Brake servo
Hi get it plugged in for codes it may well come up with brake servo restricted thats an easy job there's a massive thread about it on here, you will probably be able to get home with it but any distance could be disasterous as when it fails completely you have a solid pedal but no effective braking. Steve.

Clicking noise
Hi its probably a Cv outer front on the wheel end of the driveshaft, this will probably mean a new driveshaft but you can get them off eBay as an aftermarket unit for about £100 or alternatively get the part number off of the sticker on the shaft and get a second hand unit like I did for £60, I replaced both of mine with previously enjoyed and they have both done 30,000 now with no issues. Steve.

Black smoke from the exhaust.
Hi the only way is to get the car scanned for faults it could be anything from injectors to big end failure. Steve.

Bad Oil Leak, Can't locate... - Driving me MAD!!
Hi Al that is a disaster in so much as the oil pressure issues have done for the head the cam seal is leaking from the movement in the camshaft, all that scoring is from intermittent loss of oil pressure which has caused the two components to meet and rub on each other causing the scoring, there are no bearings as most modern engines run interference fit bearings and rely on a oil pressure wedge to keep the cam and bearing surfaces apart, either way you will need a new cylinder head/camshaft and depending on the milage one would have to consider the expense of that in view of the fact that the big end bearings are probably the same. Steve.

Bad Oil Leak, Can't locate... - Driving me MAD!!
Hi Al I wish you luck ad a speedy solution, oil on a cam belt is pretty deadly and toxic as oil and rubber don't get on ask any Transit owner about the wet belt, yes its a rubber belt that is immersed in oil, and Fords have replaced a shed load of engines under warranty and they still don't get it, its a rubbish idea, problem is oil has a capillary action and flies everywhere especially when being propelled by something thats going at speed. Steve.

Bad Oil Leak, Can't locate... - Driving me MAD!!
Hi an educated guess would be either the crankshaft oil seal or the camshaft seal, you will have to have the cam belt off to replace the seals, you might as well do both whilst there that should nail it and a new belt kit wouldn't be out of town, do you know when it was last changed. Steve.

Help please, what is this residue on the engine?
Hi if its not wet or slimy don't worry its just moisture driven corrosion, brush it off with a brass brush and see if it reappears. Steve.

Replacement trim and scuff plates.....
Hi it will, where there's a will there's a way. Steve.
-
Replacement trim and scuff plates.....
Hi yeah most of the trim bits are stuck on, I am just about to replace the door card trim/inserts on my daughters Q3 the drivers side has fallen out and the others are on their way, Audi want £100+ for each trim in metal so we are having some nice carbon fibre effect trims all four for £30 and the same as the audi ones they stick on with 3M double sided tape. Steve.
-
Replacement trim and scuff plates.....
Hi the roof is the expensive bit unless you get it re dyed, the scuff plates are easy as they are stuck on with double sided tape you can buy aftermarket plates on the internet for not to much money the trims for the hood are also available. Steve.

Headlight range control Right
Hi there is only one range control module which does both lights, when you say the right hand is always dipped do you mean pointing at the floor in which case the levelling motor is stuck you can sometimes get away with turning the adjuster in and out about four turns each way but before you do that mark the adjuster with tipex from the edge of the adjuster to the casing this will give you a reference point so you do one turn until the adjuster mark lines up and then repeat the process another three times then take it back four turns to point zero and then do the same again the other way and then come back to zero again, if that won't work it means the shutter mechanism is worn out which means another headlight. Steve.

Chugging noise like air louder if you lift airbox
Hi definitely a split turbo hose the whistle is the air escaping, best get it sorted a bit sharpish as the car won't regenerate the DPF if its loosing boost pressure. Steve.

How to replace car seat backs
Hi Steve Q did say it was similar not an exact video so room for poetic licence and imagination, worse ways it gives you a clue as to what to do.
-
Chugging noise like air louder if you lift airbox
Hi the trunking is what carries the air from the intake through the air filter box and then into the turbo, subject to your video I would definitely be checking the rubber turbo hoses first before replacing the induction parts. Steve.

headlight identification
Well done Tony, the older repair kits are cheaper as the market for them is diminishing and no parts supplier wants a few hundred of the kits for garden ornaments. Steve.

AdBlue tank fault
Hi no as there is no plan to introduce Nox testing equipment in to the MOT test because the world of government thinks we are all going to be charging around in electric cars in another seven years, where's the charging infrastructure. Steve.
-
Chugging noise like air louder if you lift airbox
Hi hazard a guess its the trunking either side of the airbox, as it gets older the plastic deteriorates and allows extra air in. Steve.
-
headlight identification
Hi is that so many different types of bird or lugs?, if you strip the front scuttle panel that runs across the front of the radiator the part number should be on the top of the headlight, plumb that in and the fact you need a lug repair kit and based on the right part number a kit should appear. Steve.
-
AdBlue tank fault
Hi no if you look at the dynamics of SCR the adblue only converts the Nox particles from one to two the addition of a 80% water solution into the steam makes the oil soot particles sticky and harder to burn, I am thinking of having mine deleted and there is nothing wrong with my system the car is now on its third EGR cooler which like the others was blocked with adblue crystals and a sticky tar like mess that hasn't been burned properly and at about £900 every fifteen months is bordering on stupid, the thing that screws the DPF is if you have theEGR mapped out as that allows the gas to be a lot hotter and start to melt the Turbo Steve.

cleaning injectors
Hi Steve, the car won't rev above 2500 standing because it has a built in rev limiter to stop that sort of activity and the moronic element from smashing the granny out of the cam belt and valve gear, it ain't like the old days where some used to get a kick out of listening to valve gear bounce and compression rings chattering, the whole process works on reciprocal force I.E. weight counterforce against the driven speed of the engine, the two forces balance each other out. Steve.

Discs and pads replacement
Hi myself and other members have nailed this one a few times, Pagid are eurocarparts own brand and carry neither E11 or E9 certification Brembo will as will Febi Blueprint EBC and Mintex, please read up on the net about E11/E9 that will explain all about the ratings and why, the best fluid is Comma ESP 4 as it is rated for all VAG/MERC/BMW anything cheaper will eat the seals over time, best stuff for lubricating slider pins is silicone grease and for the pad sliding surfaces on the callipers a thin smear of copper grease. Live Long and Prosper. Steve.

AdBlue tank fault
Hi you can always get the adblue mapped out, end of problem. Steve.
