Newbie, trying to buy an A3
Welcome to the forum Asif, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ๐ the video Paul has shown you.is very useful, but also check out the a3 8p section on here as well as the cars for sale section. my word of advice would be to check to see if the a3 you are looking at has had the emissions recall carried out. If it's had it carried out recently then I'd be asking questions as to why it's for sale. There's been a lot of documented issues surrounding the emissions recall. I can also say this from first hand experience after working in a volkswagen service department. If it were me I'd be avoiding cars that have had it done to be honest. cheers Steve

Touching up the rust bucket
Welcome to the forum Alan, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ๐ the rust on.the wings is a common issue on vag cars from this era. Replacing the wings is the best long term solution as the wings rust from the inside out. This is because vag thought it was a good idea to fit foam inserts on the inside of the wings to help with the fitment of the wheel arch liners. Obviously the foam absorbs moisture and thus causes the rust. you could sandblast it and fill the gaps with filler then paint over it as a temporary fix but as I say long term you'll need new wings. cheers Steve

engine swap
Welcome to the forum Osbertqororia, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ๐ kenya is a lovely country and I can't think of a better car to have there! I'd love to see pics of your a6 allroad in Kenya ๐ the answer to your question is yes they can be made to fit but you'll probably have to modify the shell slightly to make them fit. from donor car you'll need all the ecus, fuseboxes etc. Youll have to custom make engine mounts and gearbox mounts. Truthfully though I think you'd be better off keeping the 2.5tdi as it's less complicated than the later engines. cheers Steve

Estate A4
Welcome to the forum Jeff, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ๐ In theory your a4 can be fitted with an electric opening boot but it won't be cheap. You'd be looking at ยฃ1000-ยฃ1500 to have it retrofitted and you'd be best getting the parts from eBay. You'd also need to programed to the comfort control module I believe. cheers Steve

Installing a sub to standard stereo/oil pump balance shift issue
I can't confirm they've done a recall but I have a suspicion they have. Don't ask me why though. Definitely check the service history when your home or ring Audi. Please let us know how you get on. Cheers Steve

Engine temperature issue
Welcome to the forum Patrick, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ๐ id recommend a diagnostic check to be carried out to see what fault codes flag up. obviously it could be the thermostat but I'm wondering if it's something else. Ie a leak. What's the coolant level? cheers Steve
