  2. hi all, just replaced the 2 front lower engine mounts bought from ebay.item no 325250874433 by meyle(justgermanparts).the mount with the wiring is for the passenger side.put electric handbrake on and first gear turn car off.i only jacked the car up one side at a time.starting at the drivers side remove the wheel, then at the back of the wheel arch remove the 2 10mm plastic nuts(pic)then remove the black plastic lug at the back of the wheel arch and also to the righ of the wheel arch remove the 2 torx screws and a funny looking lug.and peel back the wheel arch revealing the 3 bolts that need to be removed(pic)the 2 outer 16mm bolts and one inner 18mm bolt(that also has a triple square on it but an 18mm socket is fine.but first go under the car and remove the big under tray and jack the oil pan up a few pumps with a block of wood underneath it(otherwise you cant do the job)so you can get the 3 bolts out easier.you will need a long extension bar to remove all 3 especially the inner 18mm.and look close to where the lower engine mount cover is and you will see 2 rusty looking triple square size M8 triple square bolts(pic) be very careful with these as i was told you can easily damage the threads on them.i wire brushed and wd40 them i carefully tapped the triple square in with a hammer and carefully turned them until i heard a crack and they then freed off.remove the metal shield(pic8)after this i seem to recall removing a 10mm nut nearby to move 2 pipes to the right in order to wiggle the drivers mount out(take a pic to show the mount in position before removing the mount so you know how it should be positioned..note how you get the old mount out to work out how to get the new one back in.....believe me its not easy to line things back up you may have to jack the oil pan up or down especially i noticed on the passenger side mount ....the passenger side mount is more awkward to do as a pipe and the alternator is in the way......very impotant always put the 2 long 16mm bolts in first once you have the shield cover lined up but at the same time line the 2 triple square m8 bolts up that go on the base of the shield..before putting the top 18mm bolt in(once bolts in position according to youtube the 2 long 16mm bolts should be tightened to 50nms and the 18mm bolt to 90nms....but 90nms seemed a bit tight so i did 80nms as i didnt want to over tighten.....please note on the drivers side mount i had to put a crow bar in to line one of the holes up....and on the passenger side once i put the 2 long 16mm bolts in i then had to pump the oil pan up a bit to get the 18mm bolt to line up...apologies for been long winded and hope you got the drift of it all....audi wanted £££ to do these.....tip... on the passenger side the wiring can get in the way of the shield when putting the shield back on. so i moved it to the outside of the shield as it should be in pic(10)last pic showing old mount on the left and new mount on the right, its a fiddly job so allow a few hours
  3. hi,welcme to this great forum.i have had my audi a4 b8 2011 avant tdi for 18 months now and just today had Front Axle Lower Control Wishbone Arm Set - M14 - 65mm changed(£401 including tracking by a garage). also i need to change 2X front lower Engine Support Hydro Mounts Left / Right as one is leaking(for the pair from ebay by melye(£144.99)fitting myself...my oil has always been fine though audi did say i have a slight oil leak coming from somewhere.but my oil has been fine since buying the car so it must be very minimal...overall i am happy with the car having had it serviced regular.my timing is due and quoted by garage £500.tax on mine is £30 a year having the stop/start(can be turned off to save on wear.but thats been fine.sometimes you can have faults come up on the dash and can be down to a low battery.i had a boot leak and believe mine was coming from the 2 air vents.since i put sealant round them i have had no problems.been told to change the gearbox oil at some point.mine is the estate car and have carried a few things in it so very handy.

  5. give these a ring opens 8.30am....https://justgermanparts.co.uk/
  6. Ich gehe davon aus, dass Sie eine Diagnose durchgeführt haben, um zu sehen, ob irgendwelche Fehlercodes auftauchen? Auch eine defekte Batterie kann verschiedene elektrische Probleme verursachen.
  7. OK so there are new findings. I have bridged the oil pressure switch directly on top of the instrument cluster and see no difference. Then I deactivated oil temperature and oil level from the instrument cluster with VCDS and still I get the annoying oil pressure warning does anyone else have a plan? What can be done? It is only important to me that the speedometer no longer displays the oil pressure warning.
  8. ich übersetze das gerade vom Deutschen ins Englische und hoffe das ist ok.just translated this from german to english.....So I have an Audi A4 B7 2.0TFSI BWE and have now installed a replacement engine. Now I have the problem oil pressure warning in the FIS. So ei oil pump kit installed measured between 2-6 bar oil pressure and a new oil pressure switch (the one by the oil filter) and surprise I still get an oil pressure warning. Does anyone have any ideas. Wiring diagrams fuses anything?
  9. your welcome. yes i found it annoying too.hope you get it sorted soon regards stephen
  10. hi,welcome to the forum. i have an audi a4 my parcel shelf kept popping up when closing the boot or going over bumps so i applied wd40 to the right side prongs and gently pushed the prongs in and out for around 10 minutes spraying every 30 seconds or so.and now the parcel shelf sits firmly in place.but please note i have 2 prongs on either side of the parcel shelf. i think it was steve Q who showed some clips/prongs you can buy to replace yours assuming their not damaged beyond repair.also i have no idea how to replace them.regards stephen
  11. positive side mines £30 a year tax with having stop start😁
  12. oh my word steve thank you for enlighting me and others with your knowledge we are very grateful it now puts my mind at ease.kind regards stephen.ps just waiting for a garage to get back to me to see when they can book me in for the front wishbone arms and timing doing including the water pump
  13. strange revs have come back now. knowing my luck not for long lol
  14. just check wiring before replacing anything if you know where to look
  15. update put the car back together still 2500rpm at standstill took it for an italian tune up.it gave power when needed but no higher than just over 3000rpm still powerful enough but not the 4500 i used to have at standstill.still no codes.no warning lights on dashboard.i will have to look into what steve Q has mentioned the dpf as i have symptons of low power, bit of black smoke from exhaust, diesel fuel odour in the cabin, reduced fuel economy.i thought audi may have picked up on this on thursday the 18th of may as i asked for a health check on the engine. pleased audi realised about the timing though phew..
  16. started the car up and left it to idle and it now idles fine.no rough idling....i thought great, until i went to rev the car up and its only giving me 2,500rpm......taken the front bumper off this morning as i thought this pipe(see pic)had come lose like it did once and had power loss...checked the connector to the turbo all fine checked other pipes and connectors all ok.....plugged the snap on in....no codes.....any ideas please. stuck with car on ramps this morning.lol..21/05/23
  17. it feels like it steve i am going to start it in the morning and let it idle and see if it ticks over ok will let you all know thanks
  18. i was quoted along with other things by audi £217.07p for a backplate on mine.so assuming not straight forward to remove like yours regards stephen
  19. sorry for the even later reply steve here are the results from audi(£99 health check)...😂😂😂no mention of dpf/injectors.i could not believe they had to turn the timing back a notch😮 got part video on audi cam they sent me.
  20. it looks easy enough to replace and as its out of warranty there's plenty of garages that would do the job.if this is the wrong youtube video then my apologies.
  21. hope you dont mind me saying.just checking you followed this procedure(see pics) thanks
