  1. Welcome to the forum Barry, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You sure have a great Audi model :) Im not too sure on the phone capabilities of the a8 I'm affraid but I have found this YouTube video which may help: It might be worth you speaking to your Audi dealer to see if there is an issue with the system and in which case a diagnostic check will need to be carried out (£60 approx but wavered if fault found and repaired by Audi). However you may find that you require a SIM card specifically designed for vehicles. If this is the case then I'm sure your network provider or Audi can help. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  2. Welcome to the forum Wayne, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Keep us posted on how you get on with your search :) Cheers Steve
  3. Fair comments Gareth. My initial thoughts would be to use it to clean out the fuel system as u doubt my a6 has ever had a clear out of the fuel system. On top of that I'd be more interested to see if it improves drivability rather than bhp especially in light if the mileage my a7 has covered. It's in good health and well serviced but feels tired if that makes sense. Just thought I'd see if this helps slightly :) Like you, I'm usually sceptical of such products but was surprised at the results on even what a service and ht lead change can do. Cheers Steve
  4. Just watched this fifth gear clip on restoring engine power. It was very informative on how even a service and replacement it leads can bring back lost engine power. The thing I found most interesting was when they applied Redex to the fuel system and was surprised at the increase in horse power. As seen below: When new: 190bhp Now: 177bhp A week after Redex added: 183bhp. Have any of you had experience with Redex or other fuel additives and would you recommend them? Cheers Steve
  5. It can definitely be bonded to the car. This is how my Suzuki swift spoiler was fitted. It's still.on.the car 7 years on. My brother owns it now. Unsure on what product to use as a garage fitted it for me. Cheers Steve
  6. Ah, I'm sorry it didn't fix it. Yep it's £60, however they should waver this if you have the car repaired with them. I'd like to hope that there would be some factory good will (factory discount) on the repair bill as the radio shouldn't have failed after 4 years in my opinion. However I'll admit the radio failed on my a6 when it was less than 3 years old. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  7. Thanks Bal, you're a star!! :) Keep us posted on how you get on :) Cheers Steve
  8. You're welcome Bal, glad I could help :) Let me know how you get on. Better still if you do succeed, a walk through guide with pictures would be great. We can then pin and feature the topic so that others can do the same :) Cheers Steve
  9. You can fit the aux port in the slot next to.your esp light Here's a video that may help: I very rarely recommend other clubs but here's a thread on the Audi world of a step by step guide including pics. https://www.audiworld.com/how-tos/a/audi-a4-b7-how-to-install-auxillary-input-and-ipod-interface-421229 Hope it helps :) Cheers Steve
  10. Drilling the light is the cheapest option and worth a shot before you fit a new unit. It will be interesting to see if any water comes out when you drill it. To be honest I think.its an issue that affects many different cars. Cheers Steve
  11. That's true! The dsg gearbox is (in my opinion) the best auto gearbox on the market. I won't bore you with the mechanics behind it but just make sure the gears change smoothly both in manual and auto mode as any faults can be expensive to fix. Check the service history to see if it's had any work done. The sport mode will just make the gear changes quicker. It doesnt change the suspension or anything like that. That feature came on the mk2 TT. Cheers Steve
  12. Thanks for the heads up Paul :)
  13. Yep I am :)
  14. Have you got any pics? It's probably the light seal. But if there is water in the light cluster then that would explain the intermittent electrical fault with the light unit. Cheers Steve
  15. You're welcome Chris, glad I could help :)
  16. Coolio :) as I say we members are welcome to display their cars on our display :)
  17. You're welcome Matt, glad I could help :) Cheers Steve
  18. Sorry, your admin? If so that's pretty cool :) And I don't think there has been any post to be honest.
  19. Oops, really sorry I've been really stupid! I forget this is the 3.2 and have given you info on.the 1.8 which is cambelt. Your mechanics are correct and the 3.2 is definitely a chain. Sorry about that! 🤦‍♂️ Cheers Steve
  20. Not been accepted yet but I've seen your posts on there :) I'm guessing the a5 convertible owners club aren't having a stand?
  21. Nice one! 😀 It should be a good show :)
  22. Wow, you've really had some bad luck! Glad it's covered under warranty. The Dunlop tyres are becoming a common issue! I'd monitor the oil level to see if it's loosing oil and if it is get them to look at it in the service. The problem is that your a7 will be out of warranty this year! Unless you took extended warranty of course. It might be worth speaking to the garage that noticed the oil leak as they should be able to tell you where the oil leak is coming from. Keep us posted on how you get on. Cheers Steve
  23. Nice one! Get your friends to join on here 😉 You'll all be more than welcome to display your cars on our club display :) I've asked to join the Facebook group :)
  24. Nice one. I'll add you to the list :) what Facebook group is it?
  25. If that fails then unfortunately it'll be a trip to audi I'm affraid. Cheers Steve
