  1. Hi All I got my tickets online today for the Beaulieu event
  2. Hi Stuart Welcome to the forum. you will find the members here friendly and helpful. If you look on the southern area meetings, which will be closest to you, there is a meet up to use the rolling road in Farnborough on Saturday Jan 6th. But would welcome any suggestions to meet up somewhere.
  3. Pleasure Steve. For me, it is nice to have a very local event, purely on a selfish basis of course... If anyone needs any local Info I would be happy to help out
  4. HI Steve Put me down for this one. I have been to beaulieu for the last 3 years with the Mini cooper register. Great day out. What works is to meet at Rowhams services on the M27 for about 8 am and then convoy in from there. We were in a convoy of 22 minis last June. The tickets let you see the museum and all the grounds as well. So what normally costs £19.50 will only cost you £10 in advance. so you get the Audi show, museum and gardens. Graham
  5. No Problem Shukhrat Glad you found the info useful.
  6. Hi Shukhrat I had a remap about 6 weeks ago. It took my car from 170 Bhp to about 200Bhp. I have noticed a difference in fuel consumption purely due to the improved throttle response. When overtaking I do make the most of the improvement and the fuel does get affected. generally I get about 45-47 mpg on a run. About 50 before the remap and when I had my 140 Bhp A3 I would get about 55mpg. Best I have had so far is 52 mpg and that was being careful. If mpg is your main driver, and doing 115 miles per day it probably would be, then I would save about £200 and not get it done. My remap was a stock remap which definitely improved the power but slightly affected the fuel consumption (possibly due to still enjoying the difference in power). I cannot speak for an economy remap as I have no experience of one. Hope this is of help
  7. Thanks Steve I would appreciate that. Need to get the details out as much as possible. I would like it to be a worthwhile event. Graham
  8. I have now preliminary booked Surrey Rolling Road for Jan 6th 2018. I have (In anticipation) booked it for 4 cars and would definitely like more cars. I have said I will get back to them this weekend. The cost will be £40.00 each(Perhaps a Christmas present). Those interested please let me know as soon as possible There are also plenty of places to grab a cuppa/beer afterwards in Farnborough. I have chosen this places as it seems central for most people in the south. Graham
  9. Great news that you have got it done Kev. When my turbo was replaced it was a big difference to the way the car drove. Having everything done at the same time is also a cost saving as they are already working on the car. Once the service is complete the car will be good for many years.
  10. Looks like a good get together Steve , Suzuki pulled it out of the bag then!! I will get the southern area event booked up for the new year. I am interested what my stage 1 remap has achieved.
  11. I did just think about using some rotary wire brushes. Does the engine enamel take the heat produced by the brakes?
  12. The calipers look great. It is something I have been considering, so you description and pictures will help alot. Cheers
  13. Nice day in Southampton today. So took the opportunity to give the car a clean this afternoon. Started with a water wash all over and then a soapy wash using snow foam and a Lambs wool mit. First time I had used snow foam and found that it kept its bubble and soapy nature for the whole wash. Rinse again and then dry using a chamois leather. Next I use an instant show shine from Williams F1. I really like this but you need a good finish to begin with and this was achieved on many previous occasions using Autoglym Super resin polish.. All the wheels were sprayed with Autoglym wheel cleaner and left to the end to wash and clean using what is left in the bucket.. With the hose out I took the opportunity to wash all the suspension underneath and clean any paintwork the can been seen underneath. Bonnet was the opened and all dead leaves removed and all plastic cleaned with surface wipes and then Autoglym vinyl and rubber care.. Next job is to clean the inside.
  14. I am a Senior manufacturing engineer. Currently in Technical manufacturing support for the machneshop and surface treatments. We specialise in Aircraft fuel systems. It is only 7 miles from home so a nice easy drive each day. Hobbies are looking after an old house, aviation and I have an alotment to look after.
  15. Hi Kev I had a refurbished Turbo fitted to my 55 reg A3 2.0 TDI 140. It started to whine so I took it to Brookspeed http://www.brookspeed.com. As I was due to go on a driving holiday to the south of France I decided to get it replaced. It took about a week to take it out and send it away and get it back and fitted, I drove down to the south of France the following weekend without a missing a beat. The car actually performed alot better as well. Graham
  16. Hi Steve Can you add me as well please. Thanks
  17. I was pleased when I went from a 140 up to 170, after the remap there is just power and torque all the way. Good luck with the mods. I was thing of lowering mine by an inch or 2. (25 - 50mm)
  18. Thanks for the report Steve I wish I could of made it. Perhaps next year. Great Pics and a good turnout
