Anton8
Hi. Sally Sat Nav is working fine although it could do with an upgrade. I have read that it runs with a SD card. Both my SD card slots are empty! If that is the case, how is it working? Is there another slot hidden away somewhere only known to Audi so that they can charge mega bucks for an upgrade? Steve Q
I think it depends on the mmi you have as some are hardwired and as such have to be updated only at Audi.
ThomasG
The SD card is used for the upgrade. Audi will charge c. £300 for the update. You can do it yourself (disclaimer), at your own risk.
Anton8
Thanks for the replies. At £300 I think I will rely on Waze on my phone if I get lost
Shytot
If you want to investigate further you first have to work out which MMI you have - probably 3G+ with a hard drive e (HDD). Have a look at this website https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/blog-audi-mmi-mib-models/ It has a really good summary of the options and how to identify your kit. You can then Google "your mmi model" map update and see what comes back. If you're lucky there may be versions of maps available to download onto an SD card and you can do it yourself. Either way - Waze is a better sat nav option although the maps look a bit boring!

ThomasG
I may, or may not have updated mine myself. The new forth road bridge and the new M8 interchange wasn't showing. The worst bit is the time and the fear you may brick your car. I didn't.
Anton8
That's my worry. That I might do something to the system that can only be rectified by an expensive visit to Audi
ThomasG
Yes indeed. I took the risk, and it was ok. But you do need the right files.
