  1. Hi Guys, Recently brought a A4 B7 2.0TFSI Avant (55 plate) and are planning on fitting a RaceChip Pro to it, just wanted to know if I should change the diverter valve? As I've heard they fail!! Not sure if it's the old type above or the newer type below? Appreciate any help that you have.... Regards Robin.
  2. Excellent condition 2010 A4 Avant 2.0Tdi S-Line Special Edition (B8) for sale. Cambelt and water pump have been replaced, service history, new front brake pads. Stop/Start, daytime running lights, xenon headlights, parking sensors, leather s-line trim, alloys, s-line sports suspension, electric windows & mirrors (heated), auto lights, phone prep, bluetooth, audio, no issues on last mot. steering wheel controls, computer, etc. etc... £10,450
  3. Hello! Just joined up on the forum after reading several interesting threads. I have two Audi A4 (B6) Avant 1.9Tdi, one is 02 plate and the other is a 04 plate Quattro, I absolutely love these cars not only are they reliable and capable of everything that you throw at them they are comfortable and a pleasure to drive. I currently use the 02 plate for our work where we restore classic Mini's, its our 'works' tractor and pulls mini's on the trailer with ease. Its on an amazing 204300 miles at the moment and recently survived a side swipe on the motorway from a foreign lorry that hadn't seen me in his blind spot. Its now a CAT D but its back on the road still with the body damage but perfectly safe and legal. I bought the 04 plate with the insurance payout but so far it has only been used for family needs. Its in remarkable condition and it is now up to a good 177000 miles and running well. Having said that both have some issues which I am hoping to find out some information about on here :-)
  4. Hi. I recently purchased a 2014 A6 Avant 2.0 tdi ultra black edition, which I believe is the latest 190PS engine. I was told the car would do around 60MPG combined, which I understand is never going to be realistic but still I would expect 50MPG when driven carefully on a long run. Now the car is mostly used by my wife to do short 2-3 mile journeys daily, mostly school runs and trips to the supermarket. Now I know this sort of driving is not going to give the best MPG, but I am only getting around 34MPG and in some instances 25-30MPG. I bought the car partly for its MPG, but this is crazy as it costs £80 to fill up and doesn't take long for it to need refilling. The car is driven slowly in ECO mode, but is this correct that I am getting such a low MPG? I hope someone else can shed some light if they have had similar experiences as I am seriously considering selling it for something more fuel efficient for this type of driving. Any thoughts on a alternative car would be much appreciated. thanks Ben
  5. Hi i need some advice , i'm trying to find decent garage in Nottingham where someone help me to droop down my a6 , i need advice what suspension i should use and ruffly cost of this operation . Regards
  6. Hi All, Have just found the Forum in some spare time. Great information. Bit about me. First car I bought after passing my test was my uncles Audi 100 5E saloon Auto (C2). Such a great car an I was privileged to own such a high range car at the age of 19! Messed around with various Japanese cars for a few years then bought an Audi Coupe GT. What a car. According to the Police officer who attended that crash (head on by a Louts Driver) not caused by me. If it hadn't been a German car I wouldn't be alive. I will find some pics from my files soon and post. Has an Audi A90 Quattro as a company car as well. Been through the usual BMW phase (expensive to maintain), and VW's but back to an Audi A6 Avant S line 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic. Bought it as an ex-demo car from main dealer (was a Le-mans pre-issue spec) at 6,500 miles and now coming up to 194,000!! Great dealer service from Leicester Audi and love my car. Cant find any excuse to change it really! More soon Carl
  7. Does anyone on this forum have a 2016 A4 Avant 2.0? I'm seriously considering buying one but I'm put off a little by some reviews I've read. Claimed combined consumption is around 70mpg but a couple of the motoring mags say that in real life it's about 40 which isn't that good these days. Any owners who can tell me please? Anything else about the new Avant I should be aware of? Thanks.
  8. Hello, This is my first post on the forum, I did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for, sorry if this has already been covered. After doing my research, the best car for me, is a 2005-2008 A6 (C6) Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro. I do mixed driving, covering city, motorway, dual carriageway and the twisty windy country B roads. I’ve always been a manual driver (love having that extra control) but for this particular car, will I have to change my ways and opt for an auto? I don’t mind autos, both have their pros and cons… but would the knowledgeable Audi drivers please step forward with some advice. I understand I’m looking for the ‘older model’ therefore my main concern is not necessarily about handling or mpg...I’m more interested in maintenance and reliability. Which one has the least problems, which is more reliable, manual or automatic and why? I look forward to hearing from those in the know.
  9. Hi guys, New to the Forum (and Audi owning). After a few VW Golf's I decided a change was needed, more so because we have a 6 month old son who is growing FAST. I picked up a Dark Blue, B6 Avant yesterday (pic attached) - 80,000 miles, some service history and the all important timing belt has been changed at 71,000 miles. It is the 2003 2.0 FSI model which I know is not the most desirable BUT I'm a practical guy, wanted something NON-turbo so that it's relatively simple. I'm not looking for speed/acceleration, more so economy and lower running costs and th ability to get involved my self. It'll be a WorkHorse more than anything. Exterior is great - no rust/scratches or dents, interior is grubby to say the least - was owned by a middle aged Electrician who must have used it as a work horse - it'll need a deep clean - lots of trim broken (arm rest/glove box/worn buttons etc). I can deal with that in time (Ebay). Asking price was £1,985 but got it for £1,500 on basis interior was messy. I feel it was a fair price. I wanted to know what you think i should look at engine-wise as most people would consider doing when they get an older second hand car for the first time? I'm thinking oil change, plugs, clean air filter and pollen filter? Should i stump up and do the coil packs as well as know that they can be problematic? MAF meter perhaps? Any other suggestions? On start up the car stutters a little and engine 'wobbles' around, but after a few revs/drive it warms up and calms down, idling well. All in all everything seems to work fine still, E/mirrors, E/Windows, Cruise Control etc. Got 41MPG crusing back to London on the M40 last night (albeit at 60-65 mph). Was expecting more like mid-30's, so pleased on the whole. Tracking out marginally, but i'll get that sorted. I'm used to a MK7 Golf company car and the brakes are sharp and responsive - this Audi feels like you have to stand on the brakes to get it to stop - is this because it's 13 years old and the car is heavier or could the pads need changing (tricky to say without seeing, I know)? No brake light on the dash. Sorry if this topic has been raised a trillion times, just getting to grips with navigating around the site. thank you in advance. E
  10. Hello all, I currently own an A6 Avant, 3.0 TFSI engine, Quattro drivetrain with S-Tronic auto gearbox, S-Line trim with Technology Pack and Comfort Pack. Full S/H - just serviced and MOT'd two weeks ago @ 36,000 miles. The full advert is on autotrader at present…http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201603011527490 I won’t bore you with all the intricate details as you guys know more about Audi’s than most, but this car is the top of range A6 avant model, the 3.0 V6 supercharged engine delivers 300PS, and 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds, it has sport mode and launch control which create truly astonishing acceleration for a car of this size. Paddle gear shift on steering wheel for semi-auto mode, making this car seriously fun and exciting to drive. Sports suspension. Full valcona leather trim inside, heated seats, heated multi-function 3 spoke steering wheel with voice activation for sat nav and phone etc. Tech pack – MMI High, with MMI Touch - touch sensitive pad beside gear selector, letters/numbers can be 'drawn' with finger. Larger sized full colour LED monitor with DVD player in the front, Audi Connect to access internet searches for news, weather, parking searches etc, and google maps overlay for the sat nav. Full colour dash display behind steering wheel for sat nav, speedo, and all the usual. DAB Radio. HDD for Audi ‘Jukebox’, music can be saved directly to hard drive in car. Advanced parking system - Front forward and both front corner cameras, and rear backward and both rear corner cameras, automatically activated when parking system is engaged (when car is in reverse or button pressed on dash) and shown on LED display. Comfort pack – full electronically adjustable front seats, heated. Drivers seat has memory function, can be set with preset buttons on drivers door, or programmed to the two individual Advance Keys, wing mirror positions can also be saved. Sports seats, very comfortable. Tailgate electrically operated, opened and closed from inside car, or with button on Advance Key, or button on tailgate. Audi first aid kit in rear armrest, with ‘ski hatch’. Full Xenon Plus headlight system. Rear LED lights. It is a beautiful car, and very hard to get hold of with the TFSI petrol engine, but it blows the socks off any other engines on offer, apart from the V8 S and RS models of course. Engine can be tuned by Revo or other reputable company – Revo worked extensively with this very engine model and have built their software around it – only reason I didn’t get it done is that when I took it to VAS in Guildford last year it turned out that Audi had upgraded the onboard software before I picked it up, and Revo hadn’t had a chance to map the upgrade yet, so missed out. Only selling as getting an Audi company car through work, and can’t justify keeping hold of it, plus there isn’t room on the drive! Had some interest through Autotrader, but wanted to open it up to serious Audi lovers who will actually appreciate the car for what it is. Priced to sell - £25,000. Thanks! Andy
  11. Hi everyone My A4 Avant has recently started leaking on what seems to be a common problem to do with the cam belt and chain grinding through a housing at the top of the engine. My mechanical knowledge unfortunately goes to the electronic kind rather than auto so Im hoping someone has either an engine they want to sell, or can offer me a quote on souring and fitting it! Thank you A
  12. Hi, I have recently bought a 2004 A4 Avant. The car is fitted with the bose sound system and have a single slot CD player with radio. My question to you guys is, am i able to fit Audi's sat nav system straight in? I just feel like the gap that will be left once i remove the current system won't be large enough to accommodate the new. I hope that this all makes sense and would really appreciate an answer, with suggestions if it is an issue but there are ways around. Cheers in advance Charlie
  13. Hi guys I'm selling my a4 as I'm after a diesel. 2001 a4 avant 1.8t 84000 miles full audi service history with the cam belt and water pump changed. Any info or pictures please call or email as I cannot upload pictures to here from my phone. Cheers sam. 07710589855

  15. Hi, I am currently looking for a 2008-2010 Audi A4 Avant.... not too worried if 2.0 diesel or petrol but would prefer the S Line or Limited Edition. What are the big things i should check please? i've noticed several adverts saying they have had water pumps changed which on a fairly newish car seems a little worrying... Not worried about recalls as i can check with Audi whats outstanding when i get one more worried about anything costly that could result in even more expense if not done :/ Thanks in advance for any tips :) Cant wait to get one
  16. hey all. i've owned the car for about a year and do enjoy it immensely, although i am sometimes frustrated by a lack of power, but this should change with a remap coming soon (see below). I love the build quality of the audi, my ex had a bmw and i thought that was a well made car until i bought this! despite my gripes at the lack of power (mainly brought on by owning faster cars and my mates having scoobies) the car is quick, i always like to remind my mates that from A to B, especially around where I live in the Scottish Borders it's just as quick as their jap beasts, and immensely more comfortable! The main reason I went 2 grand over my budget and bought this car was that it was a quattro and I love how planted the car feels in both the dry and wet! that being said the body roll at speed can be too much sometimes. The only negative I can say with the quattro is the real-life MPG figures aren't impressive. I do have a heavy right foot from time to time but on a 6 month average of everyday driving (social and domestic use only Mr Insurance) i returned 33.3 MPG. The car currently is running on Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres, and is completely standard with no notable factory optional extras fitted. Anyway that's enough of boring things like fuel economy. I have attached all the photos I've managed to take in a year of ownership (pretty pathetic amount tbh). I don't have the private plate on the car anymore that is my exes. What I want to do: This is where you guys come in. I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do to the car, but the application of the idea is where I ain't so great! Below is a list of "mods" (hate that word I feel like 17yr old boyracer even typing it!) I want to do to the car - any additions, subtractions or general comments would be much appreciated on them!! Alloy refurb and colour change to either graphite or shadow chrome Lowered on coilovers [not sure as to 40 or 60 drop and reputable brands, any ideas????] I've read about RS4 anti roll bars being a good upgrade - any ideas? Uprated brakes - i've done no research on this any ideas? R8 style LED headlights LED rear lights LED fog light cluster Exhaust system [again any ideas here guys and gals????] Performance Air filter [brands etc???] Remap (hoping for 205-215bhp) Button Start (this is mainly cos i have a blank button missing next to the TCS button and thought it would be more interesting that putting a blank in) Blue tint interior light replacement Auto-folding wing mirrors Cruise Control Double din head unit with reversing camera [brands?] I don't for one minute think I am going to get all of these done as my time isn't always free and my pockets aren't bottomless, but in an ideal world this is what I would have.
