Audi Year

  1. 2016 December a bit angry. I saw saw on the news recently the government increased all insurence company's rates in my case subject my interest is car. I've received an intial email quote form confused.com of £1073 that's almost a £300 increase on last year (my circumstances have not changed) abosulute rip off. This is just another cynical stealth tax on the motorists as if we do not pay enough. I will eventually start looking for quotes myself to see if I can get a better deal. (I'm over 25, no points, no incidents, have maximum no Cliams, reside London, Audi 2 litre tfsi Quattro, everything perfect) Rant over. Recievied
  2. Cars from beginning to now 17 yr old Citroen Saxo 1.1 Forte 2001 Before I got 18 I got banned for a year 18 yr old and ban ended got a Honda Civic 1.6 2002 19 yr old Vauxhall Vectra 1.9TDI (150) 2005 (got caught doing 120mph on M6, got banned for 14 days) 20 yr old Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 2006 Silver (got caught doing 76mph in a temporary 50mph on the m6, got banned for 10 days) 21yr old Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 2007 Black 21yr old Audi A6 3.0TDI 2005 Manual Silver 22yr old Audi A6 3.0TDI 2006 Auto Grey 22yr old Eunos Roadster 1.6 1990 Blue I'm 22 and I'm on my second Audi. First one was a 2005 A6 3.0TDI SE Manual and now i currently have a 2006 3.0TDI S Line LeMans Auto. The gearbox in the manual was shockingly bad so went for a auto. So far on the LeMans I have had a remap, 4 new Uniroyal Rainsport 3's and they are so sticky it's amazing. Changed the whole character of the car. Took it round the Nurburgring so put a sticker on the back ;) I've just ordered a RS6 Style honeycomb grill but without the RS6 badge. Windows are Tinted and I want to get the lights smoked too. I have also ordered a big Quattro badge for the bottom of the grill. It's all debadged from new except the two main Audi badges. I'm after a Milltek exhaust and anything else to get some more power gains . . . If you have any ideas please tell me
  3. Hi Re Audi A4 B7. Anyone know a excellent mecanic. To change front main light? I found out yesterday front bumper has to come off to change crappy passenger main light. I've bought the ds1 bulb already. Just need someone to fit it. I've been quoted a silly £65 already that's too much. I live london but but can drive out to get this done at a reasonable price. Basically every time time I turn light on the car beeps left main beam fault but what's weird some times lights on sometimes off but car still beeps regards warning me left main beam why is that? My drivers main light went 1 month ago to which I changed I can't remember if it did the same thing.
  4. Hi All, New on the forum, Care for alot of Audis, Audi has become my life slowly. #Audi :)

I Had numerous problems with both mainly OIL CHAIN PUMP failure (both went around 88k) resulting in major engine rebuild costing me thousands of pounds and putting me into major debt. I have had had many battles due to the above some with Audi to the point I started legal proceedings against them to get help.
  6. Hi I just joined here own an Audi A4 2 litre tfsi two in total ever. My 1st was a year 2005 2 litre tfsi 200bhp A4 current year 2007 same vehicle but the 220bhp Quattro special edition version. I Had numerous problems with both mainly OIL CHAIN PUMP failure (both went around 88k) resulting in major engine rebuild costing me thousands of pounds and putting me into major debt. I have had had many battles due to the above some with Audi to the point I started legal proceedings against them to get help. in the end of buying both cars I lost £7000 as a totality which I'm still feeling today my experience with Audi uk was not great. Currently my car gets looked after by Audi chingford who did all the engine repairs for oil chain pump.
  7. Shocking customer service from Audi Main Dealer, that you would expect from a back street garage. I brought a Audi A5 TFSI from my friend, he advised me that the car was perfect. Except for a warning light that had come on stating oil pressure low. He then promptly took the car to Audi Vindis main dealer and had it check. He told them my oil lights on and that the car is using a lot of oil. They advised him that it was just a sensor, and that there was a slight oil leak that would need further investigation. But other than that the car is fine. I then brought the car three months down the line, theres black smoke coming from the exhaust. I then send the Car back to Audi Vindis to have it checked, i rang Audi they advised me it would take 48 hours to let me know what the problem is. It took them 9 days to get back to me with the problem. Had i known it was going to take 9 days to find out what was wrong. I would have opted for a courtesy car service they offer. After calling Audi Vindis 5 times in those 9 days, i didn't get thru to my service advisor at all. He was constantly busy or out on lunch and didn't return calls. I was told he would call me back but he never did. I then got a call on the 10th day, my service advisor advised me that my car needed a new turbo and catalytic convertor costing £2600. I then stated i have spoken to a friend who works for Audi. And they have advised me that my car might have a oil consumption problem, and that it should be looked at to see if mine is faulty. They have since done a test, and it has come back that my car is using to much oil. But i would need to drive 600 miles for further testing procedures. Clearly my cars in no fit state to move so I'm outer luck with the oil consumption side of the problem. My arguement is that the oil problem could of been what caused the car to break down in the first. given the fact that my friend had a oil related problem before why wasn't he made aware of the recall fault. They clearly didn't want to mention to my friend at the time that these cars do have a manufacturer problems. Now that my first issue. My second issue is, whilst in Audi Vindis my car was cleaned by a valeter. He left the handbrake off my car and it smashed into another car. I have seen the damage and advised Audi Vindis that because my car has been wrapped, all the wrap will need to be removed from the car to fix the wing and bumper. It is near impossible to match the exact white wrap for my car without knowing who the manufacturer is of the particular wrap. It is also going to cost around £600 to have it all removed and cleaned, and £2000 to have it replaced so that all the colours match equally. Audi Vindis have taken no responsibility for the fact, my car was left in there care. And subsequently damaged whilst in there care, they are merely trying to fob me off to the Valeting companys insurance. And saying too me you guys sort the issue out with your insurances. My argument with Audi Vindis is that my car was left with Audi Vindis and i was not doing business with this valeting company. So i merely stated could i have Audi Vindis insurance details please, so i can get my insurance company to contact yours. They refused and told are you prepared to be messed about, because its not are fault the valeters damaged your car. Now i have it on video the service manager refusing to give me there insurance details, after my car had been damaged in there possession. Which is against the law when an accidental has occurred the refusal to give documentation is a criminal act. They have since contacted me and said that they have some offers on the table. The £2600 still stands for the repair on the mechanical side, but the valeting company is willing to do 3 things. Firstly offer me £500 and he would get a dent devil guy to pull the dents out, 2nd £700 and thats the end of it no come backs, or i can go thru his insurance. Now they must not have listened to me when i told them, i went to a Car Wrapping Specialist and he has said the whole car will need to be re wrapped, unless i wish to see the difference. Now I'm facing owning a car thats been damaged before which i don't want. Or a car that has mix match wrapping, and if a trained eye looked at carefully will notice its had a knock. Do i even won't this car after its been damage. When i advised the customer service manager that all i want today is a courtesy car, so i can pick my kids up and have a think about my options. I was told no we need to know what you want to do. She was rude too me and my partner and refused to give me there insurance details. I then spoke to another manager who heard me out and agreed with me slightly. Then he went away listened to his colleague, and later pushed a bit of paper on the table saying theres the valeting company insurance details. I then stated that i would like Audi Vindis Insurance details he advised me that its a waste of time but went away and got them. At this point a senior manager came out, and made me feel like she had everything under control. And made me feel at ease and said this is not how we operate or do business. Only to call me back a few hours later, with the offer that i just mentioned which quite frankly is poor customer service. From a company with such a prestigious reputation. As it stands i have no courtesy car, i have no insurance details, i have only been offered the valeting company details which were then taken back from me. I am going to seek some legal advice, and take this matter further seeking compensation for the cars I'm having to rent, the devaluing of my car because of the accident. And their complete incompetence in handling this situation. I will also be going to the Retail Ombudsman for the Oil Recall that for should of been tested. And possibly the criminal justice system for Audi Vindis refusal to give me their insurance details when asked. After a car in their possession had been damaged and they are taking no responsibility. It even states on the invoice please don't Valet the car is been wrapped. Negligent! Your Sincerely Disgruntled Customer
  8. I have a 2003 Audi A3 2.0TDI which has just been diagnosed as having a cracked piston head I have been told that to purchase a brand new part it will cost around £1000 for the part and then there's the labour to add on top. I have also been told from a different mechanic that I might be as well to purchase another engine and get that fitted instead of replacing the part itself. What would you guys suggest I do? Another question I have got is would I have to get the exact same 140bhp engine as the one that is has now? I have seen on eBay a few 2.0TDI A3 engines that are producing around 180bhp standard, obviously my car only has a 140bhp turbo (this is a fairly new turbo, only been fitted around 2 months) so would this not work? I am aware that I can pull this engine out of SEAT's and VW's etc so another option I have would be to purchase a spares and repairs car that has the engine I need which runs fine but has been smashed up at the back and take that engine? I really don't want and don't have the cash to buy another car so would like to be able to get this one back on the road as cheaply as possible whilst at the same time not cutting any corners... Any help and recommendations would be appreciated!
  9. Beautiful Audi R8 4.2 V8 manual Presented in metallic black with stunning silver side blades. This colour combination was used on the R8 launch car back in 2006. The car is only showing a mere 26,300 miles. Full black leather interior with heated seats and leather driving zone pack fitted. Other optional extras include a top of the range 10 speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system with 6 disk changer which sounds incredible. SAT-NAV with Bluetooth phone connectivity. Also fitted with magic adjustable dampers with sport mode. The car comes with all correct spare keys, user manuals and service book which shows the full main dealer service history. Our R8 has had a recent service by Audi, which also included four new disks, pads, calipers and more recently four brad new tires. Truly is a stunning example. Viewing upon request. £46,950
  10. I purchased my A3 from new last year, I had previously had a Volkswagen Golf I've always driven at night with no problems. Since I purchased this a3 I have been saying the glare is really bad. The other week my passenger experienced this in the passenger seat, it's so bad in the side mirrors it's blinding. I called Audi asking if someone could come out with me in the car so they can see how bad it is and to try to give me help or advice to try to stop this. To my amazement the first thing the techinician said was it was because I didn't have anti glare mirrors which one I didn't know anything about. I would assume a £23000 car would have them, but I wasn't even told about them as an optional extra as had I known I would of ordered them as I mainly drive night. I was told they cannot even be fitted to my car which is only 18 months old I have to buy a new car ! When I challenged the Audi dealership about this they said we tell our customers that they are not fitted with anti glare as standard, however I think this is a safety feature and customers should be told as if you are short like me the glare is so bad that I struggle to see at night. So at the moment I am looking for possible tinting to see if this helps. Has anyone else had this problem or have a solution for this.
  11. Hi, I am just after some advice due to the fact that the internet doesn't seem to acknowledge the existence of my car. I am currently driving a 2007 S6 Avant and i think that my front bushes are going, I was expecting this at some point due to the V10 lump up front, however I cant seem to find anything on replacement parts for it anywhere without having to go through he main dealer and having to take out a mortgage. could anybody possibly point me in the right direction/advise the best route to go down, ie. can i replace just the bushes or do i have to do the control arms etc. and the best place to look for replacement parts. thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide. Paul
  12. My audi a3 fails to start when these dash lights come up. Any ideas what the problem could be??
  13. Taking the opportunity to upgrade my 2007 A3 Sportback rear bumper after some idiot drove into it! Looking for the following >> Type: A3 Facelift 09-12 Rear Sportback Bumper Colour: Black (in good used condition which won't require any work or a respray) Diffuser: Twin exhaust S-line mesh style (like the attached picture) The bumpers come up regularly on Ebay but the diffuser is the hard bit to get hold of! If anyone has the diffuser to sell separately I'd also be interested (I've read that the 3dr, 5dr & cabriolet diffusers are the same fitment so will fit a Sportback bumper)

  19. Recently purchased an Audi A6 with 88k miles on the clock. Wanted something relatively practical whilst being a little different. Had been looking to buy a 2.7 or 3.0 tdi A4 but when I saw this, I thought "why not"! I am a big fan of cars and over the years, have had many friends who have (and still do) spend a lot of money getting their cars sorted. My plan is to keep the car pretty standard (excluding the air and alloys) but will be looking to replace the ancient sat nav and remap at some point (funds permitting) just to get a bit more out on the engine. Any body with experience in these areas, would love to hear your thoughts. Tried to upload a picture of the car - hope it works...
  20. I am currently looking to sell my number plate that is currently on my car but i am taking off this week and putting it on certificate. I have been quoted by the DVLA website and a third party valuation of £400 so i am looking around that figure but it is up for negotiation Thanks in advance
  21. Hi all, I've just become the proud owner of a 66 plate Audi A3 1.4 tfsi sport back in nano grey and want to give the engine a bit more of the growl it deserves! I just wondered if you guys could give any advice on what performance air filters / induction kit I could get for her? I rang k&n today and they said they haven't got any air filters / induction kits for the plate, make and model. if anyone knows of one that would fit, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
  22. Hi guys, New to the Forum (and Audi owning). After a few VW Golf's I decided a change was needed, more so because we have a 6 month old son who is growing FAST. I picked up a Dark Blue, B6 Avant yesterday (pic attached) - 80,000 miles, some service history and the all important timing belt has been changed at 71,000 miles. It is the 2003 2.0 FSI model which I know is not the most desirable BUT I'm a practical guy, wanted something NON-turbo so that it's relatively simple. I'm not looking for speed/acceleration, more so economy and lower running costs and th ability to get involved my self. It'll be a WorkHorse more than anything. Exterior is great - no rust/scratches or dents, interior is grubby to say the least - was owned by a middle aged Electrician who must have used it as a work horse - it'll need a deep clean - lots of trim broken (arm rest/glove box/worn buttons etc). I can deal with that in time (Ebay). Asking price was £1,985 but got it for £1,500 on basis interior was messy. I feel it was a fair price. I wanted to know what you think i should look at engine-wise as most people would consider doing when they get an older second hand car for the first time? I'm thinking oil change, plugs, clean air filter and pollen filter? Should i stump up and do the coil packs as well as know that they can be problematic? MAF meter perhaps? Any other suggestions? On start up the car stutters a little and engine 'wobbles' around, but after a few revs/drive it warms up and calms down, idling well. All in all everything seems to work fine still, E/mirrors, E/Windows, Cruise Control etc. Got 41MPG crusing back to London on the M40 last night (albeit at 60-65 mph). Was expecting more like mid-30's, so pleased on the whole. Tracking out marginally, but i'll get that sorted. I'm used to a MK7 Golf company car and the brakes are sharp and responsive - this Audi feels like you have to stand on the brakes to get it to stop - is this because it's 13 years old and the car is heavier or could the pads need changing (tricky to say without seeing, I know)? No brake light on the dash. Sorry if this topic has been raised a trillion times, just getting to grips with navigating around the site. thank you in advance. E

  25. Hi everyone, This is my first post as a new Audi A3 owner so I apologies if this has been posted in the past. I have recently bought an Audi A3 5 Door Sportback (2006) and I have a query regarding tyre pressure. My tyres do not need any adjustment at the moment, but just for my future reference, does anybody know the recommended tyre pressure for 18" 245/40? There is nothing on the inside door stating what they should be. I have a graph on the inside fuel cap but it only gives the recommended pressure for 17" as apposed to my 18" tyres? Also some of the tyres do say XL, i'm not sure if this makes a difference? Is anybody able to help with this? Thank you! 😊
