Registration A10VKV for sale - Audi 10Valve KV
Thanks Adrian, I think we have to recognise that their operating costs must be considerable, when you consider the advertising and system they have to pay for. Glad you agree that there no great disadvantages in delaying listing it with them.’ Getting it out there’ can only increase the chances of you finding a buyer.

Many thanks for updating the forum Nicola, and really sorry to hear you are still in difficulties and wish you well in getting a resolution in the very near future.

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
Thanks Bill for boxing up the attitudes of Audi owners. So trying to summarise, it sounds like you categorise the majority of owners ( your fellow members) as Nobs. Great way of endearing yourself to the forum members as you ask for their advice! I think it’s time for me to dip out of any further responses re. your quest for help. Regards, Gareth.

Registration A10VKV for sale - Audi 10Valve KV
Thanks Adrian, By what I understand, there are any obstacles for placing the number with R.T. at this stage and organising the retention certificate when they have a buyer. I genuinely wish you luck, but I had a more desirable number with them for around 8 years and no sale. I eventually reunited it with the donor car. Regards, Gareth.

Audi A4 Quattro 2002 looking for input shaft bearing/gearbox
Welcome Rory, Have you got the SKF number, and/or the size of the bearing? You may have already been down this route, but you can normally find a cross reference to other manufacturers or contact bearing suppliers with the size you are looking for. Regards, Gareth.

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
What, baulking at less than a tenner for a comprehensive report before going to see it? Not sure I agree with someone of your definitions of Audi owners either, but that’s just my personal opinion. Please let us know how you get on. p.s. I guess you are aware that you can request a copy of any computerised service history for the car from your nearest Audi dealer.

Cambelt question
Thanks John, No pressure, but if it were mine, I would be having the cambelt assembly changed without delay, since the car is now approaching 10 years old. The six month warranty is fine, but this car will end up as ‘beyond economical repair’ if the belt goes.

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
Transfer of ownership to a dealer, usually does not result in a change of ownership situation, and the issue of a new V5. Had you carried out these checks yourself on this particular car, or any you had shown an interest on?

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
Hello again Bill, Have you carried out the ‘homework’ suggested in my earlier post? If not, the following summarises:- Latest V5 issued in May of this year. May suggest the last owner has only owned it since then! Possible a change of plate at this date, but we don’t know. The car has had an advisory for front suspension issues - not attended to over 2 MOTs. Now has a new advisory free MOT, probably via. the seller! No MOT between Aug 2018 and Oct. 2022 ( possibly influenced by Covid). Only 134 miles covered between Oct.2022 and Feb 2024. So seems to have been sitting around for some time. FSH stated honestly to be ‘Comprehensive service history’. If you haven’t carried out the above ‘homework’ together with sight of the claimed service history, and if all is well there, a VCheck ( there are others) all before you enquire about the car, then you leave yourself in a more vulnerable position than you should be. I could be wrong Bill, but my belief is you have already fallen in love with it - and you know what that does to your sight! Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Kind regards, Gareth.

Audi A6 3.0 TDI 2011 C7 - DSG gearbox new clutch ?
Morning Bill, I’m getting the vibe that this is (understandably?) causing you a high degree of concern. What I’ve found if in that situation is to simply waok away and look elsewhere. Downside:- whatever you buy is going to come with an unknown history. Re. the car of interest :- have you checked its MOT history, when the last V5 was issued and actually seen ( in caps) evidence of its ‘full service history’? Pay £9.99 with VCheck and run a history on in - including any auction activity. This should be basic investigations which need to be carried out before ( again in caps) you view it and fall in love with it. Regards, Gareth.

Rattling noise help please
Thanks John, I did say it was (too?) cheap! Potential thought to consider:- Some garages (understandably?) will not guarantee the job if you supply the parts. Bit like buying a steak from Lidl and asking your local restaurant to cook it for you! I would be clarifying this point if it were mine. If OK with them, you could try reputable eBay sellers for competitive prices. Parts in Motion have given me good prices and service ( no connection - wish there was) over a number of years. Please let us know how you get on John. Regards, Gareth.

Looking for a spare part
This is getting tiresome, and an all too frequent occurrence. You joined and posted your plea for advice on the same day - assumed you joined for that purpose. Members have given their time to provide you with helpful replies, but for your part, you done 3/4 of Porthcawl to acknowledge the advice you asked for, even though you did return to the forum on Saturday. Just have a read of ‘New posters please read’. It seems that this forum is wasting its time all too often. You are letting the Homeland down Richard.
