    Surprise, surprise Nigel. At least the vet has sight of the patient, albeit it cannot tell him what’s wrong. Forums are expected to diagnose faults without access to the vehicle, and often with vague descriptions of the symptoms. Regards, Gareth.

    Hello Tristian, The videos don’t work for me, but judging from the photos, the lip looks sufficient to renew the discs. You have to consider the on going wear situation at the end of the life of the pads you are going to replace. Noise? If you are intending to buy discs and pads, then I’m currently ‘experimenting’ with Brembo - to good effect. You could try Parts in Motion for competitive prices and good service - no personal connection. Regards, Gareth.

    Hello George, How often do you use the CC? I only ask since I’ve had our non-Audi for 3 years and I’m yet to use it despite doing fairly long runs. As you say, with an anticipated bill of c half the value of the car, can you do without it?

    Don’t forget to disconnect the n battery for 30mins before disconnecting any under-seat electrical connectors - or run the risk of air bags going off. Regards, Gareth.

No disrespect, but you appear to be dealing with this in a patient and medical specialist basis, whereby you are trying to diagnose something you are about to pay others to diagnose for you.     If you think it’s an off side wheel bearing, then do a left hand turn and see if the noise becomes louder. N/s bearing suspected - take a right hand turn and see if the noise gets louder.
