Please keep us posted on how you get on after fitting it.

Definitely get a second opinion. The service advisor gets a commission on uoselling of work carried out. You're better waiting for the parts to be genuinely worn out in my opinion.

Have you tried AliExpress or autodoc?

Thanks, I'll watch the video for future reference just in case. When I took it to the independent specialist I did put the queries forward to them but they didnt think it was injector issue or misfire as nothing came up during diagnostics. I think it's just going to be one of those issues where I won't find it, until it goes wrong. Think my biggest concern was the auto box, I have very little knowledge regarding them and have had some previous bad experience with the previous gen tipronic 😞

Possibly one of the clips that secure it is loose or misaligned. Is there any sign it has been removed since manufacture? Think scratches or cracks around the lip where a lever might have been inserted.

I haven’t checked nothing myself the mechanic checked it and said it was the Conrad bearings on gearbox which I don’t really have a clue much about them but after doing a little research my gearbox don’t make a grinding noise or any sort of noise whilst I’m have the issue it has happened 3 or 4 times ever since I have left the car parked at the garage

Hi mate I’m positive it’s the chain, however I haven’t had it done yet as it is an expensive job, around £3000, I do have warranty but it’s with warranty wise and their reviews are shocking

Q5 charging - charger cable welded to pin L1 in Q5 socket
cliffcoggin replied to GOM42's topic in Audi Q5 Club
I find most big companies do all they can to avoid talking to their customers. Phones that aren't answered except by robots, AI help assistants that send one round in circles, email addresses withheld, letters that aren't answered. It all amounts to taking your money then hiding behind impenetrable barriers. -
That's right, I noticed a horrible smell when driving the car and it turned out the gearbox oil was leaking onto the exhaust. The garage did an oil change again free of charge.

A3 8v - 1.4TSFI (VCDS error codes) - Gear selector & Boost
Sunnyp9 replied to Sunnyp9's topic in Audi A3 (8V) Forum
Just to add, i’ve also been experience an increase in fuel consumption. I’m guessing this is down to the boost sensor fault or wiring issue! -
A hood sensor perhaps you mean? Yes it could be, but if two of the wires into the door were damaged there is a good chance others are also damaged. In your position I would investigate those again before spending on a new sensor. The damage to the insulation may not be easily visible and may extend further than you expect. While you have the door card off it would be worth checking the window switch connectors are not damaged, and that any earth wires are well attached. A multi meter would also help to test continuity and the switch contacts if you have one.

Hello all, Hoping you can help me pinpoint the issue. My 2018 A4 started shaking at idle a bit ago, when pulling codes I had misfires on all cylinders. The car will drive just fine, doesn't feel like there's any loss of power. At idle when it starts to shake I can put it in park or neutral and rev it to 4k RPM and then the issue goes away for a little bit. Because of this I started my google search to see if anyone could point me in the right direction before I start pulling apart and replacing stuff. Someone said if there's a vacuum or pressure when removing the oil cap it could be the Oil Separator, so I changed that out. Nothing changed.... I moved to the Coil Packs and Spark Plugs... Still no change. I'm at a bit of a loss, I was thinking of doing the injectors, & since the intake manifold would be off clean up the carbon build up and replace the water pump (Ive gotten the code for it randomly a few times but it never stays). I really rather not spend all that money if there's a more common cause that could be the issue that I just haven't considered. Does anyone have any input on this?

Not a lot these days. Consecutive bad governments are to blame for that.

Hello Russell Might be well worth searching for brokers who deal with UKI. Regards, Gareth.

Hello Alan, Is this suitable? Maybe, but my recommendation was for Gates - not had any experience of this manufacturer. Have you sourced a supplier of Gates yet? Length? Sorry no idea, you would have to measure the existing one. Regards, Gareth.

Changing the latches sounds like a lot of work for something that may not solve the fault. Have you dismissed the earlier suggestions regarding the fault? As for the warning being OTT, see the green banner towards the top of each main forum page addressed to new members. It's strange that some people have excuses for not seeing forum responses but always see warnings. If your problem warranted the effort to write a question, surely it deserves as much effort to look for replies.

You could also try one of the independant workshops belonging to HEVRA. Do let us know the outcome.

The mechanic says he checked for that when the pads were replaced, because that's when this whole saga started.

Cheers Steve, I'm looking to sell my S4 but want it working fully before doing so. I'd gladly pay someone for their time and skills plus I'd travel to them. Also, it'd give me the chance to see VCDS in use to know whether it would be worth getting in the future as I do have another Audi. Unfortunately my wife's car is not a VAG car. Cheers, Chisy

Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 I think there's only one fog light. I'd check the wiring on the boot switch but the switch itself might be at fault. You're best bet is finding a used fridge on eBay and ask the seller if they have all the wiring etc to go with it.

trying to strip some 18” alloys but having trouble
spartacus 68 replied to frankA38PA's topic in Wheels And Tyres
Refurburbishing alloys is a thankless task, and to be honest it’s one of these things best left to the professionals and powder coating, rebalance, etc. That’s different if it was just a scuff, but this is a full strip-down. The time, cost of materials, including zinc etch primer, base coat primer, colour coat and a few coats of lacquer soon mounts up. If you’re determined to do it, then the alloys need to be spotless. Paint wise, then Würth silver metallic is as close to Audi OE as you’ll get.
