Well the recommended brake fluid change intervals is every 2 years. Hope the repaired piston fixes it. When I had a similar issue on an old Ford escort the pistons were sticking in the calipers causing the excess brake pad wear. In my case I fitted a while new caliper including pistons which rectified the fault. That is unusual but it must be due to the current corona virus situation. Cheers Steve

Lol. Oh no not good, I know how you feel as I've been in a similar situation with my back the last couple of days.

I don't think that's too unreasonable. -
You could look at EPC fast road brake pads/discs or a brembo upgrade brake conversion.

How cool do they look. Wouldn't mind driving a hybrid like these 👍

LöhrGruppe remains partner of the VLN until 2022 12.05.2020: The LöhrGruppe has extended its partnership with the VLN. For the next three years, the logo of the traditional automobile trading group with its headquarters in Koblenz will continue to be present on the race control vehicles of the Nürburgring Endurance The LöhrGruppe has extended its partnership with the VLN. For the next three years, the logo of the traditional automobile trading group with its headquarters in Koblenz will continue to be present on the race control vehicles of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Nine Audi Q3s are involved in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and provide valuable services as medical and intervention cars on behalf of safety. Speed plays just as important a role here as reliability and flexibility. This fits in well with the Löhr Group, which is one of the largest automobile trading groups in Germany with currently 33 car dealerships of the brands Volkswagen, VW Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, Seat and Cupra at 13 locations in Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. "We would like to thank the Löhr Group for the confidence placed in us," says Christian Stephani, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG. "Since 2016, the group of companies has been a loyal partner of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. This year, we have extended the cooperation even further so that LöhrGruppe can be seen on all nine Audi Q3s of the race management". At the races of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie the vehicles in the colors of the LöhrGruppe have important functions. Five medical cars are distributed around the Nordschleife and bring medical personnel to where they are needed within minutes during the race. The intervention cars secure unclear sections of the track in case of emergency. They can be used, for example, to shield damaged vehicles for recovery. The Audi 'Duo' could do 24 miles on e-power alone Thought PHEVs were a relatively new phenomenon? Think again, because Audi built its first one way back in 1989. Yup, 1989, the same year British scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web. When cassettes were more popular than CDs, and mobile phones were the size and weight of a brick. And here was Audi, somehow making a petrol engine and e-motor speak the same language. Revealed at the 1990 Geneva Motor Show, the Duo was based on an Audi 100 Avant. Its 2.3-litre, five-cylinder engine sent about 134bhp to the front axle, while a 12bhp e-motor from Siemens (drawing power from a 9kW nickel-cadmium battery mounted under the boot floor) drove the rear. Most of the time the two power sources worked in tandem, but the Duo did have a special electric-only mode that prevented the internal combustion engine from kicking-in. Modern-day PHEVs have such modes of course, accessible via a little button you can press anytime, anywhere. In the Duo, you had to come to a complete halt and shift into neutral. Max range on e-power was 24 miles, at speeds of up to 31mph. It had regen-braking and solar panels on the roof for keeping the battery topped up. Ten were built for testing – one was even trialled as a taxi in Audi’s hometown of Ingolstadt – but none sold. It was 1997 before Audi did a PHEV you could buy. Well, Kinda. The A4 Duo, which Audi claims was the first production plug-in hybrid, combined a 90bhp 1.9-litre diesel with a 29bhp e-motor. Like modern PHEVs it could run at slow speeds for a short while on e-power alone, and was chargeable on the move via regen or from a plug socket. But it was TWICE the price of a normal A4 Avant. Audi apparently expected to sell around 500 cars a year, but by the time production had halted in 1999 it had only built 60. Before its time? You bet. It could be sticking pistons in the calipers. You might need to get the caliper rebuilt. When was the brake fluid last changed too? Cheers Steve
-
Yea it's not easy abd it'll be heavy!
-
Sorry I got it wrong. Sprint blue is very similar to be fair. Cheers Steve

When was the oil last changed in.the gearbox? I'd do a oil change first to see if that helps. Cheers Steve

It is annoying, not sure what else you could try other than taking the bot off and tipping not so the glass comes out. Cheers Steve

Can't go wrong if Audi are cheaper. Definitely sounds like it. Cheers Steve

You're welcome, glad you got it all fixed. Yea that is unusual, the wires weren't rubbing on any metal behind the door panel were they? Cheers Steve

You're welcome 🙂 I'm not sure to be honest. There's certainly not much out there regarding your engine.

Can't say I've used one but you'll find not all of them are compatible with steering wheel controls Cheers Steve -
320bhp 470lb ft torque. Again the gains will depend on the tuner. And it should be run on a rolling road for best results. For example: https://www.celtictuning.co.uk/services/performance-stats/audi/a6-c7-2011-2018/diesel/3-0-tdi-241-bhp-2011-ECU-remap-chiptuning/stage-1 https://www.ecovehicletuning.co.uk/audi-a6-c7-3-0-tdi-ecu-remap/ https://www.onlyrevo.com/product-details/software/audi/a6-c7-2011-/224/stage-1 Also bear this in mind: "The key is HOW the power is delivered; some companies really spike the torque at low RPM’s and this is what will kill your gearbox. With regards to the limits of the S Tronic box if it its 600Nm then thats approx 440lbs ft. I believe post 2012 245bhp engines run 429lbs ft torque standard(?) which doesn't leave much headroom and is unusual for the VAG group as most things have a decent amount of tolerance built in A properly developed map won't hit the box with a slug of torque; it should be smooth and progressive." Cheers Steve
