With regard to your first issue I'd advise you get a diagnostic check carried out to establish what the fault actually is. Your other option could be to replace the switch to see if that cures the problem. If it doesn't then you know it's more likely the motor that's gone.
With regard to your second issue, the cheapest option would be to get the interior mirror glue you can get from your local motor factors. I've used both the glue and tape and confirm the glue is better. I've got this experience from my old Ford escort 😉 and as long as neither the base not the mirror are broken you'll be fine. Ie you'll need a clean break to reattach it. Hope that makes sense.
Your other option is to pay your windscreen excess and gave a new windscreen fitted.
