RS4 DRC

Hi 

I’ve recently taken delivery of a B8 RS4 with DRC. One day in and I’ve noticed the rear sits one inch lower at the rear (measured from ground to body work (mid point of arch). The seller has suggested this is an incorrect point of measurement and that it’s normal for large engine cars to sit like this. 
 

Doesnt seem right to me especially once any weight is put in the boot.

Thoughts welcome! Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you bought from a private seller? 

If not I'd be taking it back to the dealer as it's definitely not normal. Audi did a recall regarding the shocks so it's worth seeing if the recall has been done. 

Also I believe leaks from the shocks or clinking are common signs it's failing. This link will help further:

Hello Matt,

You don’t say whether it was bought from a dealer or privately. Even if bought privately, it must meet the seller’s description. Still…… Whoever, is correct in saying you are taking incorrect measurement points. 
To correctly measure:- 

Check and correctly adjust tyre pressures, and park the vehicle on as flat an area as you can find (important). 
Take measurements from wheel centres to under wheel arch, and compare these. 
Conventional sprung suspension - not air? 
If so, first suspect would be a broken spring - can be a common issue. 
Perhaps you could come back to us and let us know how you get on Matt.

Thanks that helpful. I’ll give that a go.

It’s from an independent dealer. It has a fresh MOT so would hope a broken spring would have been identified then, but who knows.

Broken springs can sometimes be difficult to spot, particularly if they break near the end/ within the spring cup. 

Now calls for another look on the offending side.
