  7. Mark you see the plastic rivets on the lower arm I had a problem removing them so I ended up replacing them ! £10 for 4 , Job took me about 2.5 to 3 hours
  8. Heads up the screwed on my spring compressors were too long so I cut them down. But I only paid £25 for them
  9. I didn’t need to do anything apart of removing the lower stock mount bolt and then use a bottle jack and a piece of tube over the bottle jack top to the stock top mount fitting bolt , using a pair of springs compresses to compress the spring evenly enough to pull out the rubber mount I’ve got to thank Spartacus for his write up . And mine s a Quattro too a

Hi. I have exactly the same problem on my 2016 A3. Thank you all for your endeavours to fix the problem, I hope mine will mend too......... ? I'll have to check in the morning the I have the same software; RMC_EU_P16342 If this is still relevant ? Have just scrolled to the top of my MEMORY list of radio stations and can't get 'Update Station List' I merely get the first Radio station in my list. Does anyone have any clues how I get the 'Update Station List' prompt up please ?
  12. I think the same thing has happened on my Audi A4 b9 2017. It looks easy enough to replace but not sure if it's recirculation or fresh air control motor. I need to find someone with VDCS who can do it for me, don't suppose you're near Northampton way by any chance? Do you know the part number?
  13. I was planning on adding to the forum at the point there was something worthwhile to update the forum on. I didn't see the point in messaging regularly to say nothing new to report. Thankfully the warning has only appeared in few and far between instances recently. As noted above it only tends to be when starting the engine when already hot (after popping into a shop etc). Whilst I don't think the issue is gone, I have been very busy recently and dealing with the car has not been a priority. I am following the advice of my local mechanic and seeing how things go for now before deciding upon the next steps.
  14. Thank you for the suggestion Gareth. I’ll have a look at the part website. I understand that now, thank you for your help. Dan
  15. Thanks Dan, You could be right that there are indeed two thermostats. Worth checking LLL Parts website? ‘…. as simple as chuck a new one in to fix it..’ If you are asking me to guarantee that replacing the thermostat would fix the problem, then the answer is No. Like every other forum we can only make sensible suggestions. Regards, Gareth.
  16. My thought was its the thermostat too. Maybe being stuck open slightly which then allows the coolant to run around the engine constantly. At city driving speeds the airflow is minimal so it allows engine to get up to temp. With more airflow at 70mph the radiator reduces the temp in the coolant allowing it to drop to 70 deg c. I think the thermostat still fully opens as I don't run hotter than 90c so may just need a clean or a couple coolant flushes to take away any possible gunk that's keeping it open. Though ive heard that there are 2 thermostats on these cars but I'm not sure I've got them.
  17. Please share your own theories with us Dan.
  18. Okay. Do you think it would be simple as to chuck a new one in to fix it?
  19. Suspect thermostat Dan. Regards Gareth.
  20. Hi all, I've noticed a small issue with my 2l tdi where in city driving my engine will warm up to 90 deg c and usually stay there but once im on a motorway it will drop to 70 deg c and hover around there. Engine runs like normal with no issues, new water pump + cambelt kit 4000 miles ago. Not had a chance to change the oil yet. I've got my own theories but thought I would pop the question out there and see if anyone has a clue as to whats going on. Cheers Dan
  21. Difficult to say from your photo, but that may be the engine earth. Let’s hope it isn’t, since if it is, I would not think that in isolation would prevent the starter motor from doing at least something. Regards,Gareth.
  22. Cheers. Glad to hear I'm not the only one😆
  23. Glad the mechanic has got to the bottom of it 🙂 please keep us posted
  24. No probs at all
