More than likely a lose connector I would have thought if you disturbed it in the first place. Best to retrace your steps and check everything. Sucks when that happens after completing an otherwise nice job!

Hard to tell unless you have paperwork or put it on a rolling road etc... To be honest the 3.0 diesels always feel really quick because they have an absolute truck load of torque

Yeah well they are older cars now so not up to modern standards in that department I suppose. Are you wiring the speakers straight from the head unit then?

Have you tried gaining access to the bulb? Checked fuses etc?

If I'm not mistaken you can get a special adaptor cable for cars that have a factory amp fitted so you can just plug an aftermarket unit straight in?

You would find that the ECU will need to "re learn" your driving habits etc and if the car has a radio code (not sure as not all do these days) You would need a code reader - a garage could do it for you too but would obviously cost more

Have you tried using other media to see if it works - iPod/iPhone, USB etc?

Nice so all you need is the stalk and to activate it then and job done?

May be a good place to start. Just make sure you have any radio codes etc? Thought about scanning for error codes?

If it's gassing you I'd check the first half of the exhaust system for leaks too

Hmmm only thing I can think is a faulty cable to be honest. If you read the reviews of that cable they are fairly mixed. Perhaps a genuine one would be better? Also, try another iPod/iPhone to rule out a problem with that iPod, and of course if you know anyone that has one try another (preferably genuine) cable
