So the traction light was on for at least 6 months (please don’t judge) and the ABS light was on and off. Failed the MOT, have been told there is an issue with the tyre pressure sensor £25 + labour and this will fix the issue. Sensor changed, another fault appeared - ABS unit module (??) - part number 1K0907375K - and quoted just below £1000 for the part only. Although there is a company in Essex and another Cannock where they do reconditioning of these modules. Anyone had heard of these companies? Did anyone had a similar issue?

Kat.

Who or what is telling you that the ABS module is faulty? The dashboard lamp, a proper VAGCOM diagnosis, a cheap code reader, a mechanic, or something else?

The garage. They have changed the speed sensor, this has taken away the ABS light, but the traction control light still stayed on. After another diagnosis they said the ABS module is faulty 😒

Hi if you gave the names of the reconditioners maybe someones used them and could give an informed opinion.

I suggest you take the car elswhere for a second opinion before spending all that money. Unless the garage is using a professional code reader and knows how to interpret the results it could be leading you on a wild goose chase. The reason is that one fault can generate many unrelated false error codes, so it is essential the "technician" knows how to sort the wheat from the chaff. Even if the garage is convinced the ABS module is faulty I would ask for a guarantee that replacing it will eliminate the problem.

The OBD scanner didn’t show any errors (probably cleared by the garage), but the light still remained. Everything “small” that could be related has been checked on the car. Module has been taken off and will be shipped tomorrow for reconditioning from Autotronics - delivery, VAT around £230. fingers crossed will be sorted 🤞🏼
