  1. Thanks Shane, Not sure of ROI prices, but c£12,800 for a 9 year old Japanese import A3 would seem a little bit heavy on the pencil to me. Kind regards, Gareth.
  2. It hasn’t been a good couple of days, but ticking over OK, so you have to try to find a bit of humour where you can - enough miserable old sods about to annoy you - so lovely to hear it’s made someone’s day. Perhaps ‘up your tank’ may have been more appropriate! Take care Steve.
  3. Got it. That’s why we are all different, and some want flat bottomed wheels to demonstrate they are indeed different!
  4. Please let us know why you want to stick these suppositories in your tank Rex?
  5. You are now being warned for engaging in Post and Run tactics, and wasting people’s time in replying and trying to help you. Any future posts will now have to be sanctioned before being listed. Moderator.
  6. Welcome Shane and thanks for joining. Bear in mind that bad news travels fast. Much faster than good news. Oil change services with auto boxes is now a must. For consideration:- someone thought it economically viable to import this 9 year old car; have been told but not confirmed - parts of Japan can suffer from high rainfall, so always check for underbody corrosion; increased insurance premiums? Price should obviously be lower than U.K. equivalent. Perhaps you could let us know what you think. Kind regards, Gareth.
  7. Thanks Ian, Boiling it down - fad! No useful reason by what I can see. Allegros? I’d much rather own half a dozen Allegros than half a dozen Audis. They are appreciating. They are simple to maintain and repair. They attract attention- if that is what anyone wants.
  8. Hello Kristian, There is really only one way to establish whether it is quantity or sensor associated. Simply drain the oil yourself, and carefully refill with the exact measured quantity of oil ( quoted capacity without filter). If you add oil to satisfy the oil level indicator, then you will never know whether it is overfilled or not. If you can only find a quoted capacity inc. filter, then you will obviously need to renew that as well. Yes expensive, but you will then have peace of mind. Kind regards, Gareth.
  9. Welcome Rex, Can I ask a simple question:- Why? Kind regards, Gareth.
  10. Very sound advice from Cliff. Only you can do the necessary homework here Kam. Obtain copies of each and give them a good couple of coats of reading. As Cliff says, it’s the exclusions which are the most important aspects. Be knowledgeable that whoever is selling you these warranties is gaining commission from their sales, so it’s little use in listening to the good points. Perhaps you can let us know which one - if either - you go for. Kind regards, Gareth.
  11. Probably a faulty level sensor if he guarantees he put the correct quantity in, but why should it suddenly start reading low?? Kind regards, Gareth.
  12. Release bearing hydraulics likely to have gone Kev? Simple enough clutch - no DMF here! Got one of this model - in family from new - now on 175K. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. The Special Edition is in fact the basic.
  13. Hello Mohammed, Have you got a Haynes manual for the car - should have been available for your era car. If you don’t - try EBay. Could you let us know how you get on please? Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Hello Malcolm, Usually in the tyre - attached to the inside of the valve. Have you got issues with one or more of them? Kind regards, Gareth.
  15. Give Parts in Motion ( Exeter) a ring and talk it through with them. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  16. Welcome Benny, I wouldn’t bother trying to make any contact with Audi in Japan. Send an e-mail to Audi Customer Services U.K. and seek advice there re a C of C. Kind regards, Gareth.
  17. For your ‘I find it awkward…’ -see my reply to you re. Allegros - any help Ian? Re. Why shape it such? Handy for fatties bellies?? Am I allowed to say that? Kind regards, Gareth.
  18. Thanks Ian, What is it you are trying to find out, and why? Useless piece of information to prove there is little new in motoring design:- Mid 70s Austin Allegro had a ‘quortic’ steering wheel. Police were using Allegros as the successor to the Morris 1000 Panda cars, and certainly didn’t favour them, since you couldn’t ‘feed’ the steering wheel through the driver grip. Kind regards, Gareth.
  19. Welcome Charlotte, and thanks for joining. Back in Oct. 2023, Paul outlined what the offending part was on his ( in caps) car. Could you please outline the exact issues you are getting with your car. To save asking again, how old is your battery? Kind regards, Gareth.
  20. Hello Joy, Just doing some system tidying up and wonder whether you can now update us please.
  21. Hello Stephen, Such expenditure regrettably puts anyone into this ‘spend or get rid of dilemma’ - sorry to hear you are in that situation. It would seem that the deal-breaker here is the labour time, since the parts prices seem to be more reasonable than I would have expected for a DMF inclusive clutch kit. Even at a very very modest one-man-band labour rate of say £50/hr. it’s going to work out at over £1200 I guess. As a matter of interest, why ECP, particularly now that they no longer have their high % discounts on so called retail prices? Seldom find them to be competitive. My go-to supplier is now Parts in Motion ( no connection), who have provided me with competitive prices on good brands ( they do cheaper brands as well, but…). I always check what their charge is before looking for the same brand elsewhere. Good luck with whatever you decide to do Stephen. Kind regards, Gareth.
  22. Good for you to question this Kev. Lee2 posted on 14th June., last visited on 20th June, and has ignored 2 requests to state a price. Not good form, and if the forum doesn’t receive a response to today’s comments , then bans on further posts may be implemented.
  23. So not a genuine (Audi) one from Autodoc then Barry?
  24. Any further comments then Chris?
  25. Good morning Paul, Wondered if you are going to return to the forum to read the response to the question you asked-? Many thanks, Gareth.
