  4. Twitter went into a tizzy earlier this week after a “Wheel of Fortune” contestant narrowly missed the final puzzle due to a technicality. The woman, Charlene Rubush, would have won an Audi Q3 on Tuesday, though she took too long to offer the complete right answer. However, Audi is stepping up to gift Rubush a new 2021 Q3 anyway. In the spirit of the holidays, we are thrilled to gift Charlene with an all-new Audi Q3,” said Tara Rush, Audi of America Chief Marketing Officer. “It is the season of giving after all and, technicality or not, we are always eager to share a bit of Audi magic and cheer!” During the final puzzle, Rubush first guessed “Choosing the right card,” before correctly solving it – “Choosing the right word.” Ironic. However, she paused for too long between the word “right” and “word” for her to win, even though she correctly guessed it before the time ran out. Host Pat Sajak said that the show only allows for a brief pause, “but not for four or five seconds” before he denied her the prize. Twitter users rallied around the hashtag #GiveHerTheQ3 in their bid to right the perceived wrong, which caught Audi’s attention last night. The company tweeted in support of Rubush, “You’re a winner in our eyes, Charlene. Now let’s get you a prize.” The automaker also thanked the Audi community for helping to track down Rubush. Yes, rules are rules, but she did guess the right answer in the allotted time, even if there was a pause between the words. Audi says it has been in contact with Rubush, but it didn’t provide a timeline for when she’ll receive the new crossover.   5. 2021 has been a great year for Audi in terms of EV launches, with the German premium car manufacturer having doubled its product portfolio of purely electric models. The e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT arrived at the start of the year, followed by the Q4 e-tron and Q4 e-tron Sportback in the spring, adding to the existing e-tron/e-tron Sportback and e-tron S/e-tron S Sportback. Remarkably, with these launches, Audi has brought to market more electric cars than combustion engine-powered models in the current year. For the next five years (2022–2026), Audi wants to accelerate the transition to what it calls "sustainable premium mobility" and the investments it has planned reflect that. Once again, the company has pledged to increase advance payments for future vehicle projects to a total of €37 billion ($41.8 billion). Of this amount, €18 billion ($20.3 billion) is earmarked for electrification and hybridization alone, as a clear sign of Audi's commitment to electromobility. By 2025, the company aims to have more than 20 fully electric models in its lineup, which is more than any other brand has officially announced so far. Starting in 2026, Audi will only launch new models that are fully electric on the global market, with the company to gradually phase out production of its internal combustion engines by 2033, when it will become a fully electric brand. Audi estimates it will ship 3 million cars per year from 2030 based on market forecasts and its model portfolio. Thanks to increasing Volkswagen Group synergies, the company also aims to reach an operating return on sales of more than 11% over the long term. Along with increasing the pace of EV launches, Audi says it is also accelerating the expansion of its charging infrastructure. The Audi charging hub that opened for customers in Nuremberg, Germany on December 23 is one example, as is the e-tron Charging Service that is going on line. Audi's own charging service is currently available and includes about 290,000 charging points in 26 European countries. The e-tron Charging Service turns to IONITY, the largest open high-power charging (HPC) network in Europe. IONITY of which Audi is a founding member, is investing €700 million ($792 million) in its fast-charging network for EVs in 24 countries.   6. Christmas came a little bit earlier this year for Hennessey as company founder John strapped a tree onto his personal 750-bhp Porsche 911 Turbo S about a week ago. The amped-up sports car from Zuffenhausen reached an impressive 175 mph (282 km/h), but the man behind the American tuner and hypercar manufacturer was not entirely satisfied. That's because the 181-mph record achieved a couple of years ago with a 1,000-bhp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was still standing. He decided to redo the run, only this time with his wife's Audi RS6 Avant. Even though the super estate looks stock on the outside, it's hiding an 800-bhp secret under the bonnet where the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 has been massaged to extract an additional 209 bhp. Prior to slapping the Christmas tree onto the long roof, the fast family hauler from Ingolstadt hit 205 mph (330 km/h). The RS6 Avant may have a 0.35 drag coefficient when it exits the gates of the Neckarsulm factory, but that's no longer the case after you add a tree onto its roof. With airflow not being what it used to be, Audi's supercar disguised as a midsize estate "only" hit 183 mph (295 km/h). That's still not too far off the 190-mph velocity quoted by the Four Rings for the version equipped with the optional Dynamic Plus package. Thankfully, the Christmas tree managed to survive at those speeds, but we're wondering what will happen once Hennessey will use the Venom F5 to beat its personal record. It's a question of when rather than if, and our money is on Christmas 2022.   7. As the title says, what is your dream road trip money no object. The crazier the better. Mine would have to be a jaunt across Africa covering countries like Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda & Kenya. And maybe Ethiopia. (not in that order. I'm inspired by the Top Gear Africa specials. And I've already visited Malawi and Zambia. For a trip like that the Audi would need some serious off road prep. Now I know my a6 isn't an all-road or quattro but I think the benefit of having traditional suspension over allroad air suspension is a positive. So this would be my dream road trip, what's yours?

  11. No probs. Also it's worth seeing when the gearbox oil was last changed as this can often cause the s tronic gearboxes from not selecting gears.

  14. What worries me is that it sounds like your mechanic might not be well equiped to work on your Audi. I'd definitely recommend a second opinion. Regarding the gearbox it might be worth getting a diagnostic check carried out to see if any fault codes flag up.
  15. If the car you're looking at has full service history then you should find a certificate that shows the car has had the recall. I worked at Volkswagen abd whst would happen, a customer would be given a certificate, and a pen and keyring in a box. Most e189 recalls was a ECU update (remap). So in theory a new remap could help reverse this. However some Audi models had an additional comment added which restricted the turbo or air intake I can't remember which as it was a long while ago I worked there.

  17. I thought there was two versions. They've done that for years going back to the d3 a8. I'm sure it'll be a great Soundsystem non the less.
  18. I believe it was an optional extra in certain models too. Naturally a coil spring version will be easier to maintain. As the complexity of air suspension can cause various issues. Including: Leaking bags Failed compressors Wiring issues Level sensor failures.
  19. When I worked in the motor trade wed tell customers to take 10mpg off the manufacturer figures to get a more accurate/true figure

  21. Sounds like you've had some good work done. Your next steps could be to change the thermostat or get a diagnostic check to see if there are any fault codes regarding the heater control module/, switchgear

  23. Yea you'll need a sim, and I think the phone should work. I know the a8 and the a6 ones are the same.
  24. Truthfully any auto I've driven I've never moved it out of the usual drive mode. But this is msinly down to laziness lol.
  25. I'd definitely be asking the dealer you've ordered it from. As it used to be the case there was more than one spec level of B&O but my info might be a little out of date.
