Acceleration problem

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

I recently joined the world of owning an audi. And picked myself up a a3 8p 2010 2.0 tdi sport.

I have come to ask for help I have a problem when I hit a certain Speed, the car stops accelerating and tell me to down shift on the display.

It does this until I stop, once I turn the car off and on again it works again until I hit a certain speed.

Think motorway speeds.

There is no warnings or lights.

It feels like a limiter but that doesn't seem to be on.

Any help or suggestions on where to look as I am back at work Wednesday and hope to have it sorted.

Thanks guys.

To add. I am assuming limp mode would tell me, however not 100% on that

If you bought it from a dealer within 30 days you have the right to take it back for them to repair it FOC or for a full refund.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.

Is it an auto?

If so could be an issue with the gearbox module.

Thank you for the reply, sadly private sale.

It's a manual, I was thinking turbo vanes. But not sure as I been driving petrol for the last 10 years.
