New Head Unit, Speakers etc. for A3 (8P)

Hello,

New to the forum and new to Audi :)

So I've had my A3 which is my first car for just over a year and now I'm looking to improve it.

My A3 isn't the Bose version so the first thing I would like to do is completely replace the sound system.

I have been looking at the Sony XAV-AX100 as a potential new head unit but apart from what I like I know nothing about the parts that I will need.

My initial budget is around £900 but I could be convinced to up that if it'll be worth it.

I had been looking at Sony speakers simply so that everything would match but I don't have a clue if they will be good. I also would like to avoid a massive sub woofer in the boot if possible. I prefer quality audio (Not a bass head) so if there is one hidden somewhere in the car that i can replace then great but I'm thinking the most likely thing for me is a sub under the passenger seat.

I don't have much of a clue so any help is greatly appreciated :D

Many Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom...welcome to the Forum

There are plenty of systems available out there but I would recommend to seek the guidance from a specialist installer to get the right components to get the sound you are looking for (e.g. bass, voice, etc)

Let us know how you get on with it

Cheers  Trevor

Hi Tom

When you're looking for a head unit, you can go for single or double din, any should be fine, looking for one with a touch screen or simple with buttons? when I was getting (you won't like me now) subwoofer fitted and head unit I heard a lot of people say that the Bose sound systems are annoying to work on (I haven't got a Bose system, so people was going "phew").

So as Trevor has said check it out with a specialist, it could just be down to a few connections, let us know how it goes :)

Regards

Bradley
