

My advice would be to check the bulb first and I'd that's working then try and trace the wiring. However I have had a light unit fail on my a6 before.

Cheers

Steve

Hello Ian,

I'm not really sure anout the A3, but some of these high level brake lights on other marques and models can be linked LED type units and as such the 'bulb' would not be replaceable, and the light unit very often had to be changed as a unit.

Kind regards,

Gareth.
