  1. Interesting Peter, since if you don’t intend using the s/s system then you are likely going to have to resort to switching it off for every journey. When you do, the light will be on! Please let us know how you get off with the battery test.
  2. If this is of interest to anyone, it is on Reg. Transfers for £900. It is reasonable to expect that the poster would accept less than that since his ‘after- commission’ figure will be much lower. Having said that, the thread will be hidden if we don’t hear from Simon within the next two days.
  3. Thanks John, LUK /Sachs ( now one and the same company I believe) would be my recommendation. Still think £280 labour is cheap. Regards, Gareth.
  4. Your comments are getting off topic and personal, so this thread will now be locked.
  5. I’ve now locked this thread, since all advice, although helpful, seems surplus to requirements.
  6. Hello Rizwan, Oh dear, That’s rather sad that the two people you have been in contact with have been very, very rude to you. It’s obviously not your week. Regards, Gareth.
  7. Hello John, That sounds remarkably cheap. What make parts are you intending to buy? Regards, Gareth.
  8. Hello Steven, It seems you have returned to the forum, but not answered the question asked. Perhaps you would be kind enough to do that please.
  9. Hello Owen, It seems being kind, considerate and positive just hasn’t worked, and it appears to be the silly season in respect of a number of new posters not bothering to respond to questions asked, and being honest, I fed up with it. Moderators should not have to spend their time doing this. In terms of this thread, my personal view is that even if the rotten component is replaced, it would be reasonable to suspect that other components maybe substandard. As Cliff sensibly points out, that pan would not have deteriorated to that extent in one year, so perhaps - just perhaps - the last MOT inspector was Stevie Wonder! Due to the lack of response, I am of the view that the forum should disassociate itself from any advice given, and recommend the car is removed to an MOT station for thorough examination prior to any work being undertaken on it. Regards, Gareth.
  10. Great Kev, Only problem is that Susan seemingly has just been too busy to return to the forum to post any reaction to the advice she asked for. Good isn’t it? Regards, Gareth.
  11. Magnet replied to james12345's topic in Audi A4 (B5) Forum
    Any further progress James?
  12. Let’s be kind, considerate and positive in respect to Owen’s return!!!
  13. Welcome Peter, Or - cheaper alternative - nip it around to one of Halfords Stores and get the battery efficiency checked. If they do assess it as being substandard, then it’s highly likely that it would be to your wallet’s advantage to return to the forum for some recommendation for alternative suppliers. Any new battery will need to be coded in. Just let us know if we can help further. Regards, Gareth. p.s. Any good reason why you want the engineeringly averse S/S system working?
  14. Owen remains conspicuous in his absence since questions are being asked about the last MOT.
  15. Price please Steven.
  16. Welcome Erick, but it seems odd that you join the forum to post a reply to a thread which is over a year old. Regards, Gareth.
  17. Des, apologies for chasing, but you seem to have posted and not returned to the forum since. Would you do us a kindness and have a read of the ‘New members please read’ thread, and then come back to us please?
  18. So you are not going to return with a couple of answers then Owen-?
  19. Welcome David, Gary hasn’t returned to the forum since he first posted. You could try sending him a PM and hope he responds! In addition to SteveQ’s advice, you could register your ‘want’ on on-line car breaker websites. Parrtsfinder is one, but there are others. Please let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  20. Welcome John, Have you yet checked what fault this code relates to? Regards, Gareth.
  21. Nothing coming up on a Google search John?
  22. Hello Paul, Possibly a daft question, but is there anything preventing you removing the back seat backrest - sometimes anchored at the base and ‘slid over’ hook type brackets at the top. Appreciate you will still have to work through any cross bracing, but…. Alternative? Try a largish local bodyshop for advice. They would have to work through this situation. Regards, Gareth.
  23. Any comments Richard?
  24. Edward, Your post causes concern. Why would you join and choose to respond a 2.5 year old post?
  25. Welcome Joe, Regrettably your post doesn’t tell or ask us anything. Regards, Gareth.
