hi steve, sorry i should have said.yes,and no fault codes i was just leaning towards injectors as i have high mileage.i have read on here people having faults with different things on their cars and not having any fault codes come up.i know its guess work without a reading.if i was to go down the rd of injectors then yes i will leave it to the professionals then as i am not that handy with spanners.regards stephen

hi,the car is running a bit rough on idle and poor fuel economy,but fine while driving apart from a vibration from the rear right when seeting off in 1st gear.can anyone advise as to wether this should be left to a specialist to remove and clean the injectors and have the seals replaced. ? as always any advice grateful👍stephen

update.....1st may, battery still dry.😁i wont mark it as a solution as it may come back and bite me.😉 ...update 5th may been chucking it down overnight and this morning. no water on top of the battery or down the sides at all so marked as solution...here is a picture(2) of where one of 2 air vents are in the boot recess.i sealed round the edges.(had to take the bumper off to do them)at least no water gets in cubby holes now where i store the first aid kit etc or anywhere else in the boot.so marked as solution as unsure whats what

hi thomas there are 3 square dots just above your email press on that and that will give you an edit click on that then you will be able to remove it and then press save

hope you dont mind me starting with the simplest....when i put the parking brake on i have my foot on the brake first, then lift the switch up and then the red light comes on and the car holds firm. when i set off(say on a hill) there is a bit of resistance and off i go,and of course that then releases the parking brake..... or if i want to, before i set off, i put my foot on the brake put the clutch in and then release the parking brake by hand and quickly set off.i do the latter sometimes say when i am on a flat surface only.....i have never experienced in the time i have had the car your symptoms.but is this how your using your parking brake as how i am doing it.regards stephen

update.....had plenty of rain recently.checked the battery and elswhere in the boot and still dry.👍i will keep an eye on it and update again at some point.thanks all

hi steve Q thanks for your reply.yes very strange this has been doing this for sometime now.i haven't had any problems with the battery since buying the car.just been to check the battery now, but dry at the moment.I will wait until it rains or keep checking the battery every 2 days whichever comes first.i have some spare jeans material so i will take a sample with that and go from there thanks for now steve Q regards stephen

As you all know with an audi a4 b8 you have the parcel shelf then below that the base cover for the boot,then the spare wheel underneath that,then the plastic cover that goes over the battery.The question i am asking is, how come i have water on top of the battery everywhere else is dry...ie parcel shelf,boot cover,wheel,battery cover(both sides).i can only think that warm and cold air is the cause.any ideas appreciated as always.thanks stephen

Not mine but a bargain rear parcel shelf for sale on ebay for and audi a4 b8 avant (8K9863553B94H)....this is pick up only(i asked) from carterton(ox183sa) west oxfodshire close to RAF brize norton .there looks like a crease mark in the middle but once pulled out it could be ok(never asked about it)....item no 115753352745 stephen

thanks gareth and steve all sorted now. just had an offer from the AA.i rang them and went through the policy and by reducing my annual mileage by 1 mile this then reduced my policy by £12.(from 9000 to 8,999.i asked if they had an offer with home start.they said no... the only offer they had with the car insurance policy was breakdown cover if your a quarter of a mile for home £19.50 a year or for £38.00 a year national recovery.excess is £150 so total £250....so my policy cost £349 thats because i am paying for it monthly otherwise £320 with 9 years no claims....interestingly 1 company valued my car at £6500 but my premium was coming in at around £550....AA have valued it at around £3500...had more quotes but excess higher.i feel there is not the competative quotes like there has been in the past. i tried darwin gareth but when i went to retrieve a quote its coming up with a blank page....did you mean miles ahead car insurance steve... it seems to be on facebook i tried their link but it says server not found

hi all,my car insurance is due soon but it has gone up £70 this year due to a few factors and ukraine and parts were 2 of a few.there is no change in my policy.should i be thankfull.. i have tried a few comparison sites,but qoutes are coming in up to £150-300 more.i know there are a lot of factors to take into account but is this the norm now.thanks all.
