  1. I got it done cost including a load of replacement plastics from the V bank was in excess of £6k. Painful but overall worth it as I now have 120k more miles to do 😀

Keep the pressure on the warranty company as it's not fixed. Don't forget to labour the inconvenience of not having your car for 3 months. If paid for the car with any form of finance don't forget you can get them on the case stating the car isn't fit for purpose etc.
  3. Just an update on my problem, the car ended up at the local main dealer, who said I had to commit to a 3 hour assessment period at £162/ph 😐. They eventually identified the issue as a Convenience ECU J393 defective. This is located in the boot by the passenger side rear lights. So a total cost of £1360, oh and £300 to have it transported to the garage. Audi not the best for a car with 26k miles on the clock 😒
  4. Template letter if required I am writing to formally reject my vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Vehicle details • Make/Model: Audi • Registration: • Purchase date: • Purchase method: • Current mileage: approximately Since delivery, the vehicle has suffered from an engine management fault, evidenced by warning lights illuminating on the dashboard. This fault has caused serious concern regarding the vehicle’s reliability, safety, and the risk of consequential engine damage. I first reported this issue to ……………and the vehicle attended the workshop on ………list all………..for investigation and repair. Despite this attempted repair, the fault has not been resolved. I have since been informed that the vehicle is now booked in again for further investigation on …………date……….. Given that this fault was first reported in …………date ………… and remains unresolved several months later, I do not consider this to be a reasonable or acceptable timeframe for resolution. I am also aware that this same fault is widely reported by other 2025 Audi Q5 owners across multiple independent automotive forums and owner groups, indicating that this is likely an inherent or systemic defect, rather than an isolated issue affecting my vehicle alone. As this fault has arisen well within the first six months of ownership, it is legally presumed to have been present at the time of supply. In light of the failed repair attempt, the prolonged delay, and the ongoing nature of the defect, the vehicle is not of satisfactory quality and does not meet the requirements of Sections 9, 19, and 24 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I am therefore exercising my final right to reject the vehicle and request a full refund, including any associated fees, in accordance with my statutory rights. Please also note that while displaying engine management warning lights, the vehicle would fail an MOT inspection, and I am unwilling to continue using a vehicle in this condition or consent to further repair attempts. Please provide written confirmation within 14 days of: Acceptance of this rejection Arrangements for the return of the vehicle Timescales for full reimbursement Please ensure that all future correspondence is conducted in writing.

I think the tank capacity is 17 litres.
  7. Does this really equate to what I suggested in my post of 16 January?

It sounds like the front wheel alignment is wrong. Has any work been done on the front suspension or steering? Has it been in a crash? Have the front tyres been changed?
  9. Update: I tried calling my mechanic back for a check but apparently he is not replying. I finally went to audi service center. They did a multi point inspection and also checked for any broken parts under the hood or any faulty bushings but did not find any. So, they went ahead and applied this TSB https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10236377-0001.pdf., which is greasing all the control arm bushings, front and rear, and took it for a test drive. boom, the noise was gone. They handed the car over to me and said to keep driving it and let the grease flow and settle in the bushing for a while. So far, I have driven over 60 miles and had not heard any kind of noise. I am being optimistic on this solution as they stated that everything looks healthy under the hood. Fingers crossed and i will update after a week of driving.
  10. Thanks Steve. I can hear the motor spinning and a rattle as well which i suspect is snapped cables flying about - i could always remove the door card and have a peep - but yeah a diagnostic check could be a good shout. Thanks for advice
  11. I second this good advice.
  12. It'll be replaceable and unfortunately won't be covered under warranty. Might be worth checking on eBay. I wonder if it's just a piece of tri that needs to be changed rather than the whole console?
  13. MOT time tomorrow, hopefully it passes. The abs light has been fixed ( it helps if the sensors are plugged in ), the airbag light only goes out if i unplug the rear seat connector for some unknown reason, the engine light is on as both post cat sensors are in a box in storage ( but as its a pre july 2003 car its not part of the MOT test ) Hopefully the emissions are OK as its got aftermarket cats fitted. The brake pedal has a travel as I've not bought the rs6 master cylinder yet. The rear top mounts are bolted on, I just need to raise the front height an inch or two.
  14. Hi get a new belt fitted and buy a can of brake cleaner check the belt every 50 miles and give it a quick spray that will keep it at bay, sounds like a front crank seal gone had that on mine and it is not an engine out job just the radiator and fan pack. Steve.
  15. Thanks again Sid I also found similar but steered away from it as camera dint appear to be the same. I've sorted it now with the switch off eBay. Which can also be purchased from RS. It's an omron switch part no D2HW A201D Photos attached show the tabs soldered on to allow the original wiring harness plug to connect. Bit fiddly but it works. Link to switch on RS https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=Omron+D2HW+A201D
  16. Yeah, it's only taken over 2 weeks to find the fault!!! Long story short, garage where bought it from claimed many things, failed fuel pump, contaminated fuel, not retaining fuel, burning oil. Asked them more than once find out where the fuel was going.... ...no comprehensive answer. So following logging a formal complaint things moved. It was sent to an Audi garage, who diagnosed it to have failed injector no 6. It has fuel in the exhaust system (had 3/4 tank of diesel when broke down & still had 2 days later when recovered). Think we can conclude where all the fuel went & why it all ended up in the exhaust system? May have something to do with first garage constantly trying to start it? Its being repaired under warranty - oil & filter change required, new casket on exhaust as fuel leaking from it. Audi want to run further checks once repairs done. Just hope DPF isn't affected, though they won't know until first lot of repairs are done & test/check.
  17. I know this is a little late, but please ignore the claptrap about chains being a lifetime fit. They aren't. Like everything in life they wear out. Have a look at the VAG Technic Youtube channel and ye shall be enlightened.
  18. Found this, not sure it’s exactly the same as Factory handle but the one I fitted fits and works the same, picture quality exactly the same also
  19. Thanks did I've stripped the unit and sourced similar switches off eBay. Will need to modify the electrical terminals to suit the existing plug on the wiring harness. Couldn't find anything on Ali express 👍
  20. Hi No issues with TT or the R32 or the R Cross purposes. It was evident from the day of collection on the drive back from Ayr in heavy rain I have certainly not sat on it Bought the SQ2 in Autum 2025. Been trying to resolve the issue since then Needed a really wet day to have a run out with a Master Technician Believe or not Tuesday gone was the first wet day They had it on for a week from 5th January. Second time it had been in. First time in December Was a month lead time for a courtesy car in January as I am 20 miles away from Silverlink David
