CD player

Hello all. I'm looking for an aftermarket CD player for my 2020 A4 35 tfsi . I'd prefer a portable plug in  rather than trying to incorporate a unit into the dash. There are various makes advertised on eBay- does anybody have any experience of them, or have a recommendation?

Cheers, Mike

Have you got any links to the ones you're looking at?

Also the standard CD player is fitted in the glovebox, you could always look into getting one fired to your a4 from an auto electrician or ICE specialist.

Hi Steve.  It wasn't an option to have a CD player when I ordered the car, and although a local firm said they could 'probably' fit one I'm not too confident, and I'd hate to screw up the electrics, so i thought a plug in would be better- and cheaper. Not too sure about how to upload a link from eBay but I'll have another look at what's available.

Cheers, Mike.

I can completely understand where you're coming from, and I'm surprised Audi didn't offer it as an option to you. My other advice would look at getting nit fitted by a professional retrofitter. Most of whom are former VAG employees

Besides the obvious question of why not rip your cds and use MP3 or FLAC or...

What spec is your MMI? - I'd imagine you have at least a USB connector so something like this should work through your media menu?

Alternatively do you have an aux connector under your armrest - you can use an old disc man or similar to play through that.

Thanks Steve and Richard, yes it was the aux connection I was thinking of using- MMI, FLAC etc are wasted on me although I could de-coke an engine if necessary. I used to like  gadgets, now haven't got the patience. At least the DAB radio rarely cuts out, unlike my previous Audi, where it was unusable.  I've got personal players for CDs (and tapes! shock horror) so I'll find some of my old cables and give them a try.

I'm the same, I still use CDs to be honest, I'll dread changing away from cds and into the modern age lol

CDs are already modern age - they started the digital revolution 😁😁
