Sqeaking sound is driving me insane.
Hi that's because the zoons at Kwik Quid probably either greased the back of the pads when fitting or did not clean and anti squeal the pad runner surface, I wouldn't take my Granddaughters old push chair to them they are about as honest as our current government. Steve.

New shape SQ5 beset with many problems..anyone else had any?
Hi Sytner are a particularly evil dealership to deal with whatever brand you are buying, my niece bought a brand new Mini from them and had multiple faults with it in the first year, so we had a years ownership but worked out the car only functioned properly for four months even the dealers were embarrassed when the courtesy car flaked out on the M25 in the middle lane seized solid no oil apparently, they wanted to trailer the car back to the dealers but my brother in law hijacked it and held it at his mates the recovery owner until they gave her a refund otherwise he would publish the findings of an engineers report that he had commissioned £400 on a two year old courtesy car, after that they keep on messaging Charlotte with all sorts of promises of upgrades and free gifts if she bought from them again, so she sent them a new personal email address to send all promises to ,[email protected], the moral being don't let up these shysters. Steve.

Ad blu top up
Hi are you sure, they never took thirty litres about 15--20 from empty hate to state the obvious but you have put it in the Adblue tank [BLUE CAP] and not the main tank if its gone in the right filler you have a major leak in the tank, there is nowhere else for it to go. Steve.

steering issue
Hi lane assist is the Bain of all VAG owners my Passat pulls all over the place on country roads if it even thinks it can see the faintest trace of a white line, I suggest turn it off and then go and get it four wheel tracked with a Hunter equipped garage the guy I use reckons a lot of them are out of line from the factory, once its been tracked you will have a noticeable difference in feel and handling, but the biggest factor with vague handling on your car is the big fat tyres. Steve.

W12 Timing Chain
Hi film production teams have a large budget, if you want to see how truly awful these engines are go on YouTube and dial in VAG Technic and live the true horror of chain changes on low milage engines on the model you are looking at, forget 4k by the time you have replaced the cams and gears as well more like £12000, btw they mention transporter cos thats what you will need to get it to the nearest place that wants to repair it. Steve.

Alternator Belt slipping off due to oil leak
Hi get a new belt fitted and buy a can of brake cleaner check the belt every 50 miles and give it a quick spray that will keep it at bay, sounds like a front crank seal gone had that on mine and it is not an engine out job just the radiator and fan pack. Steve.

Auto transmission
Hi the vehicle uses the battery to assist braking as the car is heavier than its predecessor also the changeover to petrol is dictated by the CCM when it has done its calculations it will be biased towards battery saving so you wont ever run out of electricity, thats the theory but with the newer models who knows. Steve.

Q5 turbo problem.
Hi your car does have a MAF sensor otherwise it wouldn't run very well yours is the DETA engine and the MAFF will be after the air filter box its a tube with a wiring plug in it, in the old days you could just replace the sensor but now they are a one piece affair. Steve.

Q5 turbo problem.
Hi you say you replaced the MAP sensor? common practice on older engines is to replace the MAF sensor as well as the communication between the two is critical and if the information correlation between the two is not correct that will throw a light up, check the flow information for the MAF on your live data, had this on my car a couple of times and both times it was the MAF as it was not supplying the correct information therefore the ECU puts in a failsafe strategy that wont allow the turbo to boost. Steve.

A6 2 litre tdi ultra
Hi its probably the rear engine mount and the two main engine mounts they dont generally tend to last much more than 100,000, parts are not tragic but the hydro mounts at the front are a bit of a mission, dont know what possessed them to put in two massive oil filled balloons in alloy casings but over my ownership I often questioned the logic of the build, they are not as well made as the C5/6. Steve.

defective four wheel drive Audi Q5 2019 diesel
Hi I would think your garage should be able to fix this or any specialist in your area it is a known fault with Audi models across the range as their cost cutting activities come to light, use inferior parts that we know will get us out of the warranty period and then sell a repair kit which is normally uprated to what it should have been in the first place, this is a real money spinner for them just look at the repair kit prices for RS4 camshafts and follower kits. Steve.

Oil Leak spotted on driver side undertray
Hi at about that age it could be a driveshaft seal but most likely the sump seal is weeping or even a crank seal the list of options is endless, from what I can see its not drastic clean it all up with some brake cleaner and have a look a couple of days later. Steve.

Coding new battery to 2014 RS5 (VCDS)
Hi I know an easy way of getting around your problem as I own VCDS and have come across this problem before but subject to your attitude I think I would rather put my wedding tackle in a bacon slicer than tell you plus I am not to far from you, engage brain before mouth ring any bells.

2021 A3 1.5 petrol. Cambelt.
Hi so we seem to have skipped from the All in Plan which you have paid for covering it with no empirical undertaking in writing that it does that, to oh well if it goes its PROBABLY covered under the plan, have you actually asked them what it covers and can I have that in writing, you are dealing with a dealers here and again on this forum are a multitude of posts for various models where the owner in good faith has taken out a warranty the cars gone wrong and then they inform them the the warranty wont cover that, prime example is the post on here about Alternator Failure due to Mild Hybrid System, some of these vehicles are still within the manufacturers warranty and they still want the owner to pay for the repair if you are stressed about your problem think about how stressed they must be over a three grand plus bill for an alternator, you on the other hand have the option of getting yours done at an outside garage for a fraction of the cost and have the peace of mind of knowing that the item will never again trouble you doing your ownership, you seem to be fixated on the quoted milage for the change but as you say is your choice, oldest saying , short term financial gain, possible long term financial pain, I think as a forum we cannot be accused of trying to coerce members to spend money unnecessarily, ask Cliffcoggin, I for my part wish you luck as I feel I can no longer add anything of further value to your cause. Steve.

Odd misfire when warm
Hi I would say the MAF is probably the root cause but its well documented that despite the belief that Audi parts last forever they actually don't, I found with a lot of them that when they reach a certain age/milage you end up replacing the MAP,MAF,DPF pressure sensor, they all communicate with each other and it only takes one to be on the way out and it throws it all out, personally my instinct would be to change the O2 sensor and the MAF and go from there its not the EGR sticking as that throws a whole host of codes that are related to that item, if you wok it out logically its a mixture problem yes but if the oxygen sensor is not getting the correct airflow strategy it will signal rich by default as commanded by the ECU therefore try the MAF first and then the O2. Steve.

2021 A3 1.5 petrol. Cambelt.
Hi they must be top flight garages [NOT] my guy would be laughing his socks off, I wish I could catalogue the amount of things cam belt related that I have witnessed in the last twenty odd years of using my garage, I am always down there off and on and the latest was a customer with a three year old Citroen that was told at the last service he had better get the belt done SOON. Nah he thought its only done 20k and there it was in full gory glory having a cylinder head rebuild around £1800 without the new belt kit, Citroens small engines are notorious for banging out belts because they are wet belts, to sum up I have run well over a million miles between five taxis and never had a belt fail and I attribute this to changing the belt when he has suggested, so my Passat which has a 120k change interval gets its new belt every 80k because as a cab it gets far more action than the average family car, again what's cheaper a belt or a rebuild thats if you haven't jammed a valve through a piston which means SCRAP at the end of the day you have drawn from a rather large pool of experience and at the end of it the choice is still yours, the essence of this forum is to save members money and stress. Steve.
