Various issues can cause the roof to stop working such as failing hydraulic pump, failing switches or clamps for example. At least you've confirmed that the movement of the roof isn't affected (often caused by objects getting jammed in the mechanics of the roof) which is a bonus. It might be worth getting an auto electrician to test the roof to establish what might have failed.
  2. Water in the tail lights could caused by failing light seals. Ideally these should be replaced, but a cheap bodge (not that I recommend such things) is to add a bead of silicone to the seals.
  3. If the module is failing then yes. Maf sensor won't be connected. However out of curiosity how old is the battery? I ask as a failing battery can cause odd electrical gremlins. The normal life of a battery is between 5-7 years.
  4. Keep us posted in how you get on 🙂
  5. Worth seeing if the box is the cause. Don't worry it's not stupid at all, makes me think of all the stuff I normally carry around in the boot lol. If not the box then yes the actuator helps the boot open.
  6. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Cheers Steve
  7. So it could be a maf sensor or oxygen sensor. If it was an abs sensor it would normally say. Might be worth looking for a second hand module before forking out for a new one As I do t think it'll be cheap
  8. Hey Ann I think there's an actuator to open the boot which can fail. Also its worth checking to see if there's anything trapped behind the rear seats or in the boot. We've seen cases on here where a shoe was stopping the roof going down.
  9. You're welcome 😊

Good history, worth checking to see if oil consumption issue is noted.
  11. You're welcome 😀
  12. Please check my thread at the top of this section for 1.8 mods 👍

Well that would be an easier solution, cheaper too.compated to a steering rack. I'd still consider a new battery though, as you might find the car will develop other electrical gremlins. Cheers Steve
  14. So annoying, I did have a look online but I too didn't find anything useful. My advice would be to speak to an Audi specialist or gearbox specialist. Sorry I can't help more
  15. So glad you got it sorted, and thank you for telling us how to fix it, as you say others had had similar issues abd not got back to us on how they fixed it. I'm sure your reply will help others
  16. Have you changed the bulb recently for led ones? If so that could be the reason. In failing that it sounds like it could be a wiring issue.
  17. Hey Ann, I've hidden the image for you. Cheers Steve
  18. Looks in nice condition 🙂
  19. Love the colour
  20. Lovely colour 👍
  21. Good question. I'm sure you'll need a digit code which should come with any radio you buy. But not sure if it needs coding to the car.
