  2. Good evening dear colleagues and Audi owners, on my Audi A6 c7 2014. 3.0 bitdi quattro the yellow engine appeared on the dashboard, and I put obd 11 to see what error I get and I discovered a P242B, I understood that it is an exhaust gas temperature sensor, and I would like if any colleague could tell me where it is located and a code on the part to change it, thank you!
  3. Repeating :-well worth putting the pair of Hankooks on the front.

  5. You don’t need a tester to inspect the condition of the cables within the flexible harness section Kieran.
  6. mate did a scan and this is what came up ....i did repair my glovebox the other day and turned the passenger airbag off and disconnected the wires .....maybe thats summat to do with the problem???? 1,Audi,,2008,WAUZZZ8P28A173279,979860329838,1749829495,-1.pdf 2.pdf
  7. Mine has been fine for some weeks now, I did have issues caused by my dashcam. That may not be relevant to an A3 though as it depends where the radio aerial is located, on a Q3 it is in the rear window glass. On a Q3 the Update Station List option is at the top of the main station listing screen on each waveband, it is NOT on the Memory list screen.
  8. Hello Colin, Much has already been said on here about VAG’s current recommendation of not renewing belts until c140K miles, with no age limit. You will see from a search that the forum generally does not hold with that schedule, and suggests sticking with their previous recommendation of change at c75K miles, or 5 years - whichever comes first. The logic will be outlined in the searched threads, but basically boils down to VAG are not in the business to sell dealer time in changing cam belts - but selling new vehicles. If a vehicle’s engine expires due to belt breakage, then they have an opportunity to sell a new vehicle. Worth a search and a read Colin. Please let us know what you decide to do. Regards, Gareth.
  9. Any smell in the car I’d be looking at ant-bacterial treatment on air conditioning. You can get similar smell from screen wash reservoir if not using correct additive. If it’s from the car under load, next thing to check would be catalytic converters.
  10. No, never tried it. Cheapest VCDS package is £225 for 3 VIN licence, plus an old laptop. Works on all VAG cars, so Audi, VW, Skoda, etc. Very useful for this procedure. Remember and hook up battery on trickle charge when swapping out discs and pads. You can use it for fuel pump priming, clearing DTCs, fault finding, etc.

  12. Does that mean you were not given the service history by Audi when you purchased it?
  13. Only it it is any good, and you won't know that unless you get it tested, in which case you might as well get the fitted battery tested. Let me emphasise that simple voltage readings from a multimeter will not tell you if the battery is in good condition. A battery can show over 12 volts and yet have internal faults that can interfere with the delicate electronics of the car causing a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms, one of those symptoms being a lack of error codes on low quality OBD readers. Until you get the battery tested we can not eliminate it as the cause of the starting problem.
  14. Hello thanks for the advice the ccm ending in a K is only up to 2002 the saloon I have is a 2001 I have found a ccm online identical part numbers so I must get that ordered and now I must try and salvage a few of my connectors instead of having to rewire in all new ones I was thinking of trying to split the case of my own ccm and salvage it but when I got to the inside I can firmly say it is long gone unfortunately hahaha
  15. Never did come back. Might be worth trying a PM if no response.
  16. Glad to hear the problem is solved and that you don't need yet another starter motor.
  17. There will be a means of adjusting the intensity of the instrument panel lights - are you sure this hasn’t been set to minimum? Do you have both dip and main beam lights? When you say ‘flash’ do you mean the headlamp flasher doesn’t work? Regards, Gareth.
  18. I doubt it Richard. Any significant modification usually invalidates the warranty, whether it is related to the problem or not. For your sake I'd be glad to be proved wrong.

  21. Hello Riyss, So much data to read and understand. I don’t know what the regulations are in your country, but here, any vehicle driven on tyres with 1mm of tread (if I’ve read correctly) would be illegal and I would guess - worldwide? - any owner driving on such tyres would not be demonstrating a high regard for their vehicle’s maintenance. Aren’t there any others to choose from? Regards, Gareth.
  22. Oh wow, great stuff Tony 😊 sorry I've not arranged shows this year. Since my Audi is off the road and my mate Jack emigrated with his TT I've lost the heart to organise the stands.

  24. Hello Perhaps this may help, I got a new Q3 that switches the radio station in the morning, I thought it was random and reported SEVERAL times to AUDI and the answer was always evasive. After many trials I was able to replicate in a consistent way the problem as follows. 1- Save some radio station into favorites, lets call A, B, C 2- Play some music on radio station B, 3- move to FM and chose radio station ZZ without saving it to favorites!! 4- Go back to favorites, and the radio station should be still B 5- Switch off the car and wait around 5 minutes 6- Turn the car and you will see how for a half of a second the radio station B will be displayed and then, the radio will move out of Favorites and tune the radio station you chose in step 3 --> ZZ I documented this with a lot of videos. I have claimed to Audi, they changed the steering wheel buttons, the radio, programmed it several times and still they haven't solved the problem, but the last time they acknowledged to know the problem since 2021!!! there is a TPI that describes EXACTLY what i have reported but of course this wont be disclosed as it. So conclusion, the problem is not a problem is "normal" to some Audio MMI systems but even a 10 USD radio bought online will keep the station in the favorites !!

  26. Evening, recently purchased A6 2018 2.0TDI and had the glow plug relay changed twice after the EML came on with the p0670 fault code. Clearly it's not two new relays, the fault once cleared comes back after about 3-4 engine starts which suggests it is an intermittent fault. The last autoelec that checked said all 4 Glow plugs are fine and also the GP fuse is GOOD changed the relay and light came back on😭. I'm thinking to get the GP fuse changed anyway not sure of location of the fuse if anyone knows the location? or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Audi A6 SE 2.0 TDI 90ps 38000mls
  27. I took mine out opened it up and gutted it and welded it back up (it CAN be done without dropping the subframe) it was a bit tight ....i also blocked off the EGR and had to pay £250 to have a remap to turn off the DPF light (delete) it has gone trhu 2 mots since but was a bit smokey ....there is an american on utube who showed it being done but he did replace it with a straight pipe ,which you cant do in this country unfortunately.
  28. I think it's clipped on. You might find it's cheaper to replace the whole airbag from a used one from eBay.
