A3 tdi idles at 1000 rev

Featured Replies

Hi, I’m new here, got Audi A3 1.6 tdi 2015, when I start it goes to 10000 rev, after about 20 min drive it goes down to 750 rev, any idea what this could be. Thx

Hello Daren,

I guess you mean 1000rpm rather than 10,000!

If it's 1000 then this is fine - fast idle until it warms up a little. Once it has done that, then it should settle back to around 750rpm, as it does.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Glad it's still under warranty and hopefully it won't be anything too serious. I'd be very surprised if it's the battery bas the car is probably not even 4 years old.

Cheers

Steve
