I think speaking to Audi customer services is your next port of call to see if they know why. As I say, you never know but the towbar might be released later down the line.

Welcome to the forum Barry, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 usually towbars cannot be fitted either due to the running gear of the vehicle or due to the chassis set up. This can even includebthings like exhausts being in the way etc. Or Audi may not have approved the towbar for your specific model of Q3. my advice would be to contact witter or westfalia to see if they fit them. cheers Steve

Hmm I'm not sure as the 1.9tdi is the older style engine where as your 2.0tdi was a different unit. Cheers Steve

As it's leaking oil I wonder if it's a gasket? Abd the oil may need changing as you'll loose some once you start separating the affected part. Cheers Steve

Ironically a family friend has now bought a velar abd it is a truly exceptional motor. You're definitely right not keeping it after the warranty period in my opinion. We've had defender 90 abd series landys in the past, they were cracking vehicles 🙂
