Loud rattle/clatter whem decelerating

Hi guys

Drove from Newcastle to York and back Weekend car was perfect 

Next day when slowing down foot off accelerator there's a loud clatter / rattle through clutch peddle like spanners in a washing machine the sound dissappear's when clutch is pressed cars 137k gearbox and clutch seem fine 

A6 c7 2.0tdi manual

Had a go moving exhaust by hand seems secure .... hope its not dmf :unsure:

Sorry to hear of your issue. 
For me, the part I don’t like is that the noise disappears when the clutch is depressed.

I hope your concern about DMF turns out not to be founded, but…….

I really think you need to get this inspected without delay, before whatever is rattling decides to move house! 
Perhaps you would let us know how you get on Mark.

Going into workshop tonight will inform of outcome ....

 

 

Only thing saying no to dmf is no vibration through peddle when stationery and peddle is pressed all other issues suggest the dmf ...

Cars been up on ramp and clatter is from inside the box so looking like clutch kit and dmf :yawn:

All sorted guys was dmf costing £750 for full kit including release bearing was £1100 in total all sorted
