Running issues A6 2.0 TDI Ultra
Davidacarrick replied to Davidacarrick's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
I actually can’t wait to get rid of this car next month. It’s been a disaster since I bought it: the list of faults and issues I’ve had with it you would not believe -
Hi P2002 is the low pressure EGR cooler have a look on the site archives this is well documented the cooler gets blocked with adblue crystals and fails its a horror to replace its not the parts so much as the labour charges, the other one is the MAP sensor which is cheap and easy to change.

Hi yes can be fixed and yes thy are connected, new glow plugs required, I would get a delete kit for the swirl flaps inside the inlet manifold and see if that cures the boost pressure control unit on the turbo if not you may well need a new turbo. Steve.

Yea it's fine to sell on here. I'd recommend doing a separate post under the for sale section. Guessing you got your new seats installed ok?

What clips are you thinking off?

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

I'd recommend looking for 2nd hand ones on eBay.

It's a nightmare. If it's for towing then I understand why you want diesel.

It’s very kind of you to come back with a little more important detail ‘H’, but I guess you have a valid reason not to reveal your name. Good luck with selling your car. -
Thanks Granola, I do indeed understand your point of view. An alternative point of view could be that if say you (in caps) were to spend a considerable amount of time attempting to help others -on demand - and they can’t even be bothered to return to the forum to read the advice they ask for, then this alternative point of view may become more valid. You know, even seeing that a question-poster has had the courtesy to press the Like’ button can really be a welcome uplift, and demonstrates that it isn’t all about ‘I want, you know, you tell me’ , and I can’t even be bothered to take time to say thanks. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. ‘….some random person in the future benefits….’ It didn’t benefit this poster, since as Stevey mentions, it’s a subject I that’s been answered before, but I guess the poster couldn’t be bothered to do a search.

Hi Steve Q Finally got the car back today. Not sure what the part is called but it is a round housing with a gear which moves the timing chain through oil pressure and therefore the cam timing. Although the car has only done 75000 mls it is quite old so I guess new chain and cambelt just disturbed it. Anyway, ok now. The mechanic I take it to is a really good guy. Hasn’t charged me any more than the original job. After we are sure it is ok I will offer him at least the part cost.

Lee. You are not giving us much information to work with. Tell us about the motion of the car when the knocking occurs. For examples is it turning, braking, accelerating, idling, bouncing on rough road, or something else? Does the noise sound metallic or muted? Can you replicate the noise by manually bouncing each corner of the car at rest? A decent sound recording would help.

I agree the car should be returned immediately. In fact I would not have accepted it if the rattle was still there on start up.

Hi all, new here so apologies if I do anything wrong. My A4 B8.5 S-Line CVT started making a whining noise around 6 weeks ago but not sure exactly when as the wife drives it usually and she never noticed it. There is a slight whine when idle that gets worse as the revs increase. Really hoping it isn’t related to the transmission in any way. I was thinking possibly the alternator failing or something to do with the belt? I’m rubbish with this stuff though. Wondering if anyone has any ideas before I take it into the shop? I’d be really thankful for any input on this. Vid of noise is linked: https://youtu.be/vil177hzwNk?si=YbEEo970Yh2D81Av Thank you all.

My coupe suddenly won’t start, no spark. Tried new coil and amplifier switch, still no joy. It has been starting fine and just suddenly won’t?? Am I missing something? (Probably)!

Yo Dan, The only thing i can think of off the top of my head is that theres a mechanical issue between the selector switch and the gear selector in the cabin. maybe one of the cables is slightly chewed up or routed in a way thats restricting it. but i when you look at these images, anyone that understands this fully..... amazes me

This k it needs to go to another garage for a second opinion. Or Audi or a lambo specialist.
