How is the Reliability of B9 2.0 TFSI

Featured Replies

Hi All,

It's Yusuf and it's my first post and hopefully won't be the last if I can get a B9 for myself soon 😀

Not so sure if it's something allowed to ask here but could you please tell me about your experiences with this engine? I have found an A4 2.0 TFSI 2016 model and it's Japanese import so couldn't be so sure if it's a good option to go for it.

Thanks very much and nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂

With any jap import make sure the emissions information is on the v5 otherwise you can have a problem with ulez zones etc.

Jap cars are usually well maintained due to the strict MOT. Speak to the dealer about the infotainment system as it'll all be in Japanese.

I import cars from Japan. The cars are the same as the UK ones, you can use all the same parts and the undersealing is the same.

The reliability is the same as the UK cars, great if the servicing is done. The Japanese Audi dealers seem to be a bit hit and miss with updating Erwin so ask to check the service book to make sure its been looked after, google translate will do a great job translating it.

The infotainment is easy to convert, look up https://github.com/jilleb/mib2-toolbox , https://mibsolution.one/#/1 and https://mib-helper.com/

See the last entry on this thread:

which says "Had a few Japanese cars in the past & the underside protection is primer!"

not on VAG cars. I've imported about 20 and been underneath them all on a lift, the under body protection is the same as UK cars
