Despite dsg being a great gearbox I don't think any auto is good in the snow. They just can't predict what gear and conditions like we humans can.

Truthfully Jim I'm not sure as I'm don't know enough info on the D2. I'm sure there is a Haynes type manual for it though. The pipe is the a breather pipe is it? Where does the other end go?

As the title says, Audi is teaming up with Nokia and Vodafone to create a 4g network on the moon. Nokia is providing the hardware, vodafone are bringing there networking expertise and Audi are going to provide 2 moon rovers which use the 4g to communicate and stream HD videos of the lunar surface.There will also be a base station with a landing and navigation module for the rovers. The rover will be called the Audi lunar quattro and will be fully electric, have 6 wheels and all wheel drive. Audi's aim is to win Google's $20million lunar xprize. The mission is said to start as early as next year with the hardware being sent to the moon via a space x falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral. This will be the first wireless network on any other planet/moon and Audi's rover will be the first to transverse the moon since the original moon missions. Welcome to the forum Dave, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) In light of the age of your a6 I would get the battery tested (halfords can do this) as it might be on it's way out. The usual life of a battery is 7-10 years. And once the cold weather sets in this kills the battery. In failing that, when was the a6 last serviced? Cheers Steve

I've had a response from the organizers who will be organising this show properly once gti international is out of the way as they organise this show too. They'll then send me a registration form. I'll keep you all posted :)

Welcome to the forum Illya, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The satnav system will fit but I'm.unsire if you'll need to.upgrade the radio receiver and aerial. Your other option is to upgrade your radio to an Audi symphony version. This has a 6 CD changer built in. Here's a picture for reference. Hope I've helped :) Cheers Steve

Welcome to the forum David, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) It might be worth you getting a diagnostic check carried out just to be on the safe side. Also do you know when the gearbox oil was last changed? It might be worth you checking the service history to see if and when it was changed. I believe the oil should be changed at 35k and then every 40k thereafter on the DSG/S-tronic gearbox. Cheers Steve

It's scary most people don't know how to drive in the snow.

I agree It definitely is an eye opener to see how people pay for cars. I've never financed a car as I'm not a big fan of finance to be honest. Plus pcp wouldn't work for me die to the miles I do a year.

Quattro is nice, I find it funny seeing bmws and other rear wheel drive cars struggle.

Welcome to the forum Will, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My first question is the car petrol or diesel? And where did the AA recover you to, home or a garage? The 2.0 litre suffers from rear main crankshaft seal failure as well as pcv valve failure and there was a recall for this. Here's a YouTube video with regard to pcv: The pcv controls the oil pressure and when it fails it can cause an increase in pressure and thus oil leaks. But as I say we need to know your engine to help further. Cheers :) Steve

You're welcome Debbie :) Erm potentially, some Audi's did suffer from damp issues which affected the electrics. Your best bet is to check to see if the front floor carpet is wet as well as the carpet under the dash which is up against the bulkhead. You'll need to check the area of the pollen filter (passenger side footwell) and where the battery sits as these can be common water leakage areas. Oh no! Well.im having an interesting time to be fair. My Ford escort lost coolant completely and my dailys washers froze up. Not even brought the a6 out in the snow or cold weather to be honest.
