  1. Welcome the forum Derek, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

Sounds like you've been offered some very nice alloys :)

Here is a thread I created with regard to Audi wheel fitments. Hope it helps :)

    Cheers

Just out of curiosity when was a4 last serviced? As it may need an oil change and oil flush. This would be my first choice and what I did with my a6 when I had low oil pressure. The oil change and oil flush solved this issue.

I'm unsure on the water bottle issue. Sorry.

Also we would love to see your a4 in sunny South Africa :) you'd be more than welcome to share any pictures in our Audi's from around the world section :)

    Cheers

  3. Welcome to the forum Alastair, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

What issues has your a4 been experiencing?

I'm assuming you've had a diagnostic check carried out to establish fault codes. The parts you've bought should fit easily but you may need the ecu coding to your car.

Thanks Steve. I called listers Audi and gave my reg, he said he can’t tell which wheels my car has due to several options. He’s asked me to email him picture so I’ll give him your info too. Together we’ll crack it:-)

Glad I could help :) I did look on eBay but had no luck. If you have one center cap then you could give him.the part number. If you don't have any center caps, then you could give him the allot wheel part number which I'm sure will help when he is looking at connected parts. If that makes sense. Usually the wheel part number is stamped into the back of the wheel.on one of the spokes.

  5. Hi Callum, sorry to hear your having issues. I can't say I've seen it previously on here. I'm assuming you've taken your a3 to Audi?

It'll be interesting to see what the tests come back with. But if Audi do say that you need a new headlight (this is the worst case scenario) then I would argue there should be some factory good will applied as the headlights should not need replacing on a 64 plate. Unless your a3 has previously been involved in an accident and not repaired properly. (Again I'm just seeing the worst case scenario).

The adaptive lights are controlled by motors I believe and these can seize or fail, I'm sure.

  6. Welcome to the forum Wayne, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

Id say the fault is linked with the drivers door barrel. On some Audi's the locking system is controlled by the drivers door locking mechanism and if this fails it can cause the central locking to not work properly.

I had a similar issue on my a6 where ,the drivers door locking mechanism started to fail and the car wouldn't unlock properly. I had to have an auto electrician replace the drivers door locking mechanism which cost me around £120.

    Hope I've helped :)

    Cheers

A disk lock will fit the steering wheel and aren't too expensive. I'd also recommend a Faraday pouch to help prevent a potential thief getting hold of the car key signal (I'm assuming your Audi is keyless). Very cheap on eBay

I've also hidden your other thread as it's a duplicate.

    Cheers :)

what about a vag com section where members can ask other members for help and maybe members who have vag com could offer to scan a members car for faults if local to them?

    Could.be a good idea actually :)

Had an interesting call with Dunlop.

All Dunlop tyres have 5 year manufacturing warranty, they have advised that I go back to the garage were they were purchased from  (in some cases that might be the dealer)

And ask them to complete a dealer return form, these tyres will then be sent to Dunlop and farmed off to Germany for further inspection.

(doesn't help if you no longer have them) but I think it is still worth pointing out to Dunlop what issues have arisen especially if like me you have replaced like for like at the 275/30/21 I have are R01 rated - Audi specified tyres.

Under the sale of goods act the cost and refitting will/should  be refunded.

I am going back to me local tyre fitter and ask them to return the tyres to dunlop, it costs them nothing to do this I have been told
