Ignore the message that says it's 'OK to drive'!!!!!

The message is incorrect!!!

DO NOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER (try not to brake too hard and park up as as soon as possible where safe to do so).

Buy the required sensor and replace it asap.

It’s ok bro I’ve changed it now and the brakes are working fine now no issues since

  • Hi guys, As promised, here is a short video of how to replace the Brake servo sensor of an Audi A4 B9.  Not the best or clearest video, but I hope it helps. Let me know if you have

  • Thanks for Everyone who’s posted on this topic,   Same issue apart from my car is used every day.  I ended up buying one from an Audi dealer £100.  As I had a week of long journeys, poss could have ri

Good to hear! :)

Agree.  DO NOT DRIVE.  I drove to my dealership but in doing so I bricked the abs. It cost nearly £4k to get it fixed.   Pls don’t move your car.  Can you call Audi Assist who usually carry spare sensors.  Good luck.

Ooops.  In the time I replied I saw your great message.  Happy days.

If anyone does have difficulty with there ABS module with this fault reflashing it using Odis usualy solves the problem

Neither for mine in regards to red or yellow engine lights. Just the error in the scroll menu on the central part of the virtual display.

The breaks on mine only started juddering on replacing with a new sensor. Tried to clear codes too with OBD reader but no effect. Likely will bring it into mechanic as definitely dont want to brick the ABS. May need cleared with a better OBD2 tool either.

No fault codes either on OBD

Hi, i have the same problem too, the sensor came today, Ive got no fault codes that come up on my £50 Amazon diagnostic tool, which is normally pretty good. if I change the sensor, do you need to get someone with a better diagnostic tool to clear the fault? Or are you ok to just change the sensor and leave it at that? Ive that the servo restricted error come on twice, but its not on all the time, thanks in advance,

I replaced the sensor and the fault disappeared you can watch on you tube how to replace it was a bit fiddly but took minutes. I have a q5 2019

Update in regards to my situation. Replaced the sensor with part from AUDI, and not triggering error message anymore. No need for coding either.

How much did it cost from Audi?

122 euros.

Wow cost me £21

Hi, I’ve recently had the same brake servo restricted error pop up on my Audi A3 etron 2015 and as people say I’m trying to replace the sensor but struggling to figure out where it is. Anyone know?

Think its different for my A3 as its a hybrid model, can’t seem to locate the sensor.

Sorry pal I am sure you can find it on YouTube at least you’ve an idea what the issue is!

It’s possible you have a electric booster for your brakes instead of using a vacuum,

On my all road the sensor is on left hand side looking from the front under the black cover next to the brake fluid reservoir --see photo

Had this servo failed message along with auto stop/start appear on my A4 Avant. Purchased the replacement part from Audi as I needed it in a hurry and it cost me £108 inc VAT for the part. Fitted in less than two minutes following a YouTube video.

The technician at Audi who served me could not believe the price and also commented that they had lots of issues with this sensor. I would imagine this is actually a £10 to £15 part to produce.

Glad you got sorted. Definitely can be purchased cheaper online from aftermarket versions

Glad you’re sorted. It is insane how much more expensive Audi parts are. Where possible, I buy VW or Seat equivalents as most of the time they’re cheaper
