Hello. Thank you for your reply. Although the problem is the same, the origin must be different, since the car always gives an EVAP system error, and I never turned off the intelligent coasting system. Tomorrow it will go back to the garage. Let's see what the "project" for a solution is this time. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty when I bought the car, so I still have the warranty until October 2026. I hope that is enough time for the Audi technicians to find a solution... Best regards

The clicking noise usually comes from the starter solenoid which you have not mentioned yet. Has it been checked?

To add to Steve Q's reply, if a new battery is needed ensure you get it coded to the car. -

Hello Paul, You seem to have posted your advert. and simply not returned to the forum to read responses. Would you be kind enough to return to the forum please. -
Welcome Andrew and thanks for joining. By your description of ‘a groove wearing ..’ would suggest some component is touching the tyres at the site of the groove - either suspension related, or a steering/ suspension component, rather than an alignment issue. You should be able to determine where by turning the wheels on to full lock and looking under the car. However, as Steve says, it would be well worth you getting the car assessed at a trusted local tyre retailer. Regards, Gareth.

Thank you for response much appreciated. Have a feeling it will be main dealer then, as message on screen says contact main dealer as not enabled. I would rather pop standard one on windscreen. Don't understand why sd cards not widely available though

Thanks mate, will give it a try and let you know.

Mrglee started following Dash gauge problems

Got two gauges playing up Oil temp sometimes slams straight over to 180 c before starting give it a tap goes back to where it should then creeps back to 180 will it do this if bad/lost connection ? Or bad dial? Fuel gauge only reads from 7/8 of a tank to full no matter how far I drive this has happened recently was perfect before.

Also I r just found this workshop diagram which should help. The link gives a full breakdown. https://workshop-manuals.com/audi/a3_mk2/power_unit/4-cylinder_tdi_unit_injector_engine_(2.0_ltr._4-valve)_mechanics/exhaust_system/exhaust_gas_recirculation_system_vehicles_with_engine_codes_azv_bkd/connection_diagram_for_vacuum_lines/

It's probably a case of one issue but mechanics are struggling to diagnose it. What engine has the A1 got and how many miles?

the battery was changed to a new one, then the old battery was placed back into the car since it was tested and working completely fine, and the added fact that the car couldnt jump start- just so complicated! i keep getting told its the starter motor but im a little bit suspicious since its been changed to a new one and the narrative with that is that new starter motors can be faulty/ not the correct one. also i was driving it around for weeks before this completely fine almost everyday then suddenly all these issues 😞
-
You're welcome, happy to help. If the car has sat along time it might be worth considering the battery being at fault. Especially if it's over 5 years old. You could get this tested to see if it's working properly.

From looking online I'd suspect more the pipe first.

Code P0670 on 2010 1.6 A3 issues .. newbie
Steve Q replied to Jimbo Jones's topic in New Members Introductions
I'd recommend looking at getting the current battery tested, especially if it's over 5 years old. Failing batteries can often throw up electrical gremlins or warning lights. Another common cause of end warning lights is either the brake lights not working or brake light switch. Also worth checking all fuses relating to the braking system just to be sure. -
thats the clicking noise IMG_3147.mov

unfortunately i was a bit stupid and bought it from a private seller :(- a family friend but there have been no issues with the car when the previous owner drove it. the only other thing i can think of is it was parked at the dads workplace for a good few months and not switched on/ used, i had my own theory of corroded cables? the cars has been to 2 seperate mechanics and had diagnostic tests and they both came to the same conclusion the 'clicking' noise- the best way i can describe it when i put the key in and the car wont even crank is a starter motor issue. new mechanic is going to put in a working starter motor and test it in that way. the imobiliser has not been mentioned at all. and thank you so much, really really appreciative for the response its been a month of this!
-
If this has been bought from a dealer in the last 30 days then it should be the dealers responsibility to fix free of charge. Alternatively, have you had a diagnostic test to see if any fault codes flag up? Could it be an issue with the cars imobiliser?
-
Or one or the other
-
Unsure tbf been told possibly both
-
Are you sure it's the reservoir and not the pipe?
-
I'd recommend getting the tracking checked, as well as having the suspension checked. Predominantly the suspension arms as these could be affecting the tyre wear.

sarahb3579 started following intermittent starting issue
-
Hi guys, new driver here and i am so stuck. I bought an audi a1 2014. Recently, the car has had intermittent starting issues and makes a 'clicking' noise when trying to switch it on. It will start sometimes and other times it wont, its completely random. I took it to a garage, he tested the battery, battery was fine (also may i add, i had my cousin try to jump start the car when it wouldnt switch on and the car wouldnt start. So i was told its not a battery issue or it would have jump started) -changed the starter motor to a new one -chnaged the ignition switch -cables have been checked and no issues have been detected, i've been told -power is reaching the starter motor a different mechanic has told me it is still potential issues with the starter motor since new ones can have issues and you need a specifc one? Advice would be massively appreciated! I dont have the best car knowledge and taking it to multiple mechanics is getting a little expensive! thank you so so much in advance.

Maxwell B started following Tyre wear on car
-
I've recently bought a 2006 A4. I have noticed that there is a groove wearing on the inside if both front tyres. The car has 18 inch wheels fitted which I suspect are too big. Has anyone fitted 18s and had the same problem
