  2. @Jotenhiem when you have the errors on the dash, are they the yellow warning messages, or have you ever seen the red one? If you’ve seen the red one, then you’re probably past the point where replacing the sensor won’t solve the issue I’m afraid. I let mine get to red warning and only then the brakes started juddering, so it sounds like the abs unit may have failed already, based on my experience If you haven’t seen any red warnings, then I wonder if the new part you’ve got is defective? You could try buying a couple from eBay or somewhere else and see if that solves the issue?
  3. Hi unsure if people still reply on this but I have the same issue and it's come up with 3 fault codes , I've read the throttle sensor can make the car go in limp mode .

  5. That must be about the only electrical problem I haven't had on mine yet Steve!
  6. That's a good point Dave.

  8. Ah, an R8, I can only dream! Lovely car mate, and welcome to the group. And I'd love to see some pictures of your car if you get chance to post some.
  9. You'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It's probably the roof clamps that has failed. Problem if you can't get into the boot as you could manually control the boot from there.
  10. I know how this feels. Still need an engine for my A6. All the second hand ones don't come with service history or unconfirmed mileage etc.
  11. Get the part number and buy a second hand headlight to see if that cures the problem.
  12. Try this mate, I don't know if it's applicable to your model and year but it worked perfectly for me so it might be worth a try. 2003 A6 C5 key reprogramming (two key method) - Audi A6 (C5) Forum - Audi Owners Club (UK)
  13. Hi Val, I have the exact same issues, TPMS light on dash is on with messages on Auto Stop/Start failure, Stabilisation control ECS/ABS fault and Tyre pressure system fault. Was it the TPMS bulb on the dashboard that had fallen out or was it a sensor elsewhere? Appreciate the help, thanks
  14. Unless the service plan is through VWFS (Volkswagen financial Services) I wouldn’t bother. the T&Cs through this service plan scheme ensure any dealer network franchise coverage as well as additional leverage to resolving complaints or defects thereafter a service. having worked in the motortrade I have sold used car service plans; you often read genuine parts and this is not always the case and I have often seen inspections and oil changes being done in 20 minutes or less. The oil gets changed but the inspection in my opinion is not the same. Main dealer networks rely on high turn over of customers in and out the doors. They pay their workshop staff bonuses based on speed not quality. echoing what others have said id personally put money away and chose an independent specialist where your get main dealer experience and better value for money, in most cases.
  15. The visual level on the dipstick is the one to rely on. The electronic level sensor sometimes goes awry and should be renewed.
  16. Please note, the reason given for warning this poster is not ‘ Not responding to posts’ (apologies - system error) but for unacceptably disrespectful comments. Incidentally, ‘Your’ should be written as ‘you are’. There we go, you’ve learned something new today!
  17. Hi, can anyone help me with a problem I have with my air conditioning, when I start a journey my air conditioning works perfectly and for as long as the journey lasts, no matter the time or distance. As soon as I stop and then restart the engine the air conditioning blows warm, if I keep switching the air conditioning on and off it will eventually restart, sometimes quite quickly and sometimes it takes a long time, when it does come back on it works perfectly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  25. I agree a second opinion would be worthwhile, however I think you will be very lucky to win a warranty claim on a six year old car.
  26. Aircon compressor could be at fault. Has the system been pressure tested?
