Yes Tommy. You appear to be missing little flat black panels that hide whatever is behind the vents.

The OCD is strong with this one! I'm in the middle of gluing back on some clips which were damaged by whoever installed the last phone/aux kit.

Epic job on the bodywork 😃👍 I always think silver is one of the most difficult colours to make look shiny - you've certainly managed that!

Quick question - did you throw out the old faux-aluminium trim? If not, what sort of condition was the driver's door trim in (mine's a bit scratched)?

Hi Mike, I still have all the bits. There are a couple of seat belt marks on the drivers one but I'll grab a pic of it in the office tomorrow and see if it's better than the one you have

Thanks Tom - it’s not a big thing, but I’m sensing you’re as particular about your car as I am… 😁

Do you want any of the other trim? The gear surround and ashtray are in fantastic nick

That’s good. 👍

Wow that’s cheap! Genuine from Audi or breakers yard? Don’t think Audi do anything for a tenner. 🤣

No - all good except for the driver’s door trim…😆

From the dealer. Picked up a cabin air filter, the 4 spring clips which hold the boot lock trim in position, and the trim for €45

That’s impressive for that lot.
Would’ve been a lot more In the UK I’m sure of that. Cost me £25 from the dealer for just 4 screws for the under tray. 🤦🏻‍♂️

When I got the car it had a Nokia phone kit and a wired aux in for music but I wanted something much better so that I didn't have to plug in my phone like a savage. I bought this Dension unit, there is a better one if your car has MFSW but mine doesn't

First job was to remove the frankly horrendous mess behind the dash. The Dension kit comes with a harness so needs no cutting.

You have certain control from the stereo and it's 100 times better than what was there. I did this in April and didn't fit the mic as it would necessitate removing the trim around the windscreen and it was too wet. I pulled it all off yesterday and found that the person who did the earlier install had broken some of the clips and seriously bent the metal spring clips. I was able to bend the metal to an acceptable  standard and re glue the clips with Gorilla glue. If you haven't used this before, it's simply the best available for gluing trim clips back on. A little water to activate and a clamp or two to help it set.  Removing the glove box was a little tricky because my car has the cool box/ fridge and there is the AC vent in there which needs removal. You need to reach in and unscrew the vent.IMG_1586.thumb.jpeg.0132e22e5228d3bc298f900753997856.jpegIMG_1587.thumb.jpeg.fc793994c194702cd54be517971689d8.jpeg

Since I had the new pollen filter, I pulled out the old one and replaced it. It's a 10 minute job. Check out the difference

Here's my drivers side trim. Each time I open the boot, the state of the gas struts has been annoying me. Decent replacements are only €20 each

I cannot believe how clean your boot shut area is... 😮

We may well be cut from the same cloth - I replaced the boot struts on mine as one of the first jobs - simply because they were rusty looking... 🤣😂🤣

I clean all the shuts when I wash the car. It’s only difficult the first time you do it. Keeping it clean after that is easy. It does need another polish, the winter has left it covered in swirl marks. Shame that my trim isn’t any good to you. Have you priced it from the dealer?

I'm pretty sure it's no longer available. It's not something that keeps me awake at night 😆 I keep looking for a set of Carbon-fibre trim from an S4 on eBay... 😎

I wonder if it would respond to T-cut, or simple polish, to take the minor scratches out... 🤔

I was lucky to get the wood trim in reasonable condition on eBay. I have some parts arriving on Monday and I’ll enquire about the trim price

T Cut won’t do it. A polish would help if you followed the direction of the lines on the trim. Try a cutting compound on a sponge

So there I was, thinking, "It's about time I did another search for carbon trim"...

Two hours later...

The trim around the light switch was the most complex to remove - but YouTube guided the way... 😃

It was expensive, but you can't take it with you. Also, it introduced me to a new VAG tuning shop and breakers over in Fakenham, less than half an hour away...😃

The gear lever surround and front ashtray cover weren't in good condition, but, as luck would have it, I didn't need either, as I have a phone charger hard-wired onto the ashtray and the controls for my aftermarket heated seats on the gear lever surround...

So - whilst I had the trim around the headlight switch off, something dropped into the driver's footwell...

Delighted you found what you were looking for. You’re welcome to hijack this thread anytime. It’s so satisfying to do these upgrades. In my mind, the car seems to run better afterwards

The CF trim round the shift and the ashtray cover would polish up very well. I hope that you took it anyway. It’s not the hardest to hand polish. The wood in mine was pretty scratched
