thanks gareth and steve all sorted now. just had an offer from the AA.i rang them and went through the policy and by reducing my annual mileage by 1 mile this then reduced my policy by £12.(from 9000 to 8,999.i asked if they had an offer with home start.they said no... the only offer they had with the car insurance policy was breakdown cover if your a quarter of a mile for home £19.50 a year or for £38.00 a year national recovery.excess is £150 so total £250....so my policy cost £349 thats because i am paying for it monthly otherwise £320 with 9 years no claims....interestingly 1 company valued my car at £6500 but my premium was coming in at around £550....AA have valued it at around £3500...had more quotes but excess higher.i feel there is not the competative quotes like there has been in the past. i tried darwin gareth but when i went to retrieve a quote its coming up with a blank page....did you mean miles ahead car insurance steve... it seems to be on facebook i tried their link but it says server not found

hi all,my car insurance is due soon but it has gone up £70 this year due to a few factors and ukraine and parts were 2 of a few.there is no change in my policy.should i be thankfull.. i have tried a few comparison sites,but qoutes are coming in up to £150-300 more.i know there are a lot of factors to take into account but is this the norm now.thanks all.

just bought a workshop manual from ebay for an audi a4 b8 diesel.please see pic 2 for which car/engines it covers.here are the basics

ive managed to source one from ebay😁 from experience of doing the aux belt and pulleys i found it easier to take the bumper off as also there is enough room to do the timing/water pump etc as of course its next to the aux and pulleys

all i can suggest is ring audi with the reg here is a pic from the owners manual audi b8 with writing highlighted

A while ago i had water coming in in the recess bit on the left hand side of the boot.and now believe it maybe coming from one of the(what i call)an air vent.and in order to seal around both vents i removed the rear bumper.there are youtube videos for doing this i just tapped in audi a4 b8 rear bumper removal.i found it quite easy to do.i removed the rear left and right covers in the boot then removed x2 10mm nuts from behind the rear light area(pic 1) then removed both plastic screw in holders(pic 2) that hold the rear lights on,by loosening the holder by inserting a philips in th whole turning it anti clockwise.but while doing so held onto each light as i then removed the connector(pic 3) from each light by pressing on the connector with my thumb and at the same time pulling on the connecter(a bit tight).....then removed x3 t20 torx screws from both rear wheel arches(pic 4)and then removing the other x3 t20 torx screws from underneath the bumper(no pic)......then removed the x2 plastic pins by lifting them up with a flat bladed screwdriver(pic 5)....carefully prize apart both left and right sides of the bumper(pic 6)and carefully remove the whole bumper....then just do the same in reverse order to put the bumper back on.....tips....be careful not to drop the 10mm nuts in the recess(i dropped one but have a magnet rope.(pic 7)....when re-alining the bumper up use the 2 long screws as a guide and while pushing the bumper in check that 2 plastic holders in the middle of the bumper on the inside slot in place....very important too that you have to open like a plastic door(pic8)on either side of the bumper to insert a bit of the plastic bumper and then you close the plastic door in order to be able to slot the long plastic holders in place.....be also carefull that the edges on either side of the bumper for the wheel arches dont scratch your paintwork and be carefull when slotting them in place when putting the rear lights back in i would suggest inserting the plastic screw in first(pic 9) so its protuding and then push the light in while still holding the plastic holder and light, and start !Removed! it into the light....(pic 10)showing where water was getting in.(pic 11) bumper.(pic 12-13) order numbers only 1 number difference between left and right light..sorry for been so long winded hope you get the drift of how to😀

hi david.i too have the cjc engine and timing belt will need doing sooner than expected as i am loosing a bit of coolant(suspect water pump)any pictures/info from anyone would be appreciated.as you say its finding info on the cjc engine thanks stephen

come across what please and which code or are you meaning just the code your mentioning.if yes that code could relate to a misfire according to what i have read.is yours misfiring ?

hi just looked in the owners audi a4 manual and according to the pics its showing as fuses on the left sid panel(right hand side if your sat in the car) fuse carrier A black. fuse 11(5 amp) heated jets and fuse carrier B brown fuse 9 wiper motor(30 amp). and in the boot, fuse carrier D red fuse 8(15 amp) rear window wiper(avant).i removed both the 5 amp and the 30 amp fuses but the wipers and jets still work checked all other fuses in the book and cannot work it out for you which fuse it is for the jets or the jet motor...see pic 3 for ebay item no could this be the oem number needed.i am now intriuged myself to which ones they are lol.i think the pump is behind the front right wheel arch cover.so to sum up checked all fuses in the book and no wiser🤥

all sorted now steve😀 i would like to thank you and your mate for your help.as well as removing the negative lead for at least 20 minutes i then removed the maf sensor plug/connector.re-connected the battery and it came up with the yellow wiggly thing on the dash.plugged in the snap on and it came up with the fault and code(see pics) i then plugged the maf sensor back in and cleared the code.and then put the key in without starting the car checked for any codes and itshowed as no codes present👍 stephen

hi all,i am an amateur user so plain english please with any replies thank you.i have an audi a4 avant b8 2011 2.0tdi i was hoping to change the values on the central locking(to unlock all doors with one press of the key if thats possible) through a snap on modis ultra 19.2 but it says at the begining ecu may be disabled or corrupted and i cannot find how to find out how to sort this.it also says no communication is key on.ensure scanner is connected once i tried going through the motion of trying to change the values.....on google it shows a reset button i was going to try but its not there on this scanner.i may have accidently removed or interupted the scanner unconsciously causing this fault please see pictures. any advice to remove these faults would be appreciated thank you

i dont know what the car owes you and i am not asking you to tell me that,but it was wrong of me to ask how much for the interior.your car is too good to sell for parts.there are enthusiasts on ebay who i am sure could get your car up and running....i am no mechanic and it was not my intention to buy it and do it up it would be beyond me for sure i saw your interior and thought oh thats nice...i have seen recently spares or repair cars going for quite a bit.surely for £15 its going to be well worth recuporating some of the money.i have to agree with magnets advice.good luck

i appreciate the offer of the interior,but i would have to agree with magnet that you need to put this on ebay and sell the car complete....i have been looking on gumtree and ebay for the past week but not seen your car on there for sale.this is definately your best option.good luck with your sale stephen
