A couple of questions.

Hi,

I’m new here but not new to Audi.

I like cars and always have but I know virtually zero about anything technical.  I can only just top up the oil and even that can be a challenge.

I’ve been driving an Audi A4 Cabriolet for 10 years and I've just bought, (but yet to actually get hold of) an almost new A3 Cabriolet.

I’d like to get a tracker put on it and the Audi main dealer can do it but I’d like to know if it’s something I could/should do myself?

Any recommendations.

I’d also like to get a rear view camera (I’m 66 and have a stiff back) but the main dealer won’t fit it.

I stretched myself a little with the car and I’m not wild about the Audi main dealer style prices so wonder if this is a common and easy fix too?

Thank you.

Hello Derek welcome to the forum :)

Inwould imagine (but don't quote me) that a tracker would have to be fitted by a professional so in order to be valid for the insurance company.

Also with regard to reverse cameras, many companies offer them such as kenwood and pioneer. I think it will also depend on what size screen you want and where it will fit on the dash.

It also depends on how much you want to spend. I mean for example you can get a rear view mirror monitor from Halfords for £60.

Hope that helps

cheers

Hi Derek...welcome to the Forum

Not sure about the Tracker but the rear camera should be easy enough to install.

Best bet for both items would be to go to a specialist car audio/electrical in your area to discuss with them.

Let us know how you get on with it

Cheers  Trevor

Thank you.  I live very close to exact the kind of place you describe.  I'll look them up.
