Exactly as Cliff says, and procrastination - ‘let’s see’ - may well cost you. I seriously doubt whether anyone else will support your view Tahir, but it’s your car to do with as you wish. OK, maybe considered a personal question but, does anyone else - PCP, lease etc.- have any financial involvement with this vehicle? If so, I would guess they too would not support your ‘let’s see’.

So if it’s EBF as fitted at manufacture, then it’s an EBF as a replacement. I seldom buy from ECP, since they aren’t generally competitive any more. Note current battery’s capacity, CCA etc. and enter your reg. no. into Tayna and Parts in Motion websites. These should confirm what you currently have. My go-to brand is now Exide ( Tayna point you away from Exide and towards their own brand - name?), but do stock Exide as well. Once you have the battery number you require, then go to EBay where you should find both sellers with free postage. Please let us know how you get on, or if you decide to follow a purchase elsewhere. Bless you! Lion batteries (ECP’s own brand?) would be placed at the bottom of most experienced owners list, and they just wouldn’t touch them. I think I’ve got this right that they have now rebranded them under a different brand name. Good luck with that!

Apologies for the disappointment, but you have a lot of ‘cons homework’ to be carried out, before thinking about choosing a company to carryout the mapping. Many significant ones have already been pointed out to you. You also need to consider gaining permission from any third party who may have a financial interest in the vehicle, unless you have already bought it outright. Please let us know what you intend to do.

Are you thinking about buying a battery from Halfords? There are better deals elsewhere.

I fear the cause of the issues are not going to be resolved via. here, since no one has access to the vehicle to carryout eliminating inspections, so any attempts to do so can only be guesses. Welcome Johnny, Personally, I’d be clapping my hands that the engineeringly averse stop/start system isn’t working, but some owners think it’s impressive. As Billy says re battery, but it’s quite possible the battery is below par anyway. Connrction between TPMS and stop/ start? Have you adjusted the tyre pressures to those recommended - usually inside the fuel flap? If the salesman’s diagnosis is correct!! - then your stop start should work after about 1/2 mile. Welcome Jake, Yes, probably worth checking that the fuse is still in tact, so you can eliminate that as a source of your issue. If it’s blown, it’s blown for a reason ( to protect the circuit), and you must find the problem area before just replacing the fuse. Regards, Gareth. Look in your handbook for fuse locations.

Hello John, I’m not an SQ5 owner, but do have experience of Pirelli Scorpion tyres on a non Audi - with a profile of 60 - and the vehicle is now on its 3rd set, and they have been superb in terms of ride and longevity. This may be a pessimistic view, but think you are suffering from a combination of large wheels, low profiles and the inheritance of harsh sports suspension. My view is that whatever brand of tyres you fit you will not improve comfort to any significant degree, and your best bet towards ( in caps) comfort would be to fit smaller dia. wheels with increased profiles. Regrettably, I still feel you will be affected by the sports suspension. Regards, Gareth. Have a good Christmas.

Hello Elroy, First things first:- Have you checked that you are getting a good 12v supply to the light unit? If not, I would certainly check that and the earth connections before spending any money. If you are getting a good consistent 12v supply, then I think you are into buying another unit - new or secondhand. If you are not getting 12v, then check for wire breakage/ damage within the flexible harness section twixt the body and the tailgate. Please let us know how you get on. Hello Billy, The reason why the original post was closed was that the OP (reasonably/unreasonably?) took offence at a simple logical point - already made. If the damage isn’t on the outside of the lens then how on earth can it be acceptable to be told that that damage has been caused by ‘outside influences’. This simple anomaly should have been addressed at source - at the time. Anyway, for what it’s worth, I’m very happy to accept Stevey Y’s logical explanation. Regards, Gareth.

Welcome Jonathan, Apologies for saying it as I see it:- I feel for you if you still have outstanding debts. You have (what you believe and hope) to be a reliable 20 year old workhorse, which if you treat it respectfully, will hopefully satisfy reasonable needs, but you now want to attempt to run the guts out of it and treat it as a race horse. The two things are incongruous. I’m trying to get my head around why anyone who is already in debt, would think it’s reasonable to put themselves in further debt, for the reason you are doing so. The old adage of cutting your coat to suit your cloth certainly applies here. Please keep your credit cards in a draw and your hands in your pocket, otherwise I see a significantly increased likelihood of impending problems. Regards, Gareth.
