Ok so far. Iv test every fuse including both sets under the bonnet. Popped over seen garage he is of the similar opinion and said to test earthing. Iv test the earthing by jump lead from -at battery to engine block. I've tried to jump start the car the doner car wasn't very big tho. Iv ordered a large capacity jump pack and a newer charger. If that don't work I'll have to push it upto the garage. I've seen that you can manually get the car out off park. But that won't be till next week. Will keep feed upto date with progress. Thanks Grant

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
Deadrich replied to PocketsAintEmptyCuh's topic in Audi A7 Club
Has anyone got experience of having this replaced with TD1 registered? Work was approved then declined by local dealer as TD1 flag detected. I had EGR mapped out earlier this year after spending fortune replacing the intake manifolds. Dealer are saying it’s no longer covered under the 7yr warranty. I’ve escalated to Audi, not holding breath, but wondered if anyone else has had experience in similar situation. - Today

Help: Audi A6 (C8) 2019 PPI and service record advise

Hello Riyss, So much data to read and understand. I don’t know what the regulations are in your country, but here, any vehicle driven on tyres with 1mm of tread (if I’ve read correctly) would be illegal and I would guess - worldwide? - any owner driving on such tyres would not be demonstrating a high regard for their vehicle’s maintenance. Aren’t there any others to choose from? Regards, Gareth.- 2 replies

Now that I'm not sure. It's a risk for sure. Might be smooth seeking the advice from an auto electrician on that one.

Oh wow, great stuff Tony 😊 sorry I've not arranged shows this year. Since my Audi is off the road and my mate Jack emigrated with his TT I've lost the heart to organise the stands.

Hello Perhaps this may help, I got a new Q3 that switches the radio station in the morning, I thought it was random and reported SEVERAL times to AUDI and the answer was always evasive. After many trials I was able to replicate in a consistent way the problem as follows. 1- Save some radio station into favorites, lets call A, B, C 2- Play some music on radio station B, 3- move to FM and chose radio station ZZ without saving it to favorites!! 4- Go back to favorites, and the radio station should be still B 5- Switch off the car and wait around 5 minutes 6- Turn the car and you will see how for a half of a second the radio station B will be displayed and then, the radio will move out of Favorites and tune the radio station you chose in step 3 --> ZZ I documented this with a lot of videos. I have claimed to Audi, they changed the steering wheel buttons, the radio, programmed it several times and still they haven't solved the problem, but the last time they acknowledged to know the problem since 2021!!! there is a TPI that describes EXACTLY what i have reported but of course this wont be disclosed as it. So conclusion, the problem is not a problem is "normal" to some Audio MMI systems but even a 10 USD radio bought online will keep the station in the favorites !!

Evening, recently purchased A6 2018 2.0TDI and had the glow plug relay changed twice after the EML came on with the p0670 fault code. Clearly it's not two new relays, the fault once cleared comes back after about 3-4 engine starts which suggests it is an intermittent fault. The last autoelec that checked said all 4 Glow plugs are fine and also the GP fuse is GOOD changed the relay and light came back on😭. I'm thinking to get the GP fuse changed anyway not sure of location of the fuse if anyone knows the location? or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Audi A6 SE 2.0 TDI 90ps 38000mls

I gutted my DPF after many attempts to clean it with all sorts of chemicals/soap etc etc i now have a smokey smell and the mrs hates it,wasnt sure wether it was all that crap i pumped thru it?? or that its because it hasnt got a DPF now??? can you describe the smell??
-
I took mine out opened it up and gutted it and welded it back up (it CAN be done without dropping the subframe) it was a bit tight ....i also blocked off the EGR and had to pay £250 to have a remap to turn off the DPF light (delete) it has gone trhu 2 mots since but was a bit smokey ....there is an american on utube who showed it being done but he did replace it with a straight pipe ,which you cant do in this country unfortunately.

I think it's clipped on. You might find it's cheaper to replace the whole airbag from a used one from eBay.

The oil temperature gauge issue could be due to a faulty sender. Similarly, the in tank fuel level variable resistor maybe at fault or sticky. Not absolutely certain with your c30 year old model, but it was very common to encounter a voltage stabiliser on earlier vehicles. This small unit was generally in circuit with the gauges and served to ‘damp’ the gauges - by lowering the voltage to c10 volts. Well worth checking the circuit diagrams. Regards, Gareth.

Hi all. Does any one have info or Wiring diagram for our problem. This is that the when unlocking the front top latch to release the hood nothing happens as should, windows do not drop and button to raise rear hood cover flap does not operate. This my wife's Cabrio owed since new in 1992. Many thanks Jack

Hi. I have exactly the same problem on my 2016 A3. Thank you all for your endeavours to fix the problem, I hope mine will mend too......... ? I'll have to check in the morning the I have the same software; RMC_EU_P16342 If this is still relevant ? Have just scrolled to the top of my MEMORY list of radio stations and can't get 'Update Station List' I merely get the first Radio station in my list. Does anyone have any clues how I get the 'Update Station List' prompt up please ?

I think the same thing has happened on my Audi A4 b9 2017. It looks easy enough to replace but not sure if it's recirculation or fresh air control motor. I need to find someone with VDCS who can do it for me, don't suppose you're near Northampton way by any chance? Do you know the part number?

I was planning on adding to the forum at the point there was something worthwhile to update the forum on. I didn't see the point in messaging regularly to say nothing new to report. Thankfully the warning has only appeared in few and far between instances recently. As noted above it only tends to be when starting the engine when already hot (after popping into a shop etc). Whilst I don't think the issue is gone, I have been very busy recently and dealing with the car has not been a priority. I am following the advice of my local mechanic and seeing how things go for now before deciding upon the next steps.

Thank you for the suggestion Gareth. I’ll have a look at the part website. I understand that now, thank you for your help. Dan
